Battle [Thursday]
Weapons: Vriska Serket and Homura Akemi Dave Strider vs. Suzaku Kururugi
Location: Battle Arena
Time of day: Afternoon(After School)
Honestly, Dave was beginning to think being Player to all these girls was kind of cumbersome. Why did they all have to have so many friends? Jegus christ, it's like suddenly he has to find all their friends from Conquest and try to get them back. He's not all that miffed though. If gave him something to do, and a little friendly fighting wasn't bad right?
It's why Dave is standing at the Battle Arena in town, waiting for Suzaku. He didn't really talk to Suzaku before. He was vaguely aware that the guy wasn't so bad.
Dave only got in contact because Madoka got in contact with Homura and it just went from there. He did tell Vriska he intended to fight with her, so here it was. Maybe it'll shut her up and he doesn't have to be around her being so insufferable for a little bit. Dave didn't have anything against this Suzaku guy. Dave just didn't like to lose. And he was a man on a mission. That mission, apparently having a bunch of girls which he barely knew.

He nodded to Dave as he approached, ready to start whenever he was.

He didn't bother asking Vriska if she was ready. He knew she was. They were here for a reason and she wanted to fight.
Dave carefully pulls the weapon out from her and waits for the other to do the same, before moving to any type of offensive pose.

He'd get his answer soon of course once both of them moved into action.

Keeping the shield close he moved again before aiming a kick at Dave's knee, an attempt to knock him off balance.

His mind was set on winning and nothing outside of the battle came to mind. He did a horizontal swipe at the others arm. He was purposely trying to get Suzaku to block with the shield.
no subject
He turned to kick with the other leg, this time aiming higher. A quick jab kick, coming back to behind the shield.

He waited this time, resetting and watching carefully for the next strike.

In the back of his mind, he kind of felt bad. He was throwing everything at the other (especially his apparent rage he didn't know he had), and the other didn't deserve that. But then he idly remembers the sword in his hand belongs to Vriska.

He turned his body, drawing back again so the sword would have limited damage on the shield and then sprung forwards, trying to knock Dave off rhythm by attacking him. He held the shield out to the side and aimed a kick high, towards Dave's chest.
no subject
He swung again, a little harder then his last swing. It was apparent that Dave wanted to end this match sooner then later.
no subject
When the next swing came Suzaku left the shield by his side and stepped into range. He didn't do it on purpose, rather instinctively. He had no idea why, or even that he had moved until he was on the floor in pain.
Sob my heart
He has to tell himself that this wouldn't somehow make the other hate him as he swings at the other, not waiting.

The weapons flickered and disapeared, declaring a win for Dave. Suzaku stood up slowly.

Even if he had managed to bungle it at the end.

It was a fun match. Well, it took his mind off things for a little while.

After the Match[Closed to Vriska and Dave]
But he also felt kind of terrible, because he knew that Suzaku didn't exactly deserve some of those attacks. Dave was annoyed. Angry. He was angry with Vriska. Himself. Everything that's been going on.
The fact he hadn't thrown himself at Vriska was alarming. Apparently his patience is a lot better too. Or his self restraint. But seriously, he wasn't letting Vriska get out of this completely clean. She deserved something. At least, he hoped that it would make him feel better.
As they made their way back to Fortitude dorms, he eventually taps her lightly on the shoulder.

She turned to look at him, continuing to walk, only backwards now. She was pretty sure she wasn't going to run into anything.
"What do you want, Strider? Gonna praise me for being such a great weapon? You don't have to, I already know. But go ahead anyway."
no subject
He couldn't even properly convey why he was so pissed so he quickly made glasses over his eyes then pointed in the direction of the dorm Vriska and Jade stayed in.
Fuck you, he didn't care if you didn't get it. He's trying to punch you again.
no subject
"The fuck is your problem!"
She scrambled to her feet, fist balling to return the favor, but her eyes focus on the sunglasses he's wearing. She remembered watching John get those shitty things, and they were important to him. She wasn't going to destroy something that was important to John. Her fist un-clenched and she went to yank them off his face before slamming her head forward to headbutt him.

His eyes narrowed, red and probably looking a little more fierce then they usually do. But that wasn't the only thing that was red. The skin around his eyes were irritated and red too, like he had been scrubbing at his face for quite awhile.
Dave didn't give her much time to analyze him though because he's tackling her to the ground. Or at least trying to so he can try and beat her to a bloody pulp.
no subject
"You really picked a fight with the wrong troll if you think you're actually going to win!"
LOL lost my shit at Terezi's face
Which is why he didn't bother blocking any of her hits so he can just punch her in whatever available spot was available.
yes good /ruins the seriousness of the situation
Maybe later she'd worry about what brought this whole thing on, but for now her focus was to come out of this victorious. Like she always does.
I love inappropriate icon choices.
He can barely remember why they're fighting already. His mind was too mixed up with everything and he just knows he's really angry and since Vriska was there (and he vaguely remembers Vriska was why he was so angry), it was just second nature to lash out physically. Because he can't scream and he can't vocalize his anger. He has to do it physically.
Also, totally scratching at your face. He doesn't have long nails or anything too damaging, but it'll leave marks at least.
my favorites tbh
She grabs for his hair, nails digging into his scalp to try slamming his head back against the ground. The difference is? Her nails are sharp and dangerous.
no subject
And being mute had its advantages. He couldn't yell or scream in pain, even if his head was swimming as he feels the back of his head slam back against the ground. Dave yanked at her hair roughly so he can drag her face a little closer so he can spit in it. Gross, now you got spit and blood on your face.
no subject
Guilt. Goddamn it. What did she have to thinking something stupid like that now?
no subject
And this is just really fucking stupid. Fighting her and letting himself get beaten up, because he knew this was how it was going to go. But he was still trying to fight back, even if it was kind of sad and even if it was just really all so ridiculous.
no subject
She sits back, hand moving to tentatively touch her eye. Yeah, that shit's gonna bruise. At least it won't last long.
"What the fuck is your malfunction, Strider?"
no subject
Yeah. This was stupid. All of this was stupid. It takes him a moment to realize she asked him a question. God, he's pretty happy that he just can't cry anymore. He'd hate to cry in front of Vriska. Unguarded without his shades. Stuck in a shitty and compromising situation.
He just signs four simple letters from the alphabet.
J-A-D-E.
And he tries to keep his face as passive as he can, but there are so many obvious cracks and he hasn't tried fixing them all yet (and he can't because there's too many).
no subject
"It's isn't my fault she believed me. It's pretty pathetic her faith in you could be turned so easily anyway."
She glances over at Dave, and ugh. There's the nagging guilt in the pit of her stomach. How's she going to explain this to John? Oh sorry, Egbert, your best friend punched me so I tried to beat him into the pavement. She drags her hands through her hair, gripping it tightly and tugging on it as her mind scrambles for any excuse she can use. It's hard trying to be a good person when your whole upbringing is telling you to be a murderer. It's hard and nobody understands.
no subject
He sits up finally and might have shoved her a bit, but he slowly gets to his feet. And it's obvious that his body is aching at how gingerly he gets up. He doesn't do anything else though and shoves his hands in his pockets. Dave looked pretty defeated and it looked like he's just done with everything. That Vriska obviously had won and he just didn't want to deal with any of this anymore.
no subject
That doesn't really help the whole guilt thing, so she looks away as she gets to her feet, dusting herself off and flapping her wings to smooth the crinkles out of them. Which just ends up in a lot more pixie dust on the ground than there is already from the scuffle. She doesn't know what to say so she just leans down to pick the shades up and jab them in his direction.
"If my Eightfold is permanently fucked up because of you, this isn't over."
no subject
Deciding that he's had enough of being around her for the day, Dave just turns his back on her and starts walking. The direction, completely random. But it probably meant he didn't want to go back to the dorms either, so he's just going to find a quieter place to go.
no subject
She moves out of general eyesight, sinking back down to the ground in an alleyway. She doesn't want to go back to the dorms yet, but there's that stupid rule about being out in the city proper unaccompanied by her Player. She's not worried about being caught, it would just be incredibly inconvenient and she doesn't want to deal with it right now. This whole thing is stupid.
