So, from what I've been able to figure out, it looks like people arrive in this city pretty regularly -- once a week exactly.
We have to play along with this place's rules and fight each other or we'll be punished, we have to go to school or we'll be punished, and so forth.

Since I'm new here, naturally I'm rather out of the loop, so there's a lot I have yet to learn.
For now I'd like to get to know my fellow prisoners, if that's all right with you.
So if you don't mind, tell me -- What is your name, which school are you at, and where were you before you came here?

You're gonna want to sit down for this one, because it just so happens my last name is Strider, too.

Yeah, I'd be surprised, but it turns out that's already a thing that happened before I got here.
A bunch of people met someone named Dirk Strider who looked and typed exactly like I did.
Don't know if he was some alternate universe me or if this place made me forget about it, though.

You have a brother, while the other Dave has a sister.
Even though you knew each other before you wound up here thanks to paradox space and its ever-present desire to fuck our minds senseless.
And you just said you don't have any other family.
So you two knowing each other before you arrived really meant "We knew alternate versions of each other before winding up here"? That does sound like quite the mouthful, but it's a pretty important distinction.

I'm an only child, for the record, and I don't foresee that changing any time soon. Or ever, really.
Maybe in some other world that's different, but I don't know.
So I can't answer that for you. Better get that memory back soon if you want to know for sure.
