Second Beat | And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Characters: Dave Strider and Sora HimotoDave was actually surprised that he gotten through the first round with absolutely no roommates. He knew all the other dorms had more then one person inside, but he wasn't going to complain. It just meant that he didn't have to awkwardly try to socialize with his roommates.
Format: Anything goes aww yissss
This log is: closed
Location: Fortitude Dorms; Black; 2-A
Summary: Dave isn't all that used to roommates. Suddenly he has one that acts like ten.
Warnings: Sora is too friendly for her own good, friend touching, Dave freaking out, stupidity, probably crack was involved, these warnings are terrible, chaos
This, was good. No awkward conversations that ended short because he had to keep showing them bright red text or just give nods and shakes. No one being disappointed that keeping a conversation up with him actually required some effort and determination.
Actually, he gotten pretty used to not having anyone in the room that he almost considered leaving his sunglasses off in them. He decided against it since the beds were a constant reminder that people would eventually occupy them. Still, he wasn't expecting Sora when she arrived. He was kind of oblivious to the storm that was about to hit.

This was going to be amazing. Possibly the situation hadn't sunk in yet, since she chirped a 'good afternoon!' and headed to the centre of the room to scope out which bed she'd like. The second one. The second one looked comfy. She dropped her jacket onto it and spun on Dave.
"I'm Sora! Ah, I just got here... so it's nice to meet you--" A pause, as she blinked and took in his shades. And fluffy pale hair. "Wow, you're really cute."
... Scratch possibly, try 'definitely'.

The girl in front of him was unfamiliar. He hadn't seen her at all, and he'd recognize her, he's pretty sure, if she was here last week. She must be new.
There's a pretty long pause in which he just sits on his bed and stare at her blankly. It takes him a little to register the words she just said to him. That she just called him cute. That she even called him really cute. And although he knew he wasn't ugly by any means, just getting a stranger to call him that was, well, a little surprising. Kind of embarrassing. He feels a flush rise and he presses the sunglasses closer to his face and awkwardly waves back.

"Do we all get these-- oh, is this the manual that lady with the pretty horns was talking about? It looks kinda long..." It gets placed on the floor for that sin. "I'll read it later. Um. Probably."

Dave nods and gets up so he can swipe her manual and turn it to the pages about rules. He then hands it back to her. If she wasn't going to read all of it, she better at least know the rules to keep herself out of trouble.

"Rules? Ah! So if I don't read these I could get someone in trouble? That'd be bad. Thanks!"
Her smile lasts about as long as it takes her to finish the first rule. Then a frown appears and only increases as she continues. "But... this isn't fair. My friends are in the other school."

He sits down on his bed so he can type into his PDA. He can't really do anything otherwise. He holds the screen out to her.
this thing isnt all that fair
to begin with
but if theyre weapons
the players can win them
so theyre technically fighting for the other team
even if theyre from conquest

"I don't really get this, but... if they end up with someone playing for this school, they'll be allowed to come here?" She nodded to herself, and then caught another rule further up the page. "Whoa, I get to wear a uniform." Cue her looking over at Dave again - or rather, his clothes. Huh. It looked kinda weird, but...

otherwise you get penalized for going to the other school
Don't get him started about the uniforms. They suck. They are way too cold for his liking. He could complain about them for probably forever honestly. He shrugs though. If you're indoors most of the time, it isn't terrible. And if you're fighting, it isn't all that cold if you're active.

And then she began to tug off her jacket. Turn around, Dave.

Dave quickly turns around because, wow this is embarrassing. Wow.
