Class - Puppy Training!

Summary: Class is in session and it promises to be adorable.

[Today, students who meant to attend Rafiel's class (which up until this point has been purely textbook, video and oral based,) will probably be surprised to find the classroom door is closed with a note taped to it.



Should they choose to do so, when they get to the arena the area seems unusually... noisy. Especially since there's no battle going at the moment. Get closer to the center of the stadium and they'll find the arena's gates have been shut but are currently unlocked, presumably to allow students in. Beyond that, however, are... puppies. Everywhere. Yapping, tumbling all over each other or napping and being harassed by their siblings and fellow furry kinsmen. There's a shallow kiddie pool on the far end filled with water, presumably to keep them hydrated, and above that in the stands and surrounded by a plethora of napping dogs is Rafiel who seems to be singing quietly to keep the ones around him calm.

Beside him are various boxes which, at a first glance, seem to be filled with anything and everything you could ever need to take care of one of the furballs running around behind the gate. (The dog treats have been hidden in air-tight containers at the bottom.)

Welcome to the hands-on portion of puppy training.]


[ooc: This log is open to anyone from either Conquest or Fortitude, students and teachers alike. (Although, only Fortitudians will be able to keep their puppy companion. Conquesters looking to do the same will have to start attending his class.) If you you have a preferred puppy breed, feel free to bring it in. (Real or otherwise.) If not, pick one from the list! After which, go nuts. Mingle, threadjack, hold competitions, bicker about whose puppy is cuter and hold races. I'll pretend I know what I'm doing.]

[Alice giggles, just watching. And that laugh? It sounds really nice. She lets it go for a minute, then steps in.]

Dinah, come.

[The little white dog comes over to Alice, who gives it a treat.]

Good girl. Now sit.

[Another treat for the puppy.]

The trick is to reward the good behavior!

Hahaha... you seem to really have that down.

[Picking up the remaining puppy, he manages to sit up and hold it out at arms length, giving it a serious stare. The puppy smiles and wags its tail, giving bark.]

I guess it might be easier if I named it, huh? Though I've never been good with that sort of thing...

She's a good-natured little one. I'm not normally a dog person, but she's sweet and took to me right away.

[Alice smiles down, and the puppy lets out a little bark and wags its tail.]

It might be. Hm. What's your favorite book? While Dinah is a dog, not a cat, it seemed right to name her after the one in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Hmm... probably H.G. Wells' The Time Machine. Though that it's rather sparse on names for characters, much less for animals...

[He glances down at the puppy he's holding]

And since this is a boy, naming him Weena after the female supporting character seems somewhat cruel.

Hmm. You could call him Morlock, but it doesn't seem to fit. 'Wells', maybe. Oh! There was a prequel story to that with a character named Moses. You could do that, 'Mo' for short?

Moses could work. What do you think, Mo?

[The puppy gives a bark and wags its tail... not that it hasn't been doing that anyway, but that's good enough for Sakuya.]

[And that is a very enthusiastic bark and tail wag in reply.]

[Sakuya's face turns serious as he considers it and sets down the yellow lab puppy, looking at it like a hard problem.]

Hmm, I don't know... I'm not sure I should really be taking on the responsibility of caring for a young animal on top of classes and Exaclan...

Which means you need something to take your mind off it every now and then.

Maybe? It seems like taking care of a dog would be a lot of responsibility though...

[But he is cute... Sakuya is not winning this staring contest with those puppy dog eyes]
