Meet and Greet [Intro #2]

You are brought to your campus and shown to your dorm rooms before you are given permission to wander the campus and the town. Meaning Fortitude students can mingle with Conquest students, they can go visit the shop (shop post will be up later today), or speak to the headmistresses and mayor. Each student now has the Exaclan manuals, a uniform, a school bag with either a shield or a sword on it, and the glove used to pull weapons.

But make sure to come to the battle area later to see the exhibition match! 

Take advantage of the free day, the freedom won't last long. Sooner rather than the later the round will start, Players will be named, Weapons will lose their privileges, and the battles will begin. So you might as well go out and make friend or start rivalries, anything to help you along later in the round.

"But..." She shakes her head. In a voice so quiet it might be hard to hear, Ruka anxiously tries to explain. "I can't. I'm... it's girls' clothing..."

[dreamcandies]

"Didn't you hear me? I said put it on. Pretty please." Road's voice has gained a little bit of an edge.

[untraditional]

"I can't..." She holds out the skirt for Road to take. "I-it'd look much better on you... I can't wear it..."

[dreamcandies]

She makes no motion to take it.

She's actually become quite stiff, low lidded eyes shooting a cold stare at Ruka as she sits down on the edge of the bed. You see, Road really likes to get her way.

"Put it on."

"I'm... I'm a boy, so I can't wear anything like this... it's really embarrassing... I'm sorry."

She slowly lowers her arms and looks away from Road. She feels threatened and embarrassed as well as ashamed. Before she knows it, tears are gathering at the corner of her eyes.

Well, that is unexpected but Road's expression doesn't change. In fact she only rolls her eyes harder, tossing her skirt from home to the foot of the bed. When she looks back to Ruka, the stare is duller but still very annoyed.

"And what part of that stops you from putting on that skirt so I can see how it looks?" She sucks her teeth, tsk. "Do you want to hurt my feelings, Ruka?"

Ruka looks at Road in shock. She was expecting some sort of rejection after that, but it doesn't come. Road is still pouting and being annoyed, but she doesn't seem to hate her now. Like all the other people who found out like this did. So Ruka is grateful in a way.

"I don't want to offend you," she says quietly, and a tear rolls down her face. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry. I just can't get myself to wear girls' clothes. Guys aren't supposed to wear girls' clothing... I don't want to fool anyone..."

When you've got a sister who shape shifts to men and the like all the time, and lived for as long as she has, you really don't care about these things. They're little drops of rain water in the much larger barrel.

"If you don't want to wear it, that's one thing." Which would annoy Road the most, and she won't relent if that's simply the case. "But if you honestly think you can't wear something for a stupid reason like that, then you must really be dumb."

"It doesn't matter if you're male or female, it's a bloody skirt." She huffs.

Again, Ruka looks to Road a bit stunned. She's a bit rough and scary, but her message is clear. It's something-- in her memories, anyways-- that no one has ever said to her before. "... R-really? Do you really mean that?"

"I could wear pants if I fancy, but I don't prefer them." She says, and being a supposed child of the 19th century, that is indeed still a bit taboo in theory.

"Now, if you're just putting it on for me it doesn't matter, does it? Nobody's around to see." She fluffs up her bangs with one hand. "But Ruka, tell me, do you really fancy what you think you have to wear?"

"E-eh... I don't know..." Ruka looks to her feet, and blushes. "I don't think much of what I have to wear... it's embarrassing to put on girl things because I'm not supposed to wear it... not because I hate it."

[dreamcandies]

"Not supposed to, not supposed to, not supposed to." Road imitates sarcastically, flopping onto her back on the bed. She stretches one leg upright into the air, before parting it from the other to look between her thighs at Ruka.

"Who said that? And why are you listening to them?"

"I..." Road has a point. Ruka still feels intimidated, but it's reassuring to hear something like that. It means maybe she's not wrong. Though Road does it the way she does, it's something new. With a little confidence, Ruka quietly says: "I'll... go change. I'll be right back... so don't go anywhere."

[dreamcandies]

"I won't." Road says with both feet now up in the air, swaying left to right as she points her toes up at the ceiling. Ruka's modesty is rather cute, and she doesn't really think she has the nerve to run away on her -- so she waits.

Ruka nods and with a little anxiety-- but more courage than before-- leaves the bedroom to find a bathroom. She changes quickly into the skirt and goes to find Road again. The skirt fits her just fine, and though it's a bit short-- it stops just about mid-thigh-- Ruka feels a little pretty wearing it. Even if she's concerned about 'deception'.

"U-um, I'm back..."

Prepare to be bombarded by Road, who climbed to her feet sometime Ruka was out of the room. She rushes to her side, smiling happily before planting both hands on Ruka's hips. She guides her with her to the mirror that is so on the wall.

"Mm, you know whaaaat..." She says, pouting her lips together as she surveys them.

Her hands go to rest on Road's with a bit of anxiety. She isn't used to casual touching. She doesn't look at herself in the mirror and instead turns her head to look at Road.

"What is it...?"

"Skirt looks better on you." She gives it a tug (a little higher) and casually adjusts the way it sits on Ruka's hips. She has practice in dressing people like dolls, but her fingers don't go far.

"Your legs are longer than mine."

"Oh," she says. "I'm sorry... I'm a little taller than you though, so... maybe that's why..."

[dreamcandies]

"You should keep wearing it." She says, tucking up Ruka's shirt to make it fit better against the waistline of the skirt.

"I suppose I'll wear the shorts."

She stiffens a bit, but lets Road do as she pleases. Ruka doesn't want to be on the receiving end of her glare again. Her eyes finally go to look at herself in the mirror. The skirt looks okay. A bit unnatural, since after all Ruka isn't used to it, but okay. It isn't like the unfinished cosplay she had to wear for Mayuri. It covers everything just fine.

"Is it really alright to wear it...?"

[dreamcandies]

"If you want to look pretty, sure." Road says, slowly wrapping her arms around Ruka's waist from behind. Snuggly hugging her, she keeps her head peeking out from the side to soak up the mirror image. "I could dress you even prettier, you know. I've got lots of practice."

[untraditional]

"R, really..." Her breath hitches at the contact. She's really not used to things like this. It's not like she's meaning to be cruel though. So Ruka doesn't voice any complaints. "M-maybe... sometime... we could go shop for clothes together..."

You're saying all the right things, Ruka. She wishes she could run her fingers through your hair right now. Instead her low lidded, satiated look disperses to again the cheery little grin of an impish little girl.

"Yes, of course. And you must play with me, too." Her arms squeeze. "We can be life~ long friends." For as long as you're alive.

She smiles a little, trying to relax. This isn't bad. It's okay. She's just hugging, and it's rude to stiffen up like something nasty has touched you. Slowly, Ruka relaxes, and eventually is able to smile pleasantly.

"Y-yes, I will," she says. "I'm happy... I didn't think that I'd meet so many nice people here. It's surprising, but I'm very glad."
