[Round 3, Rest Day] And They Said: Let There Be No Light.

Characters: ALL
Format: ANY
This log is: OPEN
Location: ALL OF CAMPUS
Summary: In a flash of lightning and the deafening roll of thunder, the power goes out across Utopia Academy.
It's early in the morning when it happens, about six o'clock. The clouds were gathering gradually through the night, the rain only getting heavier from the near-constant downpour during the previous week. Lightning crackles across the sky, the water around the academy is violent and the waves are high. And in a particularly loud clap of thunder, what lights were still on go out and the academy is plunged into darkness.

Suzaku stood as well, the cold was starting to get to him now that he was still. When Lelouch did not start walking right away Suzaku drew closer and reached out an arm so that Lelouch could lean on him if he wanted. After all he had almost drowned, it would take time for him to recover. But they had to get inside, if Lelouch really couldn't walk Suzaku was prepared to carry him. After all he had carried Lloyd to the docks and he was taller and fought more.

While he was fortunately uninjured from the whole affair, his body ached and as his adrenaline came down, what had just happened began to sink in. Suzaku's approach was welcome, as the shaking began to spread from his hands. He squeezed his hands into fist in an attempt to force the reaction away, but even he couldn't master that.

He didn't know how he got there, but he found himself being set back into his bed. It was dark all around them except for the barely-rising sun and the flashing lightning coming through the windows. He grabbed onto the shirt of the person putting him there. The lowering motion gave him a flash of memory of being in the water again.

No, he couldn't subject himself to that. He wasn't that soft anymore. During his waking hours, anyway.

By the time Suzaku got to black dorm carrying Lelouch's unconcious form he was exhausted but he didn't let himself give into the tiredness. As he lowered Lelouch onto his bed he saw the panic there. "It's alright Lelouch, your in your dorm." He let Lelouch settle, not minding him grabbing his shirt until he relaxed.

He didn't want to leave him, in case he woke up and paniked again, so when Lelouch awoke he would find his knight knelt at the side of his bed, his head leant on the covers, fast asleep from exhaustion.

At Suzaku's words, he glowered, not at him, but more annoyed at himself for having that reaction. But he settled in to sleep.

When he finally woke up again, the sky was brighter, though the downpour continued. The alarm clock on the bedside table told him it was nearly noon. He climbed out of bed from the opposite side of where Suzaku slept, and went down to the showers. He gathered up a few towels, replenished from the morning's showers by the staff, and came back upstairs. He covered Suzaku's shoulders in one, and used another on his hair while he looked for something else to wear other than his uniform, the clothes he'd arrived in, and these soaked pajamas. Soon, he found someone else's freshly cleaned set. So he stripped out of his, and put these on. They were large on him, but they would do until his hair was dry.

Suzaku's awareness started to come back when he felt the weight of the towel being thrown over him. He was shocked into awakeness but settled once he realised there was no danger. He woke up slowly and grabbed the towel, drying his hair. He shivered as he realised how cold he was, his clothes were still sodden and clung to him, he should probably go to his room and find some dry clothes.

Luckily it was only over the coridoor and soon he was dry and a little warmer. He returned to Lelouch's room, able to think now he wasn't as freezing. He felt guilty, the whole plan had gone wrong and Lelouch had almost drowned, while Suzaku was meant to be protecting him, he could have died.

He stood by the door awkwardly, "I'm sorry," he muttered.
