[Backdated to day 3 morning] Disappearing friends [closed]
Characters: Suzaku Kururugi, Sora Himoto, Lelouch vi BritanniaEuphemia had not been at breakfast, well Suzaku did not think she had been at breakfast. She hadn't came and talked to him anyways, she usually did because she knew that Suzaku didn't recognise her so couldn't approach her. He had even asked a few people who he knew knew her and none of them had seen her.
Format: Prose
This log is: closed
Location: Red dorm then Black dorm
Summary: Suzaku finds out that Euphie is gone :C and freaks out, finds Sora who has learnt that Yuki is gone :C and freaks out and then they go to find Lelouch who has found out that Rolo is gone :C and wont be freaking out (outwardly anyways) because he's Lelouch.
Warnings: Copious amounts of angst (what can I say? Angst is fun!)
He had asked Mei who had told him that Euphemia hadn't been in bed when Mei had woken. That was strange and so Suzaku was entering Red Dorm to see if she had returned to her room. He knew something was up the moment he entered, it was empty. He moved over to Euphemia's bed there were two objects on it, a charm that Suzaku recognised as a memory charm and a ring. Suzaku went cold and hoping that this didn't mean what he thought it might. Feeling slightly worried he opened the cupboard above the bed, it was empty.
She was not the first one, which was why Suzaku had guessed, people had been disapearing all week. He had seen the girl who dissapeared before everyones eyes in the tournament. All Euphie's things were gone, there was a charm and a ring on her bed....
It hit him... Euphemia was gone... he sat down heavily. He was trembling, she couldn't be gone... she couldn't be... She had been here yesterday, they had spoken and now...
Absantly he picked up the charm, all at once he wasn't in the room in the Red dorm but outside, on grass. Lelouch was there, younger than he had been when Suzaku had met him, and Nunnally, Nunnally walking towards another girl who it took Suzaku a moment to realise was Cornelia, a child Cornelia. They laughed and all of a suddon Suzaku was back in the Red Dorm.
Euphie was gone, yet the charm he was holding in his hand, that was part of her. Her memory, it was in his mind now, like his own memories. Trembling he picked up the ring, it had a symbol on it but he didn't know what it meant. He slipped it on to his finger anyways, it was Euphies. And Euphy was gone.
He was still numb; he had lost Euphemia before and this time she had just disapeared, it was still unreal to him, he stumbled out the room and through the partly opened door into the room oposite saw a flash of red hair. Sora.
"Sora... Euphie, she's gone..." He didn't know why he blurted it out at her, just he knew her and she was there and he had to tell somebody. He blinked away tears.

No. Not another one. Not Yuki. She'd stumbled over to the bed to scoop up the charm and the ring, and fell to her knees as the memory hit her.
Surprise, a half-spoken apology cut off by red hair and a worried smile. A smile so close to her photo. This was her, the girl chosen to be a Player, the girl who had the ability to end Iwahijiri's reign of torment. She didn't look special, not really, didn't look like she'd trained, or like she was anyone but a smiling, bright teenager, but wasn't that enough? Hope.
"Whoops! Are you okay?"
She ran.
Yuki had run. Sora had wordlessly clipped the memory to her bracelet, tears filling her eyes and making her vision swim, and then Suzaku had spoken from the doorway. She tried a smile, but it came out wrong, wobbly, and when she spoke it was with a hitch in her voice. "I'm sorry... Yuki's gone too."

It was difficult though, because Euphemia was gone. He hadn't really ever got over her death, though it had started to get less painful when he knew they were going to make the world a better place, and then he had ended up here and she had been here and it had seemed like some kind of strange dream. Now she was gone again.
Suzaku but his hand on Sora's shoulder, an attempt at comforting her.

Suzaku got another smile, stronger this time.
"They're strong. I believe in all of them, so... it'll be okay. Everyone needs us here, and then when we free them, I'll go back and I'll help them again." Her fingers tightened over his, and she repeated, "I believe in them. And I believe in Euphie, too. I'm glad I met her!"

What if they were taking them from here to be part of another experiment? Suzaku did not voice his thoughts outloud because he did not want to worry Sora.
He nodded at her words but felt another wave of sadness, because even if he managed to escape and get back home he would never see Euphemia again. He didn't say that either because he didn't want to heap more sadness onto Sora.
"I'm glad you met her too, and I am glad I met Yuki..." His voice caught again and his hand trembled on Sora's shoulder. He didn't cry though, he wanted to but tears didn't come.

He looked to them when they entered. "Suzaku, Sora," stated coldly as a greeting. Suzaku would recognize the excessive chill as a mask for something else bothering him.

Suzaku let go of Sora's hand and crossed over the room to stand next to Lelouch, "What happened?"

At least he could reasure Lelouch of one thing though, he shook his head, "No I saw Nunnally at breakfast," from a distance but she had seemed fine, "She is still here," for now anyways. He watched Lelouch carefully knowing that he was much more angry and upset then he was letting on.
DON'T MOVE, I'M TAGGING WITH KOTAROU NEXT
"I'm going to ask at the desk," Sora announced, all of a sudden. "Suzaku, Lelouch, don't worry, okay? I'll definitely find out what happened!"
And whoosh, with a final brave smile and burst of radiated belief in herself and everyone around her, she was off.
TAG TEAM GO
"Ichi's gone!" He held out the two pieces of jewellery in his hands, "See? These were on her bed! What's going on?"

Another one... more sadness flickered across Suzaku's face. Where were they all going? What had happened? He looked down at the objects in Kotarou's hands and shook his head slightly. "Sorry Kotarou, I don't know. She's just gone... Did you see the girl at the tournament, like that..." Suzaku had not seen that actually, he had left with the Guren pilot and Gino by that time but he had heard about it.
"I'm sorry... Is Huashi alright, have you seen her today?" So many people had gone, Suzaku glanced back at Lelouch.

"What's been left behind is a memory charm and one of her upgrades," he explained to the boy. The usual edge of arrogance wasn't in his voice, and he sounded downright sympathetic to what the boy was going through. The look on his face was still stony and cold, though. "It's your decision whether you should bear them or if you believe there is someone else here Ichi would find more suitable." He saw these leavings as something of a legacy, to be carried by one most closely connected to the departed individual. Euphemia's was safe in Suzaku's care.
no subject
"Suitable?" His hands closed over them. "There's no-one else! I'll keep them safe for her."

Remembering the memory that Euphemia had left behind Suzaku unclipped it and handed it to Lelouch, Suzaku would keep it but it was a memory of Lelouch and Nunnally and Suzaku didn't think that he deserved to keep it. After all Suzaku had failed Euphemia and Lelouch was her brother, the memory was more his than Suzaku's.

"Then they're yours to carry," he told Kotarou. "Take good care of them." He even offered a small smile. Euphemia's memory had clearly done much to improve his mood.

Suzaku looked back to Kotarou and nodded, "Look after them," he gave a small sad smile, Kotarou was far too young to have to deal with this, any of this.
