more violin antics

Characters: Sherry Holmes, whoever else
Format: prose
This log is: open
Location: White dorm and surrounding area
Summary: Sherry plays the violin. Obnoxiously. Again.
In all the time that Sherlock Holmes has been at this institution, not once has anyone caught him sleeping in his dorm room. He does it only when no one else is there. If that becomes impractical, he goes without or finds himself a nice quiet roof.

More and more often, however, he can be found sitting at the open window of White 1-B playing the violin. Once in a while it's a genuine violin solo, composed as such by someone who died before 1950, but the majority of his material is a little more recent. He seems determined to adapt the entire musical repertoire of the classic rock era to his chosen instrument. Pink Floyd is a particular favourite.

California? That wasn't a response he was expecting. "But that's... that's not in Japan. Utopia Academy..."

What the hell was Iwahijiri doing?

"...another." Shoujou pauses. "So I'm not the only one then?"

"Then the rest of the student council might be here," Shoujou says, softly. The thought sends a tingle of excitement running down his spine -- what if El is here? If Kuchinawa or Sumita aren't, then he could - he could -

-- Himoto must be here.

"I have to look for them," he mutters, completing his thoughts aloud.

Shoujou suddenly remembers the other boy. "Oh, um, yes," he replies. "I can't imagine why they would get rid of the student council. We had so many responsibilities..." There is the terrifying thought that El is behind all of this -- but no, Shoujou rationalizes. El would never betray them all. No, it's more likely that Iwahijiri is not responsible for this... this fake Utopia Academy. Giving freedom to the girls is not Iwahijiri's motive.

But then who?

But then who, El?

"Ah, um..." Shoujou fidgets on the edge of the bed, eventually making the decision to remove his shoes. "What sorts of people came from my school? Girls? Or boys?"

Mainly girls? Tch. Probably Himoto's lot.

Shoujou set his shoes to the side of the bed. "Oh, you know. Keeping the system in order, and the other students in line."
defender: (nice to meet you)

"Of course not," Shoujou protested. "That wouldn't be possible under our Exaclan system."

"We didn't encourage fighting, either. I don't know why the policies have changed."

"..."

Well.

Not that he was wrong.

"But if that were the case, why go so far as to recreate Utopia Academy?"

"I'm not sure what you mean."

"The reason for the Exaclan system in our school was so that students could recieve a more" -- Shoujou cannot help smirking -- "thorough education."

He pulls one leg up onto the bed. "It was optional for Players, though. Here, they're coercing Players into fighting, with the memory loss. I don't see what kind of lessons we're learning here."

The hell is he going on about.

"...convenient framework for what?"
defender: (shock)

Oh.

So they were just going in circles then.

"I guess," he says, noncommittally. He lies down on the bed for a moment, staring blankly at the ceiling (if El was here, where would he be?) before glancing over at his conversational companion again.

"I don't think I got your name."
defender: (smiling)

"Um."

He was fairly sure that Sherlock Holmes was not supposed to hail from California.

"...Shoujou," he managed eventually. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Holmes."
