Battle [Thursday]

Dave Strider vs. Suzaku Kururugi

Weapons: Vriska Serket and Homura Akemi
Location: Battle Arena
Time of day: Afternoon(After School)

Honestly, Dave was beginning to think being Player to all these girls was kind of cumbersome. Why did they all have to have so many friends? Jegus christ, it's like suddenly he has to find all their friends from Conquest and try to get them back. He's not all that miffed though. If gave him something to do, and a little friendly fighting wasn't bad right?

It's why Dave is standing at the Battle Arena in town, waiting for Suzaku. He didn't really talk to Suzaku before. He was vaguely aware that the guy wasn't so bad.

Dave only got in contact because Madoka got in contact with Homura and it just went from there. He did tell Vriska he intended to fight with her, so here it was. Maybe it'll shut her up and he doesn't have to be around her being so insufferable for a little bit. Dave didn't have anything against this Suzaku guy. Dave just didn't like to lose. And he was a man on a mission. That mission, apparently having a bunch of girls which he barely knew.

He hits her square in her eightfold eye, and it triples the anger she's feeling right now. It took reaching God Tier to get that back, and even if she can't remember how it works, it's fucking important, Dave. She can feel blood pooling from a couple of scratches that actually broke skin.

She grabs for his hair, nails digging into his scalp to try slamming his head back against the ground. The difference is? Her nails are sharp and dangerous.

She snarls, and there's something extremely feral about it. It's times like these she looks less like a human and more like what her race had expected of her. She scrubs the mixture of her face, free hand moving to grab his throat and dig her nails in. She's kind of glad he can't talk right now. If he tried to beg her at this point, she knows guilt would start eating at her.

Guilt. Goddamn it. What did she have to thinking something stupid like that now?

Vriska relents her grip because she's starting to feel sick about the whole thing. When her nails come away flaked with red, she has to look at anything else that isn't Dave or her embarrassing display. She couldn't even kill someone properly now, what the hell? What kind of troll is she if she can't even finish her conflicts anymore? She's so pathetic, she can't even stand herself right now. She's got too many human emotions showing up and she can't deal with it. She's supposed to be a troll, this is wrong. This is weak.

She sits back, hand moving to tentatively touch her eye. Yeah, that shit's gonna bruise. At least it won't last long.

"What the fuck is your malfunction, Strider?"

Jade? Oh. Ohhhhhhhh. Suddenly things are clicking together and making sense. These are the consequences of her manipulating Jade like that. Well, he was pretty fucking pissed and upset, so she guesses it was a success on that front. She hadn't really expected it to come back on her like this, though. The issue of not thinking her decisions through beyond instant gratification.

"It's isn't my fault she believed me. It's pretty pathetic her faith in you could be turned so easily anyway."

She glances over at Dave, and ugh. There's the nagging guilt in the pit of her stomach. How's she going to explain this to John? Oh sorry, Egbert, your best friend punched me so I tried to beat him into the pavement. She drags her hands through her hair, gripping it tightly and tugging on it as her mind scrambles for any excuse she can use. It's hard trying to be a good person when your whole upbringing is telling you to be a murderer. It's hard and nobody understands.

Her gaze follows him and she's about to snap about that shove, because what are they, three sweeps old? That's so childish. But she's distracted because those glasses are gone - she vaguely remembers yanking them off to salvage them in the flurry of movements. He looks a lot different without them on, and she doesn't have to look at this shitty pokerface of his.

That doesn't really help the whole guilt thing, so she looks away as she gets to her feet, dusting herself off and flapping her wings to smooth the crinkles out of them. Which just ends up in a lot more pixie dust on the ground than there is already from the scuffle. She doesn't know what to say so she just leans down to pick the shades up and jab them in his direction.

"If my Eightfold is permanently fucked up because of you, this isn't over."

That's fine with her. The less time she has to spend with him, the less shitty she feels about handing his ass to him. She wants to feel good about it, and she did. Or she does. But that guilty feeling is telling her she shouldn't and that what she did was wrong. She's starting to wonder if it's some inner Egbert voice trying to moirail her, but that's ridiculous. She's just getting fucking soft, that's all.

She moves out of general eyesight, sinking back down to the ground in an alleyway. She doesn't want to go back to the dorms yet, but there's that stupid rule about being out in the city proper unaccompanied by her Player. She's not worried about being caught, it would just be incredibly inconvenient and she doesn't want to deal with it right now. This whole thing is stupid.
