Action- Backdated to Tuesday evening

Well, that didn't go as well as she expected. She was too late to find an owner, which means she couldn't really learn that much more about the world, and she couldn't even spend her time at the gym. Well, it's not like the courtyard was trash, right? She could just get her evening workout done there, and deal with finding an owner during the classes.

In the meantime, the sight of a woman doing push ups against a curb doesn't really add to the otherwise calm scenery. Some may admire her massive strength, among other things, while others may be disguised by the fact that she's sweating all over the nearby flower bed. Either way, she seems to notice you despite how engrossed in her workout she is.

"Hey, you got a second?"

Welp, there was no one else around. Meryl had to be talking to her, right?

"Did you need something?"

"Do you have any idea what's going on here?" She asked quite simply. "I mean, why would we be sent here to fight each-other? What are we being trained for?"

She didn't expect to have an answer, but she had too many questions to not just blurt them out at random. Besides, this was a good way to start a conversation.

"I'm probably the wrong person to ask that," Kallen started. "Whatever is going on, fighting... I don't want any part of it. And I'm not going to be in some fairytale story. None of that is true."

For a moment, blue eyes looked up at the sky.

"I can't give you an answer you're probably looking for.

"I doubt the story's true." She instantly agreed. "It's all just some stupid fairy tale, and they can't use it to justify kidnapping."

She got up from the ground, and started staring into space herself.

"I doubt anyone can, at least not now. just can't help but ask... It's all too weird."

"What? The prince saving the princess from some sort of evil? There's a lots of stories about that. What makes this one so special." Kallen shifted her footing and looked back down at the other female.

"Everyone supposedly has lost ten memories. But all my memories are in tact. This whole thing is a load of crap if you ask me."

"There are, and it isn't special." She continued explaining, obviously agreeing "I'm not even sure how the metaphor even works."

"Wait, ten memories?" Now it made sense- she forgot her paint tattoo design, she couldn't remember half of the stories her uncle told her... did she lose all of those?

"Personally, I don't want to think about it. I stopped fighting; I wanted a normal school life. And if I can't do it back home, then I'll do it here."

"That's what I was told." Gino made mention of it and she remembered that woman in the lobby said it too. But Kallen didn't feel like she had forgotten anything.

"I wanted to fight... but not like this. I mean, there isn't even any reason to fight here." She started staring off into space again. "Don't worry... if there's a way in, then there has to be a way out... right?"

Meryl remembered a few things from that weird dream, but memory loss wasn't one of them. But still, that at least explains why she can't remember a lot about her life.

"I don't think so but some people have found a reason; to get their memories back. But what does this game have to do with all of it?"

True. If there was a way in, there had to be a way to leave. It was an idea that seemed to far fetched that Kallen didn't think about it. There was no way out of being kidnapped on your own. She knew that. That's why Lelouch came for--

When Lelouch entered her thoughts, Kallen's face fell somber.

"If they're making us fight, then they must need us for something." But then, why the system? It seems like for every conclusions she drew, there were more questions.

Meryl knew that she was probably missed, and maybe even looked for. But she can't just wait to be saved- she's not that kind of woman. Besides, who will take care of everyone else here?

"Hey, is everything okay?" This conversation was obviously upsetting, but she still can't help but ask.

"Huh?" Kallen almost jumped at the question. "Yeah... fine..." But why now was she getting the feeling there was something about Lelouch she was forgetting. But she remembered everything; his death, them working together, his betrayal...

"I'm not going to play. I refused to be used as a puppet or some pawn. They can find someone else."

"Fair enough." Meryl had her reasons for participating, but at the same time, it may be better if some people didn't. If anything, it'll be a slight setback for whoever's running this place.

"In the meantime... good luck." She tried to smile again. It was pretty obvious that the conversation upset Kallen, so she tried to at least reassure her.

"Thanks. I take it you'll fight?"

"Until I know more about what's going on, or if things start getting even worse." She nodded.

"Worse?"

"People start dying."

It was almost second nature for Kallen to want to say ' I won't allow that to happen', but she stopped herself. She said she wasn't getting involved and she didn't plan on to.

"Let's hope it would never have to come to that."

"Don't worry, things won't." Meryl was so sure of herself; she'd save the day and make sure everyone gets to go home safely. There was no reason for this other person to get hurt if she didn't want to; Heck, she probably caused enough grief for their entire visit to this school.

Kallen smiled, but it probably came off more so as a smirk. She was seeing her 'old self' in Meryl a bit. Definitely could relate a lot.

"Name's Kallen."
