Fortitude: Round 4 Start

You may notice that once again the number of Prefects by Dolorosa's side has risen. On the stage with her is Lelouch, Yuri, and Gamzee. Nanami has been sick the past few days and will be missing the assembly, something that is rather routine by now. Dolorosa talks amiably with the three present Prefects before the assembly starts.

It should be a familiar scene by now, Dolorosa smiling out over her students.

"Hello, my students, another round has come to an end and another is starting anew. We were not the victors of round 3 but, just as you have in past rounds, everyone fought well," she laughs a bit, "And perhaps maybe it is a bit safer for all of us that Conquest has won the round, so I congratulate you on avoiding the wrath of Day and Santana." She can't help but poke fun at her fellow staff members, it is easier to make light of the situation than punish her students unnecessarily.

"The downside of losing is that you are not rewarded the extra Raks, but let us not dwell on defeat and instead focus on the victories of the round," behind her, as per usual, the Battle Records show up on the screen.

"I am once again proud of my students, you very rarely battle among yourselves, not that I am discouraging you. I extend a congratulations to Shion for defeating Becca."

As the inter-school battle records show up on the screen she looks surprised but not disappointed, "For Inter-school battles we should congratulate Lelouch," she turns to her Prefect, "for defeating Feferi." That's right, Fortitude won a grand total of two battles, one of them fought against itself. Students should take a moment to be relieved over the fact they are not in Conquest.

"Lastly, we should congratulate Dahlia for winning the round," Dolorosa begins to applaud for all the victors.

"And without further ado, the Players for round 4 are:

Oichi
Dave
Gamzee
Marisa
Jade
Inui
Spain
Nanash

Have a wonderful round."

Before answering she looks at the board to make sure her name wasn't there. She shakes her head, "No, it was not called. Should it have been?" For a moment she was glad her name wasn't called, there are plenty of people who would like to see her dead and broadcasting her name would clue them in to her whereabouts.

"Not really. It just means you're a Weapon, and the people whose names were called are Players. Weapons don't have any rights unless players give them some." Jade doesn't know why she looks concerned, but understands all the same. Her first round, she got lost in a crowd of people and burst into tears.

"I'm Jade. What's your name?"

She had no rights? It felt oddly familiar to have no rights, but it also felt infuriating. It was almost as if she had to pledge allegiance to a King in order to be a basic human being. Maybe this place and home were not so different.

"Daenerys," she says, offering no last time lest that give her away, "Are you the Jade on the board?" She points to the list of Players.

"That's me. I think I'm the only Jade here right now." She thinks the other girl's name sounds beautiful; she repeats it under her breath a little, and then spells it out in ASL to make sure she remembers it. "I know we just met, but...do you want to vow? I would give you all the rights and stuff, so you could go anywhere you wanted."

Daenerys watches Jade with curiosity as she spells out her name in ASL. She cannot begin to imagine what the hand signs mean and is pretty sure she is not signaling another person about Dany's presence, but she looks over her shoulder just to make sure.

"What is it you just did with your hands?" she asks finally, giving in to her curiosity.

At first she wonders if she should trust this girl, Jade, she reminds herself, as they just met. But Jade only gave off vibes of peace and trust, Dany couldn't come up with any reasons to not team up with her, "I would like that," she smiles.

"Oh. It's a language." She holds up the symbol for each letter and says them aloud. Her name's slightly misspelled, but at least it helped Jade to remember? "My friends speak it, so I've been learning how to speak it too. I bet they would teach you, if you wanted to learn."

Daenerys smile and shakes her head, "My name is spelled D-A-E-N-E-R-Y-S, but it is honorable of you to learn the language your friends speak. I did the same when I was wed to my sun and stars," she looks a bit surprised at the offer, "I would like to learn if you do not mind teaching me."

"Oh. I was really off..." she giggles slightly, respelling the other girl's name. The thought of marriage makes her blush a little bit; the girl must really love whoever she married, to learn his language. She must also be an adult or something, to get married. So cool.

"Okay. It's really fun, you wave your arms around a lot. Kind of."

Calling Dany an adult was both correct and incorrect. She's seen many horrible things, was wed, has been in love, been pregnant, gave birth, is a Queen, but even still she is far from an adult. Daenerys is still young and hopeful, perhaps even a little naive.

"Wave your arms around? What is the purpose of that? You may strike someone."

"Because people who can't speak use ASL, so they have to use their bodies to talk. Or people who can't hear, too."
