Class - Puppy Training!

Summary: Class is in session and it promises to be adorable.

[Today, students who meant to attend Rafiel's class (which up until this point has been purely textbook, video and oral based,) will probably be surprised to find the classroom door is closed with a note taped to it.



Should they choose to do so, when they get to the arena the area seems unusually... noisy. Especially since there's no battle going at the moment. Get closer to the center of the stadium and they'll find the arena's gates have been shut but are currently unlocked, presumably to allow students in. Beyond that, however, are... puppies. Everywhere. Yapping, tumbling all over each other or napping and being harassed by their siblings and fellow furry kinsmen. There's a shallow kiddie pool on the far end filled with water, presumably to keep them hydrated, and above that in the stands and surrounded by a plethora of napping dogs is Rafiel who seems to be singing quietly to keep the ones around him calm.

Beside him are various boxes which, at a first glance, seem to be filled with anything and everything you could ever need to take care of one of the furballs running around behind the gate. (The dog treats have been hidden in air-tight containers at the bottom.)

Welcome to the hands-on portion of puppy training.]


[ooc: This log is open to anyone from either Conquest or Fortitude, students and teachers alike. (Although, only Fortitudians will be able to keep their puppy companion. Conquesters looking to do the same will have to start attending his class.) If you you have a preferred puppy breed, feel free to bring it in. (Real or otherwise.) If not, pick one from the list! After which, go nuts. Mingle, threadjack, hold competitions, bicker about whose puppy is cuter and hold races. I'll pretend I know what I'm doing.]

S-she's so soft. Is it okay to hold her?

[ Jade is standing beside her, staring at all the puppies

oh my god the one in the corner Jade wants it

and another one
and another oh god

It's probably the first time she's outright grinned at anything since arriving in Rakuen. ]

Puppies are supposed to be picked up!

[ And Jade walks over to the shy puppy in the corner, offering him her hand. He sniffs it, then wags his tail, giving it a lick. ]

[ John is not entirely sure what to expect when he pushes the door open - he can't hear the yapping and various adorable puppy noises heralding the fluffy chaos awaiting within.

But then he's in there and there are puppies and he doesn't even know where to start to cuddle and pet them all when there's a solid bump against the back of his legs and he turns to find this ball of fluff standing behind him happily grinning up at him. He grins back and crouches down to pet and scritch and cuddle.

OH MY GOD IT'S A PUPPY. ]

They are..? [ WELL THEN. She follows Jade's behaviour and ends up with an armful of puppy. It seems to be a little drugged on Rafiel's singing so it isn't that alarmed by this. ]

I think it would be okay to, that's why you're here, right?

[Roped in for all his good-deeding and what not, Yuri can be found over in the corner seeing to the pool and making sure the dogs stay hydrated and keep their messes to the corned he designated for it.

(Because who could walk by Rafiel struggling with a box and not offer help? C'mon.)

As he works (gingerly and always careful of his steps) there's a eskimo puppy perched quite cheerfully on his shoulder as he maneuvers the hose and manages to only get himself wet when a black lab hits him from behind and sends him flying into the water.

WELP.]

Yeah, you're right! [ SCOOPS IT UP.

In precisely the way Rafiel showed them, too. No one can say she isn't a great kinestetic learner. ]

[Rafiel, finished his singing at this point, has joined the students in the center area and wanders about, glad to see everyone's smiling faces. Given what happened at the start of this round, he's glad he could at least provide a little reprieve from the difficulties of this island.

When he sees John happily making friends with one of the dogs, he stops and kneels down slightly, placing a gentle hand on John's shoulder to let him know he's there. He knows the boy is deaf and unable to talk easily, so he'll let his smile convey his feelings.]

What are yo-- [ OH NO.

THIS IS TERRIBLE. WHY ARE YOU DOUSING THOSE PUPPIES IN WATER-- oh spirits the guy's fallen into the fiendish liquid too this is an unmitigated tragedy.

BRB sprinting over to pull you away from the water, whoever you are. OKAY you're out. You aren't in immediate danger. And then let's get all of these puppies away from it too. They aren't that happy about this but it's for their own good. ]

[Yuri, who was in the process of rubbing water out of his eyes while the eskimo puppy sits on his head, immediately puts a hand up to steady it as someone yanks him out.]

Whoa-! Relax, it's only ankle deep- [Wait. He knows that voice.] You gotta be kidding me...

Even the slightest amount can be dangerous. [ calm yourself random citizen. Oh no you're covered in water! luckily he has a waistcoat he can pull off and dry your head with. STAY STIL--

wait that voice. ]

Yuri?

[ still drying you though. The danger isn't over. ]

Is this a class on your campus? [she pets her happy puppy] Such a nice class.

It's Puppy Training. Mr. Rafiel teaches it! [ yes omg it is the best class apart from the physical ones ]

That one really likes you. Maybe he'll let you train it, Yuki!

[and she really likes the puppy too] But I think I heard something about only Fortitude students can keep their puppies, since you have the class and the training.

We can ask him! [ puppy in one arm, takes Yuki's arm with her free hand OFF WE GO ]

No, it's Ioder. [/end sarcasm] Care to let me up?

[waddles]

[You can't miss him, he's the guy with wings who's currently entertaining a small Pomeranian puppy on his lap over by the toy boxes.]

I've told you before to be more careful. [ NO. NO GETTING UP UNTIL YOU'RE DRY YOUNG MAN. ]

Oh yeah? Well I keep telling you water isn't dangerous. [But Yuri knows by now that in 3... 2... 1...]

[ in fact, Flynn is already starting to haze over due to Yuri being totally fine. His words only drastically speed up the process. ] Of course it-- Huh?

[ All Dahlia has is her school uniform, so she arrives at the arena wearing it.

Oh god. What the hell is this. She stands there, looking rather unsure of herself and nervous. ]

[Well at least this is a class that Shion will be good at. His face breaks into a smile as he sees all the puppies.

He doesn't so much chose his puppy as his puppy chooses him. This furball running at him excitedly and jumping at him. Shion laughed as he petted it.]

[Becca is trying desperately to get the attention of some adorable little fluffball that would fit in her school bag. This dog has other ideas, and bowls her over to sit on her back and begin licking her hair. She flails uselessly, and reaches out for Shion's ankles.]

Shion, help!

[Dave wasn't the biggest dog fan. But he did love animals, and even if he wasn't like the hugest dog lover ever, he still had a soft spot for the little darlings.

He lets out a breathy and silent laugh as he kneels down next to a rather adorable golden retriever puppy. Dave seems surprisingly relaxed and there's a smile on his face as the small dog tries to climb onto his lap. Okay. Puppy training can definitely be his most favorite class ever.]

[Inui was admittedly not sure what to expect out of a class on puppy training--he'd never owned a dog before, and he really hadn't had much to do with them in his lifetime.

Which might be why he seems so particularly put out by the apricot standard poodle puppy that's trying to initiate a game with his ankle. Somehow it manages to untie his right shoelace.
