Class - Puppy Training!

Summary: Class is in session and it promises to be adorable.

[Today, students who meant to attend Rafiel's class (which up until this point has been purely textbook, video and oral based,) will probably be surprised to find the classroom door is closed with a note taped to it.



Should they choose to do so, when they get to the arena the area seems unusually... noisy. Especially since there's no battle going at the moment. Get closer to the center of the stadium and they'll find the arena's gates have been shut but are currently unlocked, presumably to allow students in. Beyond that, however, are... puppies. Everywhere. Yapping, tumbling all over each other or napping and being harassed by their siblings and fellow furry kinsmen. There's a shallow kiddie pool on the far end filled with water, presumably to keep them hydrated, and above that in the stands and surrounded by a plethora of napping dogs is Rafiel who seems to be singing quietly to keep the ones around him calm.

Beside him are various boxes which, at a first glance, seem to be filled with anything and everything you could ever need to take care of one of the furballs running around behind the gate. (The dog treats have been hidden in air-tight containers at the bottom.)

Welcome to the hands-on portion of puppy training.]


[ooc: This log is open to anyone from either Conquest or Fortitude, students and teachers alike. (Although, only Fortitudians will be able to keep their puppy companion. Conquesters looking to do the same will have to start attending his class.) If you you have a preferred puppy breed, feel free to bring it in. (Real or otherwise.) If not, pick one from the list! After which, go nuts. Mingle, threadjack, hold competitions, bicker about whose puppy is cuter and hold races. I'll pretend I know what I'm doing.]

[Inui was admittedly not sure what to expect out of a class on puppy training--he'd never owned a dog before, and he really hadn't had much to do with them in his lifetime.

Which might be why he seems so particularly put out by the apricot standard poodle puppy that's trying to initiate a game with his ankle. Somehow it manages to untie his right shoelace.

[Rafiel approaches Inui with a train of puppies behind him, all eagerly looking at what he has in his hand and, subsequently, offers to Inui. A bag of puppy treats.]

Are you having any problems?

[Inui just looks at him kind of helplessly for a second, then awkwardly accepts the bag of treats before glancing back down at the poodle. It's managed to roll itself on its side and is bracing itself against his shoe with its back legs while chewing vigorously on that shoelace. When it sees the treat bag, it releases its prize and instead starts jumping up, planting its paws on his legs and wagging its pom-pom tail vigourously. He offers one of them to the pup and it snaps it up eagerly, making him pull his back quickly in surprise.

Scientifically, of course, he knows a great deal about dogs... but there's no scientific literature on how to play with a puppy, which is exactly what Inui could have used right now.

He raises his eyebrows slightly in Rafiel's direction.]

...I suppose that would depend on your definition of 'problems.'

[Rafiel places his fingers to his lips as he watches Inui feed the dog a treat, trying not to smile too widely but failing a little on that part. Once he has his amusement under control, however, he gives the tennis player an encouraging look.]
