Sixth Beat | And We'll Go to the Market to Sell it
Characters: Dave Strider and You!Dave didn't go to see the new arrivals at the Train Station this time. Not because he didn't think it was important to see who arrived, but because he just didn't want to end up socializing then. He still looked terrible. It's only been a few days since he got into a physical fight with Vriska and kind of ate it pretty badly.
Format: Any/Either
This log is: Open
Location: Music/Instrument shop in town
Summary: Dave works at the music/instrument shop in town. For all his lack of talking, he seems to be pretty educated in the stuff in this place. He's bored and he still looks like crap honestly.
Warnings: Dave's very sassy text and a lot of cussing was to be had.
He cleaned up as best as he could and is sitting at the counter of the little shop in town that sold instruments and music. It was nice. He tapped his foot to whatever was playing in the shop and sometimes he'd lip sync to some lyrics to pass time. It kept his mind off things for a little while.
Still, he idly wondered who'd be arriving this round. He stared out at the shop window, fidgeting with the power rings he just bought from Recette's shop. There were two memory charms shoved into his pocket of his trousers. They had homes, but he was stuck at work. He glanced at the clock. Shit, he was doing that thing where he was counting how long it's been. He slams his head against the counter.
text;
i know youre here
yeah
its a free
whatever this place is
the point of the store is for people to come in

text;
Right.
I'm coming in then.
Right now.
[With that. She walks into the store. FROM THE ROOFTOP. Yup, best sister.]
text;
He looks at Sis as disinterestedly as possible. He's trying to pretend things are chill. That he isn't in any bad mood or anything.
He raises a lazy hand in greeting.]
text;
She doesn't know how to feel, or how to deal with Dave right now. She knew something was up, and she didn't know what. Sis was feeling slightly out of the social loop here; it was her own punishment for being elusive.]
Spill it Lil' Man. [She isn't beating around the godforsaken bush today.]
no subject
And if he told Sis, he'd probably fucking breakdown. There was only so much he could take at this point. He was tired and he wasn't sleeping well if at all. And he hadn't made up with Jade yet.
So he lies. It's obvious he's lying, but maybe she won't push if he's stubborn.]
theres nothing to spill
all my dark girly secrets are already out on display
seriously
you cannot understand what this is doing to my self esteem

[She doesn't care. He can't abscond here. She knows this for a fact. Absconding from work gets you fired and stuff, right? Right. She leans on the counter, picking up a drumstick.
She points it in Dave's face, tapping him gently on the nose. Wouldn't want to hurt the kid that bad, yet. She took note of the bruises and the bandages. She wasn't pleased with that, her sibling protection radar was pinging so hard right now.
Even with her elusive nature, Dave is still her sibling, and she will always intervene when he can't seem to handle things himself.]
Who did that to you Dave?
no subject
i mean bear
bears can be bitches so whatever
[Wow, that had nothing to do with anything. Way to completely say stupid things via text, Dave. That will totally convince Sis that you're okay. Obviously.]
its nothing
i just picked a fight
i couldnt fucking win
thats all
no subject
[She tapped the drumstick a little harder on Dave's cheek. Dave, are you willing to tell Sis the truth before she cracks this drumstick on your head? He would be very pleased to do so just for you.
The next part of this text bothers her. Picked a fight and couldn't win? What did he...who did he. Sis trained him, Sis was the one who raised Dave to fight with a Katana, this was a thing you could do.
She partly wonders now if she ever taught Dave how to fist fight. She has to shrug that one off.
She is so disappoint.]
If you don't tell me, I'll ask your Egbert friend.
no subject
And fuck. Egbert. What did you say to Sis?]
what
look
i got fucking upset over some bullshit
and picking a fight with someone whos race
puts them higher then our shitty human selves
after two days of strifing with other opponents
was a bad shitty idea
thats all
i got into a fight
and i might have pissed them off
and they fought back
and i fucking lost and got the beatdown of my life
why is this a thing we have to talk about here???
no subject
[Tapping the drumstick just hard enough to hurt now. Don't fuck with her Dave, you're going to fucking regret it if you do.]
no subject
ok
fuck
just stop it
vriska serket
would you quite that shit?!!
no subject
I'll take care of her.
no subject
why does it matter???
she
er
actually apologized for that shit
it was like watching someone swallow acid
so yeah
also quit fucking hitting me with that
no subject
She would have no problem hitting that teenager square in the nose.]
[2/2]
Why does it matter? You're my brother. You look like shit. I'm your older sister. I kick ass for that reason.
no subject
i knew what i was getting myself into
honestly
it was stupid
i know
[And he found that it didn't make him feel any better after. It just made him feel crappier.]
being beaten up by a spider bitch
is the least of my worries right now!!!
no subject
Shit. Still so unfamiliar. Is this a thing she normally did? Is a thing that happens Dave.]
What would be the most of your worries?
no subject
its nothing
just some bullshit drama
that needs to blow over
no subject
It's going to be okay. I think..
no subject
It was obvious he wasn't so sure about things being okay.]
no subject
Chin up, kiddo. Things could get a lot worse. [She waves her hand in good bye. She knows Dave will text her if he needs her.]
