Summary: Dahlia is killing time by exploring Rakuen.

While she was glad she couldn't be found by the authorities here in Rakuen, Dahlia was starting to get tired of the place. There was nothing to do besides go to school and participate in that absurd game. The waitressing job she'd gotten would only let her work on Saturday, which was fine by her, although it meant there was no possibility of earning extra money during the week.

After class on Tuesday, she went out to town to look around and see what there was to do. Perhaps she would run into one of her fellow students...?

He looked up from his PDA. Guess she wanted to talk to him. Well, sure, why not. He waved back in greeting since he had no other way to vocalize a greeting. Dave kept his PDA out just in case she asked or said something that couldn't be answered by a shake of his head or a nod.

Well, he seemed rude. (She'd never bothered trying to talk to him before.) "How are you doing today?"

[knightime]

...Hmm. He just gives a thumb ups to her to indicate he was good. He then pointed at her curiously. It would be polite to ask back at the very least. Hopefully she understood what he was implying.

Dahlia frowned. No, she didn't understand. "...would you please not point at me...?"

Oh god damn it. He started typing into his PDA and held it up to her.

She leaned forward and squinted at the PDA. Ugh, why did people have to type in weird colors?

"O-oh... I'm sorry, I didn't realize you couldn't... I mean..." She straightened up and looked down at the ground, looking ashamed of herself. "I'm doing quite well myself, thank you."

If she asks nicely, he could just default to shitty black courier. He's a chill guy, usually. Dave waves his hand dismissively to show he didn't mind. He isn't expecting people to be prepared to meet someone who's mute.

He nods though.

She nodded back. "A little... But I suppose it's not all that bad, right?"

He thought about it for a minute. No shitty session where everyone keeps dying and coming back that you don't even know whether to be upset when they die. No meteors destroying the world.

Yeah, it wasn't so bad.

She nodded, and smiled again. "So I suppose the word I would use is... peaceful. Well, if it weren't for Exaclan, that is."

Honestly, he found the Exaclan stuff pretty civil. It was like fighting without the fighting. Kind of. He considered the thing more like a sport.

Dahlia fidgeted. "I suppose that's true... I-I just don't like how people are being treated like objects, that's all."

And if they were, he'd probably be annoyed of anyone taking advantage of the system. That shit was messed up.
