Mission 2: Training Day
Characters: OPEN
Format: Anything! I'll start with prose, but if you switch I'll change to match you. :]b
This log is: Wide open
Location: In any of the common rooms in the dorms.
Summary: Montblanc wants to put up a letter on the cork noticeboards in each of the dorms, but he is way too short! Someone help him out.
If Montblanc had learned anything in his time at Utopia Academy, it was that this world was not made to cater to the vertically challenged. He was used to it. Moogles were the smallest race in Ivalice, so it was only natural that they'd became very inventive when it came to upward movement. He was a pro at scrambling over obstacles that looked insurmountable at a glance.
But even he couldn't climb up a perfectly smooth wall. Why were those dumb boards so high up, anyway? He had something to post, something that he hoped would both help him get to know the people here and help them in the battles to come, but until he figured out the mysteries of the internet, this was the only way to get word of his plan out.
Maybe he should try moving the inconveniently hefty furniture around. He made one final attempt at jumping high enough grab a pin from the board, his wings fluttering uselessly. So close...! But no luck once again. "Oh, kupo!"
That was probably an expletive.

"Oh! Montblanc, you need some help there?"

The paper in his hand is a little ruffled from all the jumping earlier, but the words on it are still plainly visible:
To any interested parties,
I noticed that there are many of you here who are not used to fighting. This puts you at quite a disadvantage in the battles, kupo! If anyone is interested, I'm willing to host a training session to help you out. I can cover basic combat, some weapons training, and general fitness, kupo. All are invited to attend regardless of experience level. The more experienced can join me in helping the less if they so choose.
If there is any interest, we will meet in the courtyard on [insert date here] as a courtesy to any unowned weapons and proceed to the gym if possible. Please sign the sheet below if you are interested, kupos!
Best regards,
Montblanc of Clan Nutsy (Ivalice)

He spotted the words on the paper and read the ntice quickly.
"A training session, huh? sounds like a good idea. Need any help? I might not be the strongest fighter, but I'm fast."

Montblanc was glad to have anyone along, but working with Locke would be especially useful. He had no doubt that even he could learn things from an experienced treasure hunter.

He checked himself for one of his map-making pens and wrote his name on the first line.
"There we go, I'm sure it'll be full in no time!

Other than the treasure hunt, Locke had decided in the short amount of time he'd been here, that this place was going to drive him nots with how cramped it was.Any distraction would be a good one.

"That's a brilliant idea Montblanc."

He nodded at the notice approvingly. Mission accomplished! "Would you like to help me plan out what we'll do? It's okay if you're not interested in helping teach, but if you have any ideas I could use, I'm all ears, kupo!" The aforementioned ears twitched to attention to illustrate this.

"Let's see what we can find!"

"Alright, let's see...hmm...I don't actually recognize a lot of this."
Red Dorm
"Do you need a hand?" the girl asked, walking closer to the board.
no subject
He passed it to her gratefully. "Would you mind pinning it fairly low? I'm going to need to see who signs up, kupo!"

No pressure or anything.

And, well, because she had been wondering about it since she read the notice. "Do you do a lot of fighting in your world, Montblanc-san?" It seemed like he did, but it hadn't really occurred to her to think about it before -- surely it would be harder for him to fight regular human-sized people? Or maybe it was helpful, because they wouldn't be used to it either...?

He smiled proudly. Gang warfare sure is great!

He allowed himself to boast a little. "Kupo! But there's more to leading a clan than brute strength. I handle everything from recruiting members to choosing missions. There's a lot riding on my judgment! There are plenty of people who can fight, but not everyone has my instincts and experience!"
He frowned slightly when a different thought struck him. "I hope they're doing alright without me."
no subject
"...Well, you would have an assistant leader for a group that big, wouldn't you? So they can handle it while you're gone, right?"
