world meeting, BACKDATED to the rest day

Characters: all of the nations!
Format: either [action] or prose
This log is: relatively closed.
Location: in town, near the lake.
Summary: what it says on the tin.
Warnings: politic-shaped things.

Estonia wasn't exactly known for leading diplomatic discussion, so it was a bit of a sense of pride that she had managed to talk at least what she assumed to be the other nations here into a meeting. Perhaps things wouldn't be so bad here after all, if she could get plenty of recognition and... who was she kidding? She missed her people and her sisters and friends, particularly now that Latvia had gone missing from Conquest. She had Lithuania and Ukraine, at least, so that would have to do.

She's early for the meeting, of course, after having sent everyone reminder messages of it before she left the campus. Don't be late!

((ooc: wow guys, I'm so sorry I never got around to putting this up, due to IRL reasons. but it's up now, feel free to threadhop and enjoy to your hearts' contentment.))

America just continued to stare at the other nation blankly. "Never heard of ya..." He mumbled through a mouthful of hamburger. Reaching over to grab yet another burger from the pile and practically inhaling it down. Alfred could have sworn that the person in front of him acted like she knew him. Then again, everyone in this room knew about him, it was a bit hard not too after all. He is the hero!

"United States of America." He stated enthusiastically before thrusting a hand towards her.

When America offered her a hand, she merely stared at it for a moment before taking off her glove to shake it. Grease never came out of cloth and she didn't know when she'd be able to replace the uniform, so better to deal with the greasy feeling on her skin than know it was on her outfit.

"Probably because neither of us exists in the other one's timeline." She remarked casually as she shook once, firmly but not in an attempt to test the other's strength, before taking her hand back and wiping it off with a handkerchief beneath the table. All the while never letting the smile on her lips falter. "I guess you could say we're from different worlds."

Normally he would argue that his burgers weren't all that greasy. But whatever, he gave her hand a firm and strong shake. In truth he wouldn't really attempt, nor care, about reading a person through a handshake. And that would probably be for the best.

Oh, wait, that other world stuff again? This was what? The third or fourth time that he's heard something like that? America could feel yet another headache coming on as his mind worked to interpret the logic of others being from a different world. "Ya are?" Normally this fact would either excite him or cause for a bit of confusion. But he's already dealt with enough people making that claim as it is for it to not be much of a novelty anymore. "Wait, how can neither of us exist?" There was going to be even more confusion on his part, he just knew it.

"Well..." Britannia began carefully as she slid her glove back on, adjusting the cuff so that it settled properly. "That's because for you to exist, your Revolutionary War had to end in success. For me, however, it had to end in failure."

Uniform fixed and appearance perfect once more, Britannia rested her elbow on the table and settled her chin onto her palm. "So you can see why it's impossible for both of us to be nations in the same world."

"Hahaha!" A little bit of food began to spew out of his mouth as he began to laugh. It was clear that what she had just said had amused him, and that he didn't exactly have the greatest table manners around. "There's no way I would have lost man~!" The idea of him losing was just so funny and scary at the same time. Besides, even if he somehow lost the war he wouldn't have died. If anything he probably would have just kept fighting England until he just up and left him alone.

At the spewing/laughter, Britannia sat back quickly, unable to mask the look of distaste that crossed her face as she quickly adjusted her seating to be out of range.

"Can you please cover your mouth? That's a little gross."

Suddenly, she was starting to feel that she had been far too lenient to those who constantly compared her to this man.

He kept chuckling, a large grin still planted on his face. It was also probably clear that he didn't care much what she thought of him. "Sorry, sorry~!" And then he went straight back to eating another hamburger, or two, or three. "By the way, why are ya wearing that?"

[personal profile] countryofassholes 2012-02-11 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
... much too lenient.

Momentarily distracted from dodging flying chunks of food, Britannia merely decided to push her chair as far away from the table as she could without appearing rude and merely smiled blankly. "Wearing what?"

[personal profile] heroiccia 2012-02-11 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Once again, he really couldn't care less if she was rude to him or not. He doesn't really know who this person is, or what they're like. So he just doesn't care. Unless, of course, they need to be saved. Then he would be all over that shit in seconds. "Ya know! Whatever it is that you've got on!"

Does he really have to resort to pointing? You know he will.

This was clearly a case of different upbringing, different cultures, different... everything. How was it that out of the two of them, she was the more mannerly one?

With a sigh, she shrugged.

"If you mean my uniform, this sort of clothing is pretty common where I come from. Since I'm representing my empire, I thought it would be appropriate."

"It makes ya look really stuck up." What was wrong with wearing just simple, nice clothing? Something that didn't make a person look like a they're walking in a marching band? Not that America had anything against people in marching bands, but still. There is a time and place to look like a snob. And if anything, this person reminded him a bit of what's his name, and Austria.

Maybe, he had just met this nation today, and felt that it may or may not be a bit to early to make any comparisons. So he just kept munching on his hamburger. "You should wear something less stuffy. Like what I got on!" Something nice and simple was always better than something complicated after all.

"Isn't that a little too casual for something like this?" She inquired, sitting back in her chair and crossing one leg over the other as she glanced further down the line and watched the other nations communicate with each other. "Even if it is unofficial, we're still representing our people."

"Haha! I wouldn't worry too much about it dude! No one here cares!" So long as, you know, they're not naked. Although some people would probably like such a thing. Modesty is a virtue after all. "'Sides man, it's better than lookin' like a snob!"

For a moment Britannia was silent, giving America a searching glance before she laughed.

"You're very honest, aren't you?" Read: blunt/rude. "I can't imagine that wins you many friends on a personal level." Because treaties don't count. Those are bonds forged by their bosses.
heroiccia: (Chibi)

[personal profile] heroiccia 2012-02-11 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
And America started to laugh with her as well.

"Well yeah! The hero has to be honest after all!" Plus it was in his nature to be. "And I totally make lots of friends!" Then apparently she isn't a very friendly person.

Right, she's going to translate that as he feels he does but is in reality quite oblivious.

As far as first impressions go, Britannia is not feeling all that favorably towards the man she's quickly coming to see as an idiot. Before she merely thought he was pitiable since her earliest memories of him are as a sullen, frustrated nation unable to break free. In this instance, she can't help but feel it was better he never succeeded in her world. Not if this is what he's going to become and that icy feeling is carrying over to her expression.

"Is that what you are? A hero?"
heroiccia: (Default)

[personal profile] heroiccia 2012-02-11 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Haha! Yep! Of course I am!" His enthusiasm hadn't died down one bit. And he didn't seem to have taken notice to any icy undertones that her words or expression may have. Instead, he returned her words with a warm and happy tone of voice. It was clear that he still didn't care much what she thought of him right this second. As far as he's conserned, she's just some sort of stuffy and arrogant person that probably needs to be brought down a peg or two.
countryofassholes: (don't need something like fate.)

[personal profile] countryofassholes 2012-02-12 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
(Maybe closer to a dozen pegs.)

That response, so enthusiastic and light-hearted makes her laugh a little in reply as she considers the answer. It's such a childish delusion, in her mind, making him seem much younger than he actually is.

Which reminds her, he would technically be another 'big-brother' for her, wouldn't he?

How... awkward. "Do you have a special name to go with that?"
heroiccia: (Pouting with female self)

[personal profile] heroiccia 2012-02-12 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
A special name? Did she mean his human name? He obviously had one of those. "Well, my human name is Alfred F. Jones." That was what she was asking for. Right? Had to be!
countryofassholes: (bestow the power of love unto us.)

[personal profile] countryofassholes 2012-02-16 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's a pretty average name for a hero." She remarked calmly, understanding that he had mistaken her question to be for his human identity rather than his costumed one. Fine by her, really, since this conversation seemed to have hit it's peak of usefulness and was now little more casual banter.
heroiccia: (Techi)

[personal profile] heroiccia 2012-02-16 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
He didn't care if it was just a casual conversation. If anything America actually prefered such convesations. "So? A lot of heroes have average names." Was that really a problem? He thought it was an awesome name. Besides, the name didn't make the hero after all. "So...what's your name?"
