Meet and Greet [Intro #2]

You are brought to your campus and shown to your dorm rooms before you are given permission to wander the campus and the town. Meaning Fortitude students can mingle with Conquest students, they can go visit the shop (shop post will be up later today), or speak to the headmistresses and mayor. Each student now has the Exaclan manuals, a uniform, a school bag with either a shield or a sword on it, and the glove used to pull weapons.

But make sure to come to the battle area later to see the exhibition match!

Take advantage of the free day, the freedom won't last long. Sooner rather than the later the round will start, Players will be named, Weapons will lose their privileges, and the battles will begin. So you might as well go out and make friend or start rivalries, anything to help you along later in the round.

Britannia merely gave Suzaku a calm smile, one with a knowing quality to it as she pulled him closer by his arm and started tugging him towards the town again.

"So you never said what you wanted to eat."

Suzaku frowned, he did not trust Britannia, though he was starting to believe she was who she said she was. He frowned more when she took his arm again and started dragging him.

"I don't mind, anything."

"Hmm... maybe something sweet. You look like you've been sucking on a lemon all day." She suggested, giving him a little smirk over her shoulder as they slowly entered the mercantile quarter. Glancing about trying to find something that suited her needs, she noticed that the types of shops they passed were all different.

Books, electronics, music... even an industrial store. Where exactly were they importing all of this from...?

The comment just made Suzaku scowl more but he glanced around anyways. It seemed like an normal town, which seemed to Suzaku that there must be other towns nearby since he hadn't seen any factories or such here.

"How about here?" He pointed to the first place he saw that seemed to sell food, a small cafe.

Glancing at the spot Suzaku pointed to, Britannia nodded slightly when she saw his choice. Cafes had tea and pastries after all, something that should fit for both of them. "Looks good!"

Which of course was followed by her changing directions towards the small establishment.

Suzaku followed her silently, not quite believing that he was being dragged towards a small cafe in an unknown land by a woman who claimed to be Britannia herself.

It was quiet inside, with just a few people sitting eating or drinking tea.

Once inside Britannia took a quick look around, checking to see if there were any familiar faces she could spot. When she didn't, she sighed lightly before pointing at a table by a window with a good view of the street.

"How about there?"

Suzaku shrugged, he didn't really care where they sat. He didn't really want to be here at all. He went over the table anyways.

Not the least bit deterred by Suzaku's silent treatment, Britannia followed him and quickly took a seat, sweeping the coattails of her vest before doing so in order to keep them from wrinkling too much. When she finally did settle down, her posture was notably... perfect. Straight back, one leg folded over the other and shoulders perfectly aligned.

"You know, maybe you're from the future?"

Suzaku sat stiffly, not comfortable at all with the situation. He blinked but quietly considered the question.

"Perhaps, I met someone on the train who claimed to be from the year two thousand and twelve."

"What year is it for you?" Britannia inquired, wondering- if Suzaku was telling the truth- how far she had to wait until Charles was killed and Lelouch became her 99th Emperor. And even though it was treasonous to think such things, those kinds of rules hardly applied to her. Besides, acquisition of the crown through bloodshed was hardly anything new.

To her, it was just the passing of one ruler leading to another and it wasn't like she was really all that fond of Charles. Maybe she had been once, a really long time ago, but these days...? Eh. Ever since the death of Marianne he'd been... distant.

"Two thousand and eighteen," he told her, "What year is it for you?" Though this was confusing, how could people be from the past and yet here at the same time?

"Uh- same. So maybe you're ahead of me by a couple months?" There was a pause before she started laughing. "Oh wow, I guess I got away just before a big mess. Maybe the reason you don't know I exist is because I'm here when Lelouch takes the throne?"

... what? It made about as much sense as randomly appearing in a city with people from the past and future.

"Maybe..." This was making less and less sense, why would Britannia be here from the past if she'd only just arrived.

"You don't count as a god do you?" It was just an idea, and didn't explain why he was here now... but...

Now that made her grin. "Do I look like one?" Came the playful reply as she glanced over the cafe, looking for one of the staff. "I'm just an empire, Suzaku. That's all~"

Yep, just an empire. One that controls half of the civilized world and is the world's dominant military superpower but that's all.

"No," was the reply, he shrugged, just an empire... He would not have thought that Britannia would be modest at all. "Charles tried to... stop time, Lelouch stopped him and denied the gods, I thought... none of this makes sense..."

It was less modesty and more a clarification that even an empire wasn't comparable to a god. If only because even that seemed like a step too far. If there was one good thing to be said of Britannia, it would be that her personality really wasn't similar at all to Charles's. Even he had been quite an extremist in her opinion.

For a moment Britannia was quiet as she looked back at the knight, before pointing out: "Uh- what you just said didn't make any sense either."

Stop time? Deny gods? Huh?

Suzaku shrugged, "It happened, it doesn't make much sense to me either. But the world Charles wished was one without progress, without time... where people just... where as one... unable to make their own choices..."

This conversation was starting to make her feel stupid. "No, I don't- can you start at the beginning? How was his majesty going to stop time and how did gods come into this?"

Suzaku nodded, it was confusing to him as well though he had lived it. "He had created a place, Ragarnok Junction, him, Marianne and VV had planned this when they were very young, along with CC, their aim was to stop time." He paused to see if Britannia was following.

At the mention of those names, Britannia suddenly seemed to get a distasteful look in her eyes as she leaned back and sighed. Suddenly, things made a lot more sense. ... or at least she now knew there were things involved beyond her understanding. She had never really liked the existence of the geass, finding it too confusing and unpredictable. Furthermore, she was always disturbed by how it provided people with immortality when even she wasn't everlasting. Nations got hurt, they could die.

Geass users? Strong enough ones? They never aged, they never grew and they couldn't be killed. Talk about eerie.

"Ooooh, okay. But why stop time?"

Suzaku disliked Geass as well, as it robbed those it effected of will. Not that he argued with Lelouch using it, it was merely a means to an end, to create a peaceful world.

His head was hurting though, because surely means never justified the means... He shrugged at the question. "They wished to kill the gods, to stop time in order to create a peaceful world... yet it was only peaceful for them... it would allow no progress, no one would have choices..."

"His majesty did? Really?" That part surprised her, because Charles had always seemed to be the ideal ruler for her peoples and what they valued. Evolution, adaptation and change. Stopping time like that (and she didn't doubt that he could. Of all her previous rulers, Charles was by far the most well equipped to do it and stubborn enough to see it through.) went against... everything she stood for. The strength of those who moved forward regardless of the odds and the power of those who refused to let an increasingly hostile world keep them down.

Then again, ever since Marianne...

"... So you and Lelouch stopped him. How?"

Suzaku nodded, "That was the motive behind all of his actions, including invading Japan..." He shrugged at the question. "I didn't do anything, I was just there. Lelouch commanded the collective consciousness, the gods to stop, to not stop time and to deny Charles."

He paused remembering, "With Geass, it got stronger and both Marianne and Charles disappeared, consumed by the world of C."

"I really don't understand what you're saying at all." Britannia admitted after a minute, running her hands through her hair and shaking it back and forth. How exactly was she supposed to comprehend all this nonsense when the existence of the geass alone confused her?

And then, a thought. "Lelouch has the geass too?"
