This shows up on the notice boards in each of the dorms immediately following Montblanc's open log:
To any interested parties,
I noticed that there are many of you here who are not used to fighting. This puts you at quite a disadvantage in the battles, kupo! If anyone is interested, I'm willing to host a training session to help you out. I can cover basic combat, some weapons training, and general fitness, kupo. All are invited to attend regardless of experience level. The more experienced can join me in helping the less if they so choose.
If there is any interest, we will meet in the courtyard on [insert date here] as a courtesy to any unowned weapons and proceed to the gym if possible. Please sign the sheet below if you are interested, kupos!
Best regards,
Montblanc, Head of Clan Nutsy (Ivalice)
((OOC: If I get a handful of people interested, I was thinking we could maybe do a big group log full of threadjacking and people sparring, teaching, and otherwise helping and getting to know one another. JUST AN IDEA. Anyway, I guess this is an IC and OOC sign-up! So just throw your characters' names down if you want them involved.
Alternatively, feel free to just cover it in graffiti and have pencil arguments among yourselves. Whatever works!))

Finally, he nodded his head firmly.
"Yosh," he grunted, picking up a pencil. "I need to find Romeo."
Zoro scrawled his name - his full name - upon the list, then strode away with a strong look of intent on his face.

He had something for him, he was happy because Sherlock had completed the riddles and he held the presents for Zoro tightly in his pockets.
"Hello sir!" He grinned as he moved closer.

It was then that he noticed the bright, shining smile Romeo so eagerly wore. Curiously raising a brow, Zoro tilted his head at a slight angle and gave Romeo's expression a studying glance.
"Is something up?"
no subject
At Zoro's question he remembered his news and gave a grin, "Mister Sherlock Holmes solved all the riddles, so these," he grabbed the fistfull of ten tokens and handed them over, "are yours for winning, oh and," something came over Romeo that could have been perhaps mistaken for shyness if it wasn't for his huge grin.
"I bought you a present sir!" He held out the memory charm with another smile.

Surprised, Zoro accepted the tokens, letting Romeo gently drop them into his palm. Then, once he revealed the memory charm, Zoro felt himself taken even further aback.
"I...umm..." Zoro began, clearly uncertain on what to say or how to react. It wasn't as though he'd never received gifts before, but from this boy, who he had only known for a matter of weeks, it was striking.
For a moment, he briefly considered trying to act tough and aloof, too distant to care, but he couldn't bring himself to even try. Instead, still stern and stiff-chinned, his smile grew slightly, and he nodded to Romeo. "Thanks."
"...so, what is this thing?" he added, holding up the charm.
no subject
He smiled at the thanks and grinned at the question a little surprised that he did not know already."It's a memory charm!" Romeo said with a smile, "It holds one of the memories they stole! So I guess you have to concentrate on it and it goes into you mind!"
He watched hoping very much that the memory was happy and not a sad memory.

Taking a firm hold of the charm, Zoro focused his mind on it completely, as if drawing its very essence into his mind. He paused then, as the memory resurfaced, and blinked rather sharply, apparently confused and perhaps a bit appalled that he could have ever forgotten such a simple thing.
Reaching for his left arm, Zoro took hold of the simple piece of cloth tied in a knot just above his elbow. It wasn't just a cloth, though; it was a bandana, one that he had carried with him for years and had always donned before entering a serious fight, and somehow, he had actually forgotten all about wearing it, or even how to do so. Putting it on meant that he was preparing himself for a great struggle, and that he was ready to face off against death, if need be. It was a sign of his conviction, and a sign of his strength.
Untying it from his arm, he unfolded it cleanly, wrapped it across his head, and tied it back again just above his strong neck. As he looked up again, his eyes cast in grim shadow by the bandana's shade, and he smiled fiercely, glad to feel that familiar rush again, like being reunited with an old friend.
"Romeo-kun...thank you," he said, staring off into the distance.

"Your welcome sir!" He watched him some more and then bit his lip thinking, though his smile did not disapear, "Sir what is that? It makes you look like a pirate from a story book!" He hoped Zoro didn't think he was rude, but he was telling the truth!

Roronoa Zoro, first mate to the future Pirate King, reached up to the bandana atop his head and slipped it back off again, returning it to his arm where he neatly tied and knotted it.
"This is just a little something I keep with me," he added in a casual tone. "Makes me look scary, right? That's the idea."
Having already signed his name on the list, Zoro reached down for the pencil and used it to etch Romeo's name as well.
"Anyway, thanks again. Let's get going...we have some time to train a bit before dinner."
no subject
He was a little happier when Zoro took the bandana off but still, he couldn't imagine the swordsman who had been helping him and training him and making him stronger being a bad person.
He couldn't be a bad person! He was nice and had helped Romeo, he had to be good. Romeo started to shake because he wanted to run, he shouldn't help a bad person and he shouldn't be friends with a pirate. But it was Zoro, and he hadn't done anything bad that Romeo had seen. Romeo liked Zoro, he didn't want him to be bad.
"Alright sir." He said in a quiet voice, lacking any of his usual enthusiasm as he followed the pirate slowly.
