Summary: Suzaku goes to ask Utena a favour, knight to knight.

It was early eavning as Suzaku made his way to Pale Dorm. He had been looking out for Utena all day, he hadn't managed to find her in the crowded lobby at the round change announcement the day before and he hadn't seen her at meals or in classes. Now that eavning was approaching he was headed to her dorm to see if she was there.

He wasn't sure how to ask her this favour, after all he didn't know her that well even if she had joined his and Sora's promise to beat this schools system and help everyone escape. He also didn't feel comfortable dragging anyone else into his and Lelouch's problems with Gino. After all it was an issue that had started in their own world and Suzaku definitly didn't want to involve the people of this world with Britannia politics.

But the truth remained that Suzaku couldn't protect Lelouch when they were both players, Sora was already vowed with Tamoko and there wasn't that many other people he trusted. He realised he had arrived at the door and knocked quietly. Two days had nearly passed since the round announcement, it was very likely that Utena had already vowed to someone but still, it was worth a try. Suzaku waited.

Utena had been avoiding dreaming.

And in avoiding dreaming, she had started to want to drift off into dreaming more.

Whatever she'd fainted from last week, it had highlighted the things she still didn't know. And that caused worry and sleepless nights.

A knock at the door was a welcome distraction from this. It was even more welcome when she saw who it was. She opened the door and gave him an honest smile (she had no other kind).

"Hi Suzaku!"

"Hello Utenna," Suzaku gave a small smile. It really wasn't a true smile, it was rare he ever smiled because he wanted to, he smiled because others wanted him to, because it was easier to smile and pretend then explain. Especially since he didn't even understand the lack of smiling, because he used to smile and now didn't and his mind fuzzed whenever he thought about it.

"Are you alright?" He had seen her since she had been taken to the infirmary, but was still worried, it was such a strange thing to pass out when there was no battle, no damage, no injury.

Utena, whose emotions were always broadcast loud on her face, looked a little embarrassed and shuffled her feet.

"Yeah i'm fine. I'm sorry I freaked everyone out like that."

Suzaku gave another small smile, "Don't worry, everyone was just worried. I am glad you are better now." He nodded awkwardly and looked around for a moment.

"I was wondering if I could ask you a favour."

Utena cocked her head.

"Sure! ...Uh, what is it?"

Someone had once told her she tended to agree to help people too readily.

Suzaku gave another small smile it was something he would do, agree to things before knowing all the details. He wouldn't hold Utena to it though, once he told her what the favour was if she didn't want to do it it was fine.

"I was wondering if you had a player already?"

"Oh, you need me? Of course. We vowed to help each other out, didn't we?" She thought it was charming that he even felt he had to ask, after the vow the three of them had said.

Suzaku gave another smile, almost a genuine one. "Thank you Utena, but it is a little different, I have four weapons, but Lelouch has also been chosen as a player..." He felt a bit awkward asking but they had promised to help each other out, he'd do as much for Utena.

"I can't protect him when I am a player as well... so Sora sugested that I ask you, if you would mind vowing with him..."
