Shion vs. Homura Akemi

Weapons: Madoka Kaname and Ramona Flowers
Location: Grassy area in town
Time of day:After school on Monday

Shion had sent a message to Homura the night before saying he had heard of her from a friend, and would she like to battle. He hoped that she understood that that friend was Madoka and that she was Shion's weapon. He hadn't wanted to write it out in case it was against the rules. He didn't want the two getting into trouble.

He waited at the place they had agreed to meet, Shion smiled at Madoka, glad that he was able to help her.

Homura shows up. She understands the meaning behind Shion's words, and easily steps forwards. Ramona tags along, and they go to the meeting place.

When they get there, Homura wastes no time in drawing the weapon from Ramona's chest. She steps towards Shion, making no gesture to start the fight yet.

"You are Shion. That's correct, right?"

Shion smiled at her again, "I am, you must be Homura," he smiled again before turning to Madoka.

"Can I draw your weapon?" It seemed polite to ask.

Madoka offers a small smile toward her friend before she turns her attention toward Shion at the question. She cannot help the small giggle, grateful she had found him and he was being to kind about this. After all, this was all a little strange.

"Mm, it's okay."

Shion smiled back and put the glove on, reaching towards Madoka he pulled out her weapon. It was a very strange sensation and he hoped he wasn't hurting her.

He had no idea still, how to use this bow but it didn't really matter as he wasn't planning to win. He looked back at Homura again and smiled.

Homura gestures for both weapons to stand aside; once they are both out of the way, she lunges for Shion. She doesn't feel like wasting time; it's best to get this done quickly. She's careful to avoid hitting Madoka's bow. The swing of Ramona's sword is careful and unpolished; she has practiced a fair bit since vowing with her, but she is far from an expert.

Shion kept the bow well out of the way. He didn't want to hurt Madoka as well and it said in the book that damaging the weapon would hurt the Weapon person.

He of course tried to get out of the way but wasn't sure which way to go. He decided on the way that would get the bow out of the way first and felt pain in his shoulder as the sword hit him.

There was no blood though, and no cut. It just hurt, a lot. He put the bow down on the grass and then moved far away from it before turning back to Homura, he would be better able to fight if he didn't have to worry about harming Madoka.

Well okay he still had no chance against a sword but that didn't matter.

She falters for a moment. It's weird, she thinks, to feel and see a sword go right through someone and for there to be no blood. But she adjusts quickly. It's supposed to be this way.

With Madoka's bow aside she poses no risk to her. That's good. With all the grace of an unskilled swordsman, Homura swings in again. The goal is to make him give up. Homura doesn't like to cause others pain. But this is to better protect Madoka in a place where nothing is known, so it's fine. And she has to put up a convincing fight. Loopholes are not often intentional, so it's good to avoid using them.

Shion managed to mostly dodge this time, though he really had no way to fight back. He didn't want to fight or hurt anybody since none of these people meant him harm, everyone was being forced into this.

Still he had to make this look realistic, so he ran towards Homura, planning to grab her arms.

She lets him nearly get her arms-- Homura waits until he's close, and swings for his side.

Shion yelped in pain as the sword hit his side. He fell backwards and to the floor. He didn't give up quite yet though and struggled back to his feet.

She pauses, waiting for him to get up and approach her.

He did so, rushing towards her again, to knock her down.

She runs towards him as well, using the momentum to swing her sword into him.

The sword hit him in the side and he fell to the floor again. He took a deep breath until the pain had subsided a bit he rose again. "I surrender." He said clearly. According to the manual this should end the battle.

Their weapons evaporate. She watches the sword disappear, and then turns to Shion. She'd help him to his feet, but he's already up. So instead, Homura folds her hands in front of her and bows to him very deeply.

"Thank you very much. ... I will not forget this."

Shion smiled and bowed back. "You don't have to thank me, it is unfair that they wouldn't let you see each other." He turned and smiled at Madoka.

Madoka runs to their sides the moment the fight, giving a worrying look to Shion as she approaches but it is clear she is also happy. "Thank you, thank you so much for doing this. If there's ever anything I can do for you, please ask me."

But the worried look returns as she continues to look to Shion. "Are you okay though, Shion?"

"Don't worry, I wanted to do it and I am glad that you can be together now." He smiled, "It was strange but there are no injuries, and the pain is almost gone." He gave a big smile to persuade her that everything was alright.

Weapon Commentary

Ramona stood over beside Madoka, watching the fight. "So she's fighting to bring you to her side, right?"

Off on the sidelines, Madoka picks at the hem of her skirt as she watches. It really was amazing how fast Homura seemed to have learned about the weapon in such a short time. At the question, she blinks and glances toward Ramona with a small nod.

"Mm, Homura-chan and I said we'd work together to find a way home but that's pretty hard to do when we're at different schools. This way, at least I have a way to stay close."
