The next time I end up shitfaced without any trousers on, I'd rather it be because I tried to drink a dwarf under the table, not... whatever happened there.
What happened, anyway? I've been asleep for days. Not the fun kind of sleep with naughty dreams, either.
Oh, well. Classes will resume. I hope you kids thought of a good drinking game by now.

[He frowned as he read the next part.] Was that a joke?

I knew someone like you back in Kirkwall. She would punch down a merchant for charging a little extra than is appropriate, and take down a group of slavers out of the kindness of her heart.
It was always about following the law to the letter and helping people. Apparently, that also gave her the right to judge them and determine their worth.
She loathed people like me, especially. Troublemakers weren't people to her. They were criminals, ne'er-do-wells. Locked up and left to rot.
I've seen you look at me the way she looked at me, you know. Don't think I haven't.

So now you're wracked in guilt? Oh, you poor, bleeding heart!
I honestly feel sorry for you. Because in the end? The only life we're responsible for is our own.

[Did she truly believe she had no responsibilities to others? At all?]

[ "Well. No. I freed a hundred slaves and came back for Hawke, even though I had no obligation to help and all it got me was knee deep in trouble. But somehow running away wasn't an option." ]
The world -- Rakuen or Thedas or wherever you came from -- is full of awful people.
Kindness does not beget kindness. Kindness begets a knife in the back. The easiest way to make the most in life is to stop having good intentions altogether.
I don't want to talk about this anymore. It's your life. Ruin it yourself.

Fine.
