[ The video turns on to reveal a Jade that is grinning wider than any girl should legally be able to. She points at her hair. ]

I don't really know how long I spent on earth after all my friends got into SBURB, but I think it's close to my birthday at home. I'm fourteen! So for my birthday, I got my hair cut. I couldn't get the mats out, and I really like it short.

Dirk, will you wake me up in time for your movies? I don't want to miss them, but I want to sleep right away!

[ Her face grim, she links Jadesprite to this. ]

Do you know what happens when someone goes into negative raks? They get hurt! They fall on the ground and start screaming, because your head feels like it's going to explode! And then it stops, but another person gets hit! And another, and another, until the person who has no money gets some!

You hurt my best friends by being so selfish! Don't you realize that you're not here to fight for anyone else? You're here to fight for you!

Are you at Conquest? You have to tell me where you are right now, if you haven't gotten any other money then people are still getting penalized!

[ It takes her awhile; she has to finish work and then go see Recette. But she finally shows up at Jadesprite's dorm, after finding out where she lives mainly by just asking passerby. She sticks her head in the door. ]

I have two things for you. One of them you don't have to take, but you have to take money, okay?

[She's a sobbing heap on her bed. Her pillowcase has been stained neon green. But she doesn't get made when Jade comes in.]

Okay... [sniff] woof

[ Walking over!! And holding out 7 Raks. ] I don't know how much you have, but I think this will work. You probably didn't go over by much, right? If you only bought the PDA...

[ Shakes her head. In her other hand, she holds out a charm. ] This is a memory charm. If you put it on, you can remember something. I didn't get to pick what, though.

[She takes the money, and they disappear as soon as they hit her hand.] Um. I guess I'm okay then. [She seems to still be considering the memory charm]

I'm sorry... [whine]

It's okay.

[ She hesitates, but then puts her arms around Jadesprite. ]

I know you didn't mean to. Even though you're really sad all the time, I know you don't want to be. And since you're kind of like me, you're probably pretty nice, too.

[And she kind of clings on. Tight huuuug] I just wish I knew why. I just get sad and then I get a headache and it hurts.

[ There there.... ] If you want to know why, you can try that memory charm. You might remember.

But...why are you sad if you can't remember it? Shouldn't you be happy that you're here?

I don't know... I woke up on the train and I knew I didn't want to be there. And then people told me I had to fight. And I just stayed in my room after that until my turn to fight came.

[She sits back on the bed again, her ghosty end curled up under herself.] Let me see that charm...

It's not so bad here. There's good food, and nice people who want to be your friends... Even if you have to fight, no one gets hurt. You can learn to be brave and strong all on your own, and protect your friends!

[ She hands the charm over. ] Here you go.

[She nods to what Jade said, and she takes the charm. She puts it on and suddenly she looks a bit surprised. And she smiles.] Jadesprite. That's what I was called when you made me. It's nice to remember.

[ Have a smile back. ]

I'm glad you remember! [ And hugs I guess because Jade feels proud of her. ]

I'm trying to be strong. I'll try to be more like you. But I've forgotten so much. It makes me sad to think about it... What if there's important people I've forgotten?

[ Oh whoa, whoa-- ] You don't want to be like me! You want to be like the other Jade, the one from home...not me. Please don't be me.

[ She shakes her head. ] You'll remember them eventually. I don't think they'd be mad at you, it's not your fault and you're too nice.
