Summary: Kotaro takes his not!bigsister to meet his not!bigbrother
Warnings:
"He's really great and nice," Kotaro was telling Nephenee as he dragged her along by the hand. "Though he's forgotten he's a vampire and it gives him headaches to remember so you have to not mention that okay!"

Kotaro had been talking none stop about how wonderful his new friend Sam was since he met him, so now he was going to take Nephenee to meet him, because they should be friends as well!

"Oh, he's a vampire too?" Nephenee was still unsure about this vampire business, but...Kotaro was a good one. So that meant that his friend was good...right?
"I'm glad ya're making new friends an all. But are ya sure he's safe?"

Kotaro nodded and then pulled a face, "Of course he's safe, why wouldn't he be, even though he can't remember being a vampire I'm looking after him!" He smiled and burst into the infirmary.

"Sam! Are you here?"

Sam sat up from where he'd been taking a nap on one of the cots. Taking a nap during the course of the day seemed to improve how he felt somewhat. But he still didn't feel well at all. Maybe it was his imagination, but sometimes when he looked in the mirror he saw his eyes glowing red. That was probably the most disturbing part. "Yeah, I'm in the back, hang on..."

"Okay!" Kotaro called back and grinned at Nephenee holding her hand as he waited for Sam to appear.

He pulled himself out of the back room, and strode through the door to the front office. He tried to look like there was nothing wrong, but he had deep bags under his eyes and his irises occasionally strayed from their normal bright blue to a deep crimson red that obscured his pupils.

"Hi there," he said to Nephenee, giving her a tired smile. "Is there something I can help you with?"

"Oh, naw, I ain't hurt or nothin. Kotaro wanted me ta meet ya." She smiled, "I'm Nephenee. Kotaro's told me all about ya."

When Sam appeared Kotaro let go of Nephenee's hand and went to hug the other vampire. "Nephenee's my friend! She's really nice!" He took Sam's hand to take him over to Nephenee.

He let Kotaro drag him over, and smiled sheepishly to Nephenee. "Hi," he said, sounding a little out of it. "Dr. Samuel Henderson," he introduced himself, mostly out of habit, extending a hand for a shake. "Kotaro's told me a bit about you."

Kotaro blinked, "You didn't tell me anything was a secret? Was I not meant to tell him about you?" He looked worried, he didn't want to upset his new friend.

"N-no I was just sayin'...it's just a thang to say." She put her hands up, then pushed down slightly in a placating gesture.

"She's just joking, Kotaro," Sam added, smiling at him. This boy really was pretty innocent. "So what brings you guys up here?" He asked, side stepping Nephenee's question.

Chicago was somewhere Kotaro had never heard of, but it wasn't much surprise. "Nephenee is a hero! She fought lots of people to protect her family!"
