Dave was slightly started when he heard the door open. He usually kept it unlocked since he didn't care. He kept his stuff on him or locked up safely. But no one really just entered the dorms without having a reason to.

The girl in front of him was unfamiliar. He hadn't seen her at all, and he'd recognize her, he's pretty sure, if she was here last week. She must be new.

There's a pretty long pause in which he just sits on his bed and stare at her blankly. It takes him a little to register the words she just said to him. That she just called him cute. That she even called him really cute. And although he knew he wasn't ugly by any means, just getting a stranger to call him that was, well, a little surprising. Kind of embarrassing. He feels a flush rise and he presses the sunglasses closer to his face and awkwardly waves back.
