HOMURA AKEMI vs. LITHUANIA

The fight had been called into place on a few coincidences, really. Lithuania, eager to make sure he knew how to use all of the weapons he was looking after, had held his regular gun practice a little later than usual, and Homura happened to be nearby just in time to see him with the weapon. She'd challenged him; he couldn't bring himself to back down after such a direct declaration.

So here they were, meeting in the courtyard of Conquest school. Classes and other obligations had kept them both busy until the evening--the sun was just starting to set on the horizon. Maybe that made it more picturesque for a showdown, though.

It's very very narrowly that she avoids the bayonet. She feels the tip of it brush her, but it doesn't stab in. Often enough her reflexes have saved her life, and though this is but a game it saved her here too. Her pain tolerance is high, but she knows she'd be slowed down by something like that in her chest.

She gives chase, keeping just an arm's reach behind. He's quick too.

An arm's reach is enough for him right now--Lithuania doubts she can swing that sword so quickly as to catch him completely off-guard while they're running, but he's going to need some more space to do this.

Reaching the buildings, he turns the corner sharply, spinning to fire again and then darting off across the walkway.

Lithuania would be right; it's a heavy sword, and though she has a lot of strength in her she isn't used to the weight of a sword.

But she hesitates turning the corner and her instinct proves her right-- a bullet flies by, something that surely would have gotten her. She rushes after him, wasting no time.

[duchy]

The hesitation is enough for Lithuania to duck off into an alleyway before she turns the corner, and he's quick to keep running down it--though as quietly as one can manage running--and climbing up a fire escape.

If he has height, and she has to climb up to follow him, he'll be able to do a bit more.

[antitank]

She sees him and runs after. It's awkward to climb up after him with a katana in hand, but she manages it. He has height on her... so she steels herself for taking a shot and continues to climb.

[duchy]

He has an advantage for the moment--Lithuania takes the shot, aiming at her shoulder before ducking back, onto the roof. If he can get her to drop the sword that would be convenient, but he doubts it would work. Still, an injury is an injury, even if it's a pretend one.

Thus on the roof, he backs away from the edge--a fall would really hurt them, after all. Still, he's waiting for her to appear so he can take another shot.

It really hurts at first. He hit her dead on. For a moment she clings to the ladder, trying not to fall off. But she reminds herself that her body is just a golem, and that helps to numb the pain.

She crawls up to the roof, and quickly begins to approach again. There's not much room up here for her to rush after, and a fall would be bad. So she just comes dead on. An easy target once again.

Lithuania fires once more, backing up carefully this time as he does so. The location means different disadvantages for both of them, really; Lithuania will focus on keeping her at bay for now and trusting that neither of them wants to win a few raks badly enough to risk falling and breaking their heads open for real.

The bullet grazes her-- she makes an attempt to dodge, but doesn't quite make it. There's no reaction to it.

Closer and closer. She swings at his middle.

[duchy]

Lithuania jerks back on instinct, and though he feels the burn of a connecting strike he ignores it, instead striking with the bayonet again and darting around in an attempt to circle behind her. Keeping Homura moving is the best option up here--he can't let her strike from the same angle twice, because any time she has to adjust for his movement is time he can use.

She backsteps the lunge and rushes forwards. She goes for him again, swinging hard.

[duchy]

Lithuania bursts into movement this time, rolling back and jumping the sword as it comes down, stabbing with the bayonet again. He earns some scrapes for that, but it's no worse than anything he'd get playing around.

[antitank]

Her momentum carries her and she slides down to narrowly avoid the stabs. She faces him again, running with no intention to allow him the time to fire.

[duchy]

Lithuania jerks to one side, running for the edge and leaping in what can only be called a completely reckless attempt at throwing things off again. He lands on the fire escape, ignores how hard that landing really was, and half climbs, half hops down, using his small stature to squirm through any gaps he can get into.

[antitank]

She's completely thrown by that, but not for long. Her hesitation is only a moment. Sliding down the ladder she follows after, clasping the handle of the sword between her teeth as she does so.

[duchy]

On the ground, Lithuania fires again--he doesn't think he'll hit her through the metal of the fire escape, he's just hoping for another bit of hesitation as he takes off running again, out of the alleyway.

[antitank]

She doesn't hesitate, even when the shot hits the metal. Quickly she moves after him.

[duchy]

Lithuania fires quickly when she's on the ground and then turns into the main walkway again. He vanishes into one of the school buildings.

[antitank]

The bullet misses, and Homura follows.

Lithuania ducks into one of the empty classrooms, waiting silently in a corner.

[antitank]

She doesn't follow, instead waiting for him outside the classroom, behind the open door. There shouldn't be any doors leading outside, so he's trapped there.

[duchy]

Lithuania, realizing Homura must know where he is, casts about the room for options. There are the windows, of course, but he's sure he'd make enough noise climbing out of them for her to easily hear. He could charge out, but charging into a sword with a ranged weapon, even one with metal stuck to the end, is ridiculously stupid.

He settles for shoving desks out the door, sending them clattering to the ground, and making a run for it half around and half underneath them; she shouldn't have an easy time hitting him in the clutter, hopefully.

[antitank]

She is quick to get out of the way when the desks come flying out-- she slides in front of one, directly in Lithuania's path of escape. She swings the sword.

[duchy]

Lithuania darts back under the desk in question and then some, looking for another angle of escape.

[antitank]

She dashes forwards-- the hallways lead all around and she doesn't want to be running through the school, so she tries to herd him back where they came.

[duchy]

Lithuania attempts to duck out from under another desk--he'll fire as soon as he has enough room and then dart for the closest door.

[antitank]

She lets him go in that direction-- but she tags just a pace behind him, absolutely not giving him room to shoot. Homura winds up and swings again with the sword.

[duchy]

Lithuania changes tactics and rushes forward--if he can get close enough, not only will he hit her with the bayonet, using a sword of that size should be difficult.

The fact that the movement is erratic is helpful, too.
