ROUND 4 - NEW PLAYERS & ROUND CHANGE

You're falling, and you can't remember why. It's a sickening feeling that makes your insides lurch; the darkness and the vertigo combine, and all you can think of is a story you heard once, somewhere.

- I remember now. It's a simple story that everyone knows. A legend of a Princess, the Demon Lord who kidnapped her, and the Knight who fought to save her.

The Demon Lord had kidnapped the Princess countless times, but every time the Knight bested his challenges and rescued the Princess.

No matter what tricks and ploys the Demon Lord used, the Knight would always triumph in the end. This was because--

The world tilts on its axis one last time, and the dream slips from your mind as easily as it arrived. A new voice intrudes on your sleep.

"Next stop: Academy Main Entrance. This tramline terminates here; all change. Next stop: Academy Main Entrance. All change."

Sunlight streams through the windows of the long carriage, making the seats almost uncomfortably warm beneath its waking passengers. The air is muggy and thick, the atmosphere deeply tired. Your nausea settles, slowly. The last of the dream fades.

"We have arrived at Utopia. Repeat, we have arrived at Utopia Academy. Could all passengers please leave the tram, as it is terminating here."

The tram pulls to a stop outside the academy station, and anyone onboard is ushered off and directed to the front lobby of the school. You can't miss it; there are signs up pointing toward the main entrance, reading "New student orientation" in big, bright letters. If anyone should care to move off the path, try exploring somewhere else, a teacher will conveniently appear to shoo them back toward the lobby, assuring them that "all your questions will be answered inside".

The lobby is big and spacious, looking more like a university or perhaps a fancy international hotel than a high school. Stood around are any number of students in the uniform of the school. Some of them even look awake. There are several receptionists at the desk towards the back of the lobby, but for now they seem busy with paperwork.

Anyway, the many screens are far more interesting. Once a good number of students are gathered inside the building, they all activate at once to show a cheerful, almost cavity-inducing woman in the school uniform. She smiles, waves, and launches into her speech without further ado.

"Good afternoon to our new students here at Utopia Academy! Thank you for choosing to enroll with us for this, our first semester of the new year. Our battle system is the best in the world, set up for you, our students! I hope that you all had a fun journey here, and that you've all made some new friends! You're going to need them soon, so keep them close, okay?

"Now, I'm going to explain the rules for you. Make sure to listen carefully, and remember, you can find all of this and more in the Exaclan manual!"

She outlines the battle system for the newbies as she has every round previous, then claps her hands. The screen goes blank, and the following appears:

Romeo's eyes lit up as Sherlock said that he had a weapon already, "Oh who is helping you sir?" He hoped it was someone nice who would help Sherlock.

"Lloyd Asplund."

The narration presumes Sherlock has had time to figure out that particular bit of information by now. It's been long enough.

"Interesting fellow."

"Lloyd!" Romeo's eyes went wide, it was the witch! Well he wasn't actually a witch because according to Grenn there were no such things as witches. But he was very strange, he had a room full of technology and had said some very strange things.

"You have to be careful! I am sure mister Lloyd is really a nice person but he said some not nice things!" That wasn't to say he was a bad person, but Romeo had felt that sometimes he would do bad things.

Well that sorted it then, he would have to vow to Sherlock just to make sure that Lloyd didn't try and turn him into a frog, or... since witches didn't exist, use some of his technology on him!

"I'll be you weapon as well if you want," he said quietly, Sherlock didn't seem certain that it would work but Romeo was willing to try so he could help both his friends.

"I don't think it will work," he reiterates, "and I think we are both likely to get in trouble for trying it, but I am willing to accept that if you are."
myblueskies: (go ahead! shoot me!)

Romeo frowned, "I don't want you to get into trouble... but er, I'll just tell them it's my fault." Romeo looked around, because he was sure that the people who ran the school could hear everything, after all how else would they know when people made vows or declared battles or anything if there was no magic.

"Sir? Miss? This is all my idea, mister Sherlock is not to blame so if you want to punish someone punih me alright?" That should work, with a shy smile he looked back at Sherlock. "There, try now."

He opens his hands in a shrug.

"In that case, and rest assured I will take my fair share of the blame: I promise to protect you."
myblueskies: (that hurt!)

Elle gave instructions of what happens....

"And I promise to help and protect you in return." He brought his hand to his chest and spoke up to the air again, "Hear our vo..."

He was cut off by the sharp stab of pain that cut through his skull. It wasn't like being hit, it was like being jolted from the inside. He clasped his hands to his head and sunk down to the floor.

The pain was gone as quick as it had came and he blinked, had mister Sherlock felt that as well. "Mister Sherlock are you alright?"

does it happen to Sherlock too?

[personal profile] bitofafiction 2011-04-09 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well." He sighs. "That was singularly futile. I'm sorry."

If he had any similar headache, he's recovered by now.
myblueskies: (but... I didn't do anything...)

Had mister Sherlock felt the pain? He didn't look like he had, but he seemed a very strong person and might have just been able to ignore it. Romeo looked at him with wide eyes, "Did they hurt you?" He bit his lip but gave a brave smile.

"I'm sorry I can't help you this time! I hope mister Lloyd is nice to you!" He would be keeping an eye on them, because he did not trust Lloyd and was worried about his friend.
bitofafiction: Looking up. Considering or evasive. (<= I know it sounds absurd)

"Thank you for your concern," he says, evading the question of hurt.

Of course, if they hadn't, he would have been quite sanguine about saying so.
myblueskies: (spirits up!)

Romeo smiled sadly at Sherlock understanding instinctly that Sherlock did not want to talk about it. He reached into his pocket and found an apple, he pulled it out and dusted it on his shirt. "I'm sorry mister Sherlock, here you go." He handed over the apple with a smile before turning to leave.
bitofafiction: Smiling, eyes closed; affectionate or mischievous. (!= quite enough attention)

"Thank you."

What a brilliantly innocent creature this Romeo is.

Sherlock misses Tony all of a sudden.
