Dave didn't actually have a reason to be here. The best excuse he could come up would be jacking some food, but even then, that was a stretch. Honestly, he was just probably looking for good hiding places.

And maybe he was just trying to avoid people by wandering around.

He stops and stares at Yuki though. He's met her briefly. She was Sora's friend. He won her from Conquest last round...

When she hears the door open she turns to see who was joining her. If he couldn't tell what she was here for, she's wearing an apron and holding a wooden spoon, that should give it away. Her first instinct was to be afraid of Dave, purely for being male, but surprisingly she wasn't scared. Maybe because she was better or maybe because Sora trusts him, who knows.

"Hello Dave, did you come here to bake as well?"

Even if she couldn't see his eyes, his body language probably let off how damn curious he was at the moment. That, and he sauntered over to the table curiously. He shakes his head at her question, but he doesn't seem to leave. He looked positively fascinated with what she was doing.

Sis never really baked (did she even cook?). So, actually watching someone do this was pretty new to him.

Every so often, Yuri drops by the cafeteria to cook up something when the cafeteria isn't offering what he feels like eating. It might be more work but there's only so many times he can eat pancakes or hamburgers without needing a change of pace, which is why he's stopping by today.

While it's not uncommon to see someone else in the kitchen, it's the first time he's seen Yuki so don't mind him throwing up a hand in greeting as he starts tying back his hair.

"You can stay if you would like, but I may ask you to help," she smiles warmly at him. Yuki can tell that he's curious about her baking and thinks that it is rather cute. The boys she was used to would probably make some rude joke about women and kitchens, so this was a nice change.

She hands him a bowl that once housed the batter for cupcakes, there is some remaining in it, a little that she didn't bother to scrape off, "Would you like to try the batter? It tastes good."

God, he loved that he keeps such a good pokerface outside sometimes. But he was sure he lit up just a little. Maybe he wanted to try it. Even if it was so fucking domestic he could make Dave wife jokes until he would be literally beating that dead horse with another. But...he never got to do this shit before. And maybe it'll keep his mind off things.

Dave looked into the bowl, swiping some of the batter onto his finger so he can lick it off. Shit, this stuff is good.

Oh an older male, Yuki is just going to stiffen up for a moment before allowing herself to relax. He was here to cook, not to hurt her so she should be okay.

"What are you making?"

He did, in fact, light up a bit, and Yuki noticed it. She smiles a bit wider in response and is noticeably happy when Dave likes the batter. Because he seems to like it so much, she'll make some more (you can never have enough cupcakes, that can be her excuse).

"I'm glad you like it! I think we're going to need some more cupcakes so I was planning on making some more. Would you like to help me? You can have that batter as well. We can make a different type too."

Dave nodded slowly. He'd like to help. But then he kind of stood dumbly in his spot. He didn't know jackshit about baking. Sword fighting, he knew. How to lay out some sick beats. He knew how to do that too.

Baking and doing generally normal shit? Fucking clueless.

"Ah, if you don't know how to then I can teach you, then we can serve your first cupcakes at the sleepover! That is, if they're your first. But we can serve them anyway," stop talking Yuki, you're babbling.

She turns away from him to gather the necessary ingredients. She made chocolate already, so this batch can be vanilla, and maybe she can make a third batch of a different kind. Strawberry maybe.

Yuki gathered all the ingredients in her arms and brings them over to the table she was working at before, "Have you not cooked before?"

With only one eye on her because of the way he's standing, when Yuki stiffens he has to blink, wondering if he imagined it. Surprise at his appearance, maybe? Or fear? He can't exactly tell, so he'll just not bother to comment as he finishes tying the knot on the band around his ponytail.

"Depends on what they've got in stock. Probably something sweet though." The latter comment is added with a grin and shrug as he starts perusing the contents inside the fridge. "What about you?"

Yuki busies herself with the baking supplies in front of her, "I'm making cupcakes for the sleepover later," she doesn't look up from the flour as she speaks but mentally berates herself for being afraid of him, he's not from her school and would most likely not hurt her.

He tries to not look so hopeless. But that sounded kind of nice. He could give cupcakes to his friends. Oh dear god, this is too fucking domestic for him. He might as well start trying to invest in achieving breasts while he's at it or something.

Dave is looking through the ingredients curiously. The only thing he ever remembers being in their cupboards at home was maybe sugar. Most of this shit, he had never really seen.

The blank stare he gives her is probably a good indication of not having cooked before.

Maybe it's a good thing Dave can't speak.

She rubs the back of her head, "I'll take that as a no, well you need to start somewhere," she smiles at him, "First you need some bowls and measuring spoons, I put them in the sink before, can you get them for me?"

"Sleepover?" There's a pause as Yuri finally decides based on what's available and pulls out a few containers as well as an assortment of fruits. Mostly blueberries, strawberries and the like. That complete, he takes up a counter across from Yuki and starts pulling out cutting boards, knives and a strainer.

"You mean the one that poster was talking about?" And now he's off to the cabinet where, after some deliberation, he pulls out two clear and tall glasses.

Oh. She asked even. Instead of ordered. Shit, why are people here so mindnumbing nice? It's throwing him off pretty bad. But he listens and moves over to the sink to get them. He made sure they were clean or something before returning with them.

At least he knew enough to know that you shouldn't cook with dirty things.

Nephenee was more than happy to make snacks for the sleepover, and she came armed with an apron she had bought and a lot of love in her heart. And everyone knew that was the secret ingredient to the best baked goods.

"Hello?"

Yuki doesn't give anyone orders unless it's really important or everyone is being dumb and not getting their work done. She smiles when he hands her the bowls, "thank you."

She pulls the measuring cup out of the bowl and starts measuring some of the dry ingredients, narrating as she goes along and pausing ever so often to make sure Dave understands or isn't bored, "here, now you try," she offers him an empty bowl.

She watches him take out the ingredients, "Yes, the one from the poster, I thought I would bring some sweets for it and I believe others wanted to bake as well," it isn't until after he takes down the glasses (two, she notes, and is a bit embarrassed at the thought he may be making her one) that she asks, "are you making parfaits?"

Oh god damn it, she makes this look so much easier then it really is. If they were giving awards for messiest fucking baker, Dave wins hands down. On the upside, he actually does follow the directions she's explained. Downside, his workspace is a mess and they've barely started.

Yuki peeks around the corner to see Nephenee, "Hello, I'm back here. Are you here to bake as well?" she smiles at the other girl, "I just put some cupcakes in the oven and thinking of what else to make."

Yuki cleans up after him as he goes along, preferring to keep her workspace clean rather than messy. But she's proud of what he's done so far. She claps her hands in joy, accidentally giving off a small puff of flour, "good! Your measurements were perfect."

She starts showing him how to mix the wet ingredients and to slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet.

He can see why kids always want to mix in those shitty movies and television shows. Shits therapeutic. Or, well, it's kind of fun. Not as fun as most of the other stuff he does, but this wasn't so bad.

And at least Yuki seems to have done a good job at distracting Dave by having him concentrate on remembering how to do this.

"Yikes." The comment is made in light of the fact that she's trying to cook for (presumably) everyone attending. It's a big job when you consider how many mouths there might be to feed. Just cooking for his small group when they were traveling together was a pretty big chore. "That's a lot of baking."

Glasses acquired, he returns to his station and starts putting the fruit into the strainer so he can rinse them in the nearby sink. At her question, he shots her a grin and a mischievous wink. "Yeah, I'm pretty good at them. Interested?"

Koharu had slipped in while Yuki was talking to someone else and started peering through the kitchen, contemplating something savory to balance out all this sweet.

"Not enough time for something big..."
