New Arrivals (All new characters)

You're falling, and you can't remember why. It's a sickening feeling that makes your insides lurch; the darkness and the vertigo combine, and all you can think of is a story you heard once, somewhere.

Ah, I remember now. It's... a simple story that everyone knows. A legend of a Princess, the Demon Lord who kidnapped her, and the Knight who fought to save her. The Demon Lord had kidnapped the Princess countless times, but every time the Knight bested his challenges and rescued the Princess. No matter what tricks and ploys the Demon Lord used, the Knight would always triumph in the end. This was because--

The world tilts on its axis one last time, and the dream slips from your mind as easily as it arrived. A new voice intrudes on your sleep. Mechanical, monotonous.

"Next stop: Rakuen City. This train terminates here. The next stop is Rakuen. All change." The train rocks steadily. Fog envelopes the windows, obstructing your view and reminding you of an unsettling dream simultaneously. The air is humid inside the carriages, a vent beside your feet heating the air and making the seats almost uncomfortably warm. A puff of steam from the train winds its way lazily past the windows, a slightly different shade and consistency as the grey fog.

It's strangely difficult to shake off the sleep; the rhythm of the train seems to lull you back into slumber and the air is warm and heavy, making it hard to keep hold of a thought. Finally, though, the nausea settles, the last of the dream fades and you can take in your surroundings. And, perhaps more importantly, those around you in a similar state. The train judders to a stop, the shape of buildings and people only now barely visible as shadows beyond the windows.

"We have arrived at Rakuen City. All passengers must leave the train. This train is terminating here. This is Rakuen."

Kanaya gave him a bemused smile. "It wasn't very long ago that I hadn't seen a creature like you, either." Knowing even the rest of her teammates, she probably didn't want to ask why he seemed to be deflecting questions onto her. But she was also a little wary of what he might be hiding.

"I'm Kanaya. And you are?"

"Agatsuma Soubi." It was better to give information before asking for more after all. "What are you then?" He was blunt, but it was a better way to get things moving. Soubi didn't like speaking to people, or whatever she was, for long.

"It's a pleasure, Agatsuma." The name is a bit strange on her tongue, but she tries her best to emulate the way he said it.

"A troll," She stated simply. "I assume you are human?"

[personal profile] markedbeloved 2012-03-17 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Soubi nodded. He was still human, even if he could use magic. It was a part of himself, not something that made him inhuman. "Yes." He looked her over again and thinks for a moment. It's not really his thing to talk to others since he was found most of them just bothersome. "Hello, Kanaya." Then Silence. Well, that was more then most people got out of him.

The silence was a little long and awkwardly punctuated, but Kanaya was not bothered by it. He didn't seem like a talkative person. Or perhaps this was part of human conversation. She hadn't had much experience with this, after all.

"Hello, Agatsuma," She responded likewise.

Hmm, Maybe trolls didn't know how to interact well with humans. Well, it didn't matter to him. Soubi just nodded. "Do all trolls have your skin and horns?"

[personal profile] fussyfanged 2012-03-18 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes and no. Our horns are similar in color, but usually differ in shape. And I have not yet found an explanation for my skin; most trolls have grey skin." Kanaya responded. She always enjoyed private moments of amusement describing her entire species in such simple terms. It wasn't his fault, of course, it was just an odd thing to hear herself say.

Soubi nodded when she was finished. You learn something new everyday it seemed. Though form the feeling soubi had before he woke up, he thought he would be leaning a lot moretheimgs then one a day.) Where are you from?

[personal profile] fussyfanged 2012-03-18 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Alternia," She replied. She gave him quite a bit of credit for being open-mindedly curious; he could have been much worse.

Soubi was judgmental by nature, but it wasn't really possible to judge her based on his human standards. The unusual always caught his attention anyway. There was something so interesting about things he wasn't aware of. "How far is it from earth?"
fussyfanged: (12 ♍ I Lift My Gaze To Empty Skies Above)

[personal profile] fussyfanged 2012-03-18 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not quite sure," She admitted. "It's in an entirely separate universe."

Soubi wondered how she got here, but just decided if she couldn't answer how far, then she must not know how she arrived here either.) I wonder where we will be staying. (Being a person of privacy, it was a very important subject to him.)

"My guess is there is some form of civilization here, based on the fact that we just disembarked from an automobile. I can assume there will be some hives--houses--somewhere close by."
That is, if anything at this point can be assumed; there was nothing logical about how she ended up on the train, and now here.
markedbeloved: (say what?)

[personal profile] markedbeloved 2012-03-18 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
He just has to raise a eyebrow at what she said. "Hive?"
fussyfanged: (15 ♍ Are We All Wrong)

[personal profile] fussyfanged 2012-03-18 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
She raised an eyebrow right back. "'Houses' is the human term, if I am not mistaken."
Slip of tongue? What slip of tongue? She is doing so well being multicultural here.
markedbeloved: (chill time)

[personal profile] markedbeloved 2012-03-18 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, well alright. Soubi just nodded okay. He wasn't sure what a hive would look like. He wanted to ask further, but she may get the idea that it was okay to ask him more questions in return. "Have you seen anyone else who is calm, or was I the only one so far?"
fussyfanged: [graphitiaru @ lj] (38 ♍)

[personal profile] fussyfanged 2012-03-19 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he is surprisingly astute. That was her reasoning behind asking him. "I haven't seen everyone who disembarked. But you were the first person who didn't seem as lost as the rest."

[personal profile] markedbeloved 2012-03-19 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
He's smart like that. It also helped that she asked him for information. After all, why ask if there wasn't something that was making him stand out in her eyes. "Yes. It will never help in then end to panic."
fussyfanged: (12 ♍ I Lift My Gaze To Empty Skies Above)

[personal profile] fussyfanged 2012-03-21 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Probably not." She looked about, and the others-- mostly human-like in appearance-- were still aimlessly milling about. She also stared at Soubi's neck, curious but not letting her eyes linger on it too long before politely looking away again.

"Good luck." Soubi wasn't willing to answer any questions about his neck. He didn't know anything about it himself anyway. Instead he walked away. There was no reason to stay.
