The old Signal [Closed]

Lelouch found his way to the roof of the building the whole incident with Suzaku, Yuki, and Gino had occurred in, and looked out over the campus. It was a nice place, that was for sure, but it just felt like another pretty birdcage. Another barrier to overcome. More memories taken from him. What were those ten things he was missing? One of them was his mother's face, that was for sure. But what else? Did he ever have any way of figuring it out? He would just have to hope it occurred when most convenient for him, not others.

So he had given Suzaku their signal from when they were boys. He knew Suzaku had enough discretion to wait an appropriate amount of time before coming up here himself, so that he wouldn't be followed.

Now that he had a Player that was easy enough to control, he needed to make his next move.

Suzaku waited until the fuss has settled down and until he was sure that no one was following him or watching him before he made himself up to the roof of the building. As he climbed he realised he was feeling much calmer, he was hoping that Lelouch had figured things out, he always was five steps ahead of those they were fighting.

Of course they didn't know who they were fighting but Suzaku still hoped that Lelouch had figured out more than Suzaku had. As he got to the top of the stairway and saw Lelouch he got an uneasy feeling, like there was something about Lelouch he was missing. There probably was, it was probably a memory but Suzaku couldn't think of what it was, he went through what he did know. He and Lelouch had been childhood friends, he had met Lelouch again in the old subway system where they had first seen CC, he had went to Lelouch's school when Euphemia had sent him there.

Then a year after Euphemia's death at the hands of Zero the masked terrorist, the strange funny feeling that he was missing something came again, and after he had become a Knight of Rounds he had been sent back to the school to keep an eye on Lelouch. Why had that been? Suzaku couldn't remember but he figured it was something to do with Lelouch being a Prince.

Then he had been sent to assasinate the Emperor and had found Lelouch there who had then became Emperor and Suzaku had became his knight and they had started their plan to make the world a better place. Zero Requiem, a strange name for it but Suzaku couldn't figure out why.

He shook his head apart from a few uneasy feelings the memories seemed to make sense and fit together, so it couldn't of been anything too important that he was missing. He moved the final few steps and stood waiting for Lelouch to see him.

Last time he and Suzaku had spoken on the roof had been much different. Suzaku had given him someone to speak with on the phone, but he couldn't remember to whom, or why. Rolo had been there too. Another taken memory. That was four he could be sure of.

He looked to Suzaku, and his shoulders dropped a bit. The burdens he had taken onto his own shoulders were now plain as day, a sight only Suzaku and C.C. ever got to see. this was Lelouch with his guard down. "Were you followed?"

Well. As far down as it ever came.

Suzaku stepped closer he too was trying to remember the last time they had spoken on a roof, but it was so blury, so hidden in shadows and his mind kept skipping over things, confusing things. It made his head hurt.

Suzaku was also a little bit more relaxed, more relaxed then he had been around Gino anyways, though he was still wary, still felt he was missing something. He shook his head, he was pretty sure no one had followed him up but he glanced behind himself anyways, no sign of anyone.

He took a breath and then spoke, "I hope you've worked out whats going on..." It was only half serious, well no he really did hope that but he wasn't really expecting it, nothing like this had ever happened before. Still Lelouch figured everything out, he was bound to have more of a clue to what was going on then Suzaku did.

"I have gotten quite a bit of information on the Exaclan system as it was previously, from a student of the former incarnation of this Academy. All of the Players were boys, and the girls were the Weapons. It seemed the girls were treated poorly with it too." There was a measurable note of disgust in his voice. But that was to be expected.

"But in both cases, it's a matter of the strong using their power to control the weak. And what's more, I have work at home to finish." The previous Emperor's habit of isolating himself from everyone bought them some time to get their pieces together, but he didn't know how long it would be until Odysseus or, more likely, Schneizel saw fit to seize the throne for themselves.

Suzaku nodded at Lelouch's words though it was nothing new, Sora had already said so much about her old school and how the boys hated the girls and how they were encourgaed in this and only the boys could be players, apart from Sora.

Lelouch was right though it was just the strong controlling the weak as usual, like every other Emperor or rular in the world.

Suzaku decided to add the information he had learnt from Sora, Lelouch would hopefully be able to use it. "Yes apprantly the head of the corperation that ran the previous academy was called Iwahijiri and it was his hatred of girls that fed into the way the rules were there. There was one girl who was a Player though, she said something about being a glitched player," whatever that meant, "her name is Sora, she is here also but a weapon in this round. She called herself a knight and said it was her job to protect all the girls in her old school, a lot of whome are here also."

He paused a moment before adding, "However they did not lose memories or need to earn tokens like here..."

He nodded after Suzaku share the information he'd learned. It was something he already knew, but at least they were on the same page. "Yes, I've collected that much as well. What is it about Sora Himoto that made the system accept her as a boy?" It wasn't an actual question, he was merely thinking aloud to himself.

"For now, we will collect as much information about this school and the students that came from its previous generation as we can. I can still count on you as my Knight, correct?" There was no doubt in his mind, but he asked anyway.

Suzaku had no answer to Lelouch's first question and so stayed quiet. He stood still and formal and nodded, gathering information Suzaku could do, and it would be easier once he left it to Lelouch to figure out what it meant.

At the final request Suzaku became, if possible even more formal, snapping to attention and bowing his head slightly, "Yes your majesty."
