Fortitude: Round 3 Start

The morning after the sleepover, Dolorosa is quick to get all of the Conquest students out the door to save them the wrath of Day and Santana. She gives her students a little more time but still hurries them so she can start the assembly on time. She didn't want her school to be in any disadvantage.

Some may notice that her ever present smile is a bit wider today, as she stands behind the podium, two prefects in tow. That's right, two prefects. Lelouch has reached prefect status and stands besides the ever cool Nanami. Dolorosa is eager to begin her speech.

"Welcome, my students. Last time we were here we suffered a gracious defeat, but I am happy to announce that this is not the case this round. We have obtained victory over Round 2, and I would like to say that I am proud of you all. You all fought wonderfully and no matter if you won or lost your match, Fortitude came out on top."

"If this were Conquest, or I a different troll, I would urge you to keep winning, to keep defeating Conquest, but we are not them and I am not different. Instead I would like to extend a congratulations for this round, and hope you try your hardest next round. Win or lose we can show that we are a cohesive school, here for more than just battle. I am proud of all of you, and just as we were gracious losers, I expect you all to be gracious winners as well."

"I'm sure you have all noticed the extra Raks you have obtained for winning the round, I hope you treat yourseld to something nice. Without further ado I will announce the battles that occurred this round."

Behind her, the battle records appear.

She starts with the Fortitude battles, "I am always proud when there is little fighting within our school, but I do encourage competition, so I would like to congratulate Dahlia for defeating Yuri, and Yuri for defeating Oichi." she applauds a bit.

Next up, the interschool battle, "For those who fought Conquest and won, I would like to congratulate Dave for defeating Marik, England for defeating Suzaku, Dave for defeating Suzaku, Oichi for defeating Suzaku, Dave for defeating Estonia, Marisa for defeating Nephenee, Dave for defeating Gino, and Yuri for defeating Gino." She applauds again.

"My last congratulations go to Dave, Marisa, and Oichi for winning the roung and helping Fortitude achieve victory!" And some more applauding.

The screen behind her changes again, "This round's Players are...

John can't make out all of the names, but he can catch enough that he knows that he's not a Player, and neither are Jade or Dave. That's the important part for him. Now, he just had to find them and maybe find somebody who would vow with all three of them! That way they could be sure that they all had rights, and--

Well, really, he just wants to make sure Dave and Jade are ok.

One (1) Deaf Teenager standing in the middle of the crowd trying to find his friends? Check.

Dahlia was surprised and glad to see her name on that board again, but she let a look of false disappointment cross her face.

"M-me? Again? I-I can't... No!"

[revelation]

The moment she heard her name leaves her sitting with a look of surprise and it remains until the speech finishes. Madoka knows fighting isn't something she wants to do, quite the opposite really but after everything Players have done for her in the last two rounds, she knows she at least wants to do all she can.

So, with a deep breath she stands and gives a curious look around. Just one step at a time, really.

Reimi stared at the list. She knew she hadn't been called, but what did that mean? She stared worriedly at the screen. According to the manual, she needed to find a Player now... oh, what to do, though? She didn;t know many here...

Stare...

Approach the Headmistress

Dahlia approached the stage and looked up to Dolorosa worriedly.

"Excuse me, madam, but there must be some mistake."

[veepofchess]

Lelouch is hanging around with Nanami and Dolorosa, looking pretty bored. But he's wearing that spiffy Prefect's hat! That's new! So that means people should come bug him.

Reimi approaches Dolorosa and clears her throat a little before bowing, "Miss Headmistress, am I correct in thinking that my next step as one not called is to attempt to find a Player to claim me?"

[mamarosa]

Her smile turns into a small frown, "I'm sorry, child, I do not control who becomes a Player. There is no mistake though, you were in fact chosen for this round."

[mamarosa]

Dolorosa smiles at her, she is rather cute, "Yes dear, you're a Weapon this round, I suggest finding a Player to wield you. Perhaps one of your friends has been called?"

[traces]

Dahlia's big eyes wavered with disappointment. "But... but I can't... I'm no fighter. I can't bear to hurt anyone else!"

[has_soothing_bells]

"Um...the only person I recall being acquainted with that was called is Mr. Lelouch." She says, frowning, "I don't much care for Vantas- he is a little too loud for my tastes."

[pencilpremonition]

[DO NOT WANT. Becca comes over to whine about things.]

Headmistresssssssss I can't fight!

Shion was stood alone near the back listening to the assembly, applauding when necessary. He still did not like this system but they were stuck here and they had to do as well as they could within this system.

When his name was called he just stared at the screen in horror. Not again... he couldn't... do this again...

He was shaking as he stared.

[mamarosa]

Dolorosa really feels sorry for her, "There is a way to win without fighting, just collect six weapons and you won't be made to battle."

[mamarosa]

"Then why not go and approach Lelouch and ask if he will vow to you, I'm sure he will not turn you down," she laughs a bit, "Yes, he can be a bit loud at times."

[mamarosa]

[she flashes a (hopefully) comforting smile]

If you collect six weapons you won't be made to battle.

[traces]

"O-oh..." That was right, wasn't it? The manual had said so. That would be ideal, really; she wouldn't have to risk getting hurt that way. "Um... Th-thank you for the suggestion..."

[pencilpremonition]

Well, he looks awkward. Hopefully it's because he's stuck without a player. Becca walks over and smiles, hoping to be charming, but really just coming across as a bit of a bitch.

"Hey, I'm Becca. Need a player?"

[pencilpremonition]

Becca saw him start to shake, and she went over to try to take Shion's hand. They were both players, there'd be no penalty this time. "Hey...you can do it. If I can do it, you can do it. It's gonna be okay."

[pencilpremonition]

Yeah, like that's gonna happen.

[traces]

After speaking with the headmistress, Dahlia set out to find some weapons to vow with. Six of them... That shouldn't be too hard.

When she caught sight of a cute young girl she hadn't met before, she stopped to greet her. "Ah... hello. You wouldn't happen to be a Weapon, would you?"

[has_soothing_bells]

"Very much so...Very well, I shall see about doing this." She bowed again, "Thank you, ma'am." Turning, she went off to find him.

[mamarosa]

"I'm sorry there is no other way, just try and do what you are able to."

[mamarosa]

"You're welcome. Good luck in your endeavor."
