Oichi arranges the flowers. It is a very simple arrangement-- one red spiderlily standing tall on its stem, and long stalks of some miscellaneous plant alongside it. It's all in a small black vase.

"So like this... yes... did you know? Listen, listen." She turns to face the class. She has some grasp on what she's supposed to be doing here, but does it with her own incoherent flair. Students have been set up with various flowers and containers; flowers sit on a central table, and containers line the walls.

The room is silent. "Did you know? That these flowers, these pretty red blooms, pave the road to hell." She laughs, hiding her mouth with her hands. And then she gestures to everyone in the room, spinning around and rushing limply behind her desk. "Your turn, your turn... Ichi will look at what you put together, so impress Ichi, ok...? Don't disappoint her... remember to be simple yet strong... beautiful like a death poem, ok?"

"Yes... yes, please and thank you..."

Oichi trails over to Nanami, looking the other girl over. She's very curious of her.

[effortless]

People from their time are rare enough that Nanami is rather curious of her in return - well, she'll admit they aren't exactly companions in time; Oichi is apparently from the sengoku era itself, though Nanami is not familiar enough with it to recognise her name. She seems like the kind of person to make an impression, though.

"The students will learn to make better cuttings soon," she says, by way of vague almost-apology for the uneven stems and occasional torn leaf. Sloppy, and it reflects badly on her. If the Dolorosa didn't watch her... but she does. "Or maybe worse... I can't say they are good students. Not yet."

[bedtime]

Oichi understands, and smiles from behind her hands. "Good or bad... the liveliness is by itself nice, isn't it... Ichi likes the bustle only a room full of heartbeats has..."

[effortless]

"I suppose it is... Well, it must have been annoying to me at first, but one must adjust when it is so difficult to remove them. I was terrible at controlling them initially. So many weak people in one place..."

[bedtime]

"Remove..." Oichi looks around the room as though thinking. "Ah... it'd be easy, Ichi thinks..."

[effortless]

"Too easy. I'm afraid the weeds here are resilient... they spring back up so quickly. Stamping them out becomes a hassle, so... do be careful. I would hate for you to overexert yourself for nothing, Oichi."

[bedtime]

"But even a weed will not survive a fire... the roots can be deep, but if the fire is hot enough, won't it all burn up...?" She laughs a little, hiding her face with her hands. "All Ichi would have to do is tell them, let's go somewhere... let's go... and set that place ablaze..."

[effortless]

Likewise, she giggles, a weak, girlish noise. It's refreshing to have someone who understands how expendable all these creatures are, really. "I would like to see that, someday. I wonder what would happen if they had nowhere to grow back."

[bedtime]

"Do you know of gunpowder...? Ichi has only seen it in the hands of her brother... it's a pretty thing, so very pretty..." She trusts Nanami to know where she's going with that without saying it directly.

[effortless]

"I know of it," she confirms, "Unfortunately, it could be difficult to find, here." By this point, she's reached the table, and begins placing the cuttings with the others in careful order. "Not that you should not try... Ah, but as a prefect, I should not be saying these things. Would you kindly forget them?"

[bedtime]

"Ichi will forget," she says obediently, laughing. "Thank you, Nanami... thank you very much... Ichi is never lonely with you around, so Ichi is grateful..."
