On the platform: Meet the new characters

Rakuen is warm in the noon sun, not humid enough to be uncomfortable but bright enough to make the transition from train to platform momentarily disorienting. There is a group there to meet you: on one side, four students in black and green; on the other, four in red and white. Whilst the green group are all fairly average; all teenagers, the red group are a tad more varied. One of their girls is tiny, the size of a small child, and her wings are beating patterns in the warm air.

When they notice the arrivals, one out of each group steps forward. A young man in red and white looking serious steps forward

"Excuse me." A second boy, with long hair dressed in green and black is just behind him. He explains that they're all prefects of Rakuen, from the two battle schools on the island. Fortitude - the long haired boy and the others dressed in green - and Conquest. They all arrived just like you did, weeks or months before this.

"I know you have many questions but first please come to the person who calls your name."

He looks down on his list to double check "For Conquest Kaoru Hitachiin and Yosuke Hanamura."

"If I call your name," the green-clad boy had stepped forward again, "it means you're with Fortitude: Rose Lalonde and Sora Himoto."

Kaoru stepped off the platform and, as soon as his eyes adjusted, began scanning for his brother. There was no one else in the world he wanted to see. All these people standing here were just obstacles in his search for Hikaru. Not immediately seeing Hikaru, Kaoru walked over to the guy whom called his name. Making direct eye contact with him, Kaoru asked, "Have you seen Hikaru, my brother? You'll know it's him, because he looks just like me."

After speaking, Kaoru looked away from the guy and began scanning again, occasionally looking back by the train to see if maybe he was hiding, trying to pull a prank on him.

Hikaru had been considering not checking the train station- it would be too painful if Kaoru wasn't there. As a result, Hikaru didn't show up until it was late in the meeting, about when Kaoru was done talking with Suzaku. He almost instantly spotted his brother. He rushed over, not caring who he might bump into on the way. He screamed, for his brother, almost afraid this was another dream, "Kaoru!"

"Hikaru" Kaoru's concentration completely broke at the sight of his brother. He stopped whatever he was doing and immediately ran over to his twin. "Oh, Hikaru. Say you'll never leave me again." Kaoru grasped his brother in a tight embrace.

Hikaru hugged his brother back, "I won't, I promise," but pulled away again as soon as he tried to think about the name "Hikaru". He raised his hand to his head and gritted his teeth as a headache hit him hard. "What did you call me?" Because that had to be his name, but he couldn't quite remember what Kaoru had just called him.

Suzaku opened his mouth to reply that he did indeed know Hikaru, remembering the angry boy he had spoken to the week before but then Hikaru himself turned up and Suzaku remained quiet letting them have their reunion, ticking off Kaoru's name.

"Hikaru, Brother, are you all right?" Kaoru picked up Hikaru's chin and looked concernedly into his eyes as the headache hit him. "I'll never let anything hurt you again."

Hikaru wasn't used to being on this side of the relationship, having his chin lifted, but his head really did hurt the more he tried to think of his name. Though he carefully placed his hand on Kaoru's shoulder and gripped his jacket in such a way that was sure to grab attention and make people question if he and his brother had more than a brotherly relationship, he really did feel like he needed Kaoru's help to stand with the pain of the headache.

"I'll be okay. It's just an effect of this place." He's a bit breathless, the headache fading as he didn't try to focus on his name, "When I try to remember my name, my head hurts."

"It's alright, Brother. I'll be the one to comfort you this time." Kaoru wasn't familar this end of the relationship with this brother, but it seemed right. He was sure Hikaru would always be there for him, now that he had found him again.

"Oh, Kaoru, I'm just to glad I have you back." Hikaru hugs his brother tight. He really had missed him in the week he was separated, "I was lost without you."

Hand going up in response automatically, Yosuke punctuated his small wave with: "Yo, over here." before moving forward. Dressed in his Yasogami High school uniform, he'd made sure to tuck his glasses into his pocket before approaching. If only because he'd already noticed his kunai were missing and didn't want those confiscated too (or whatever.)

Once in front of Suzaku, his arms automatically folded over his chest as a typical expression of confusion and irritation crossed his face. "Sorry, but think you could tell me what's going on here?" He asked, voice calm as he gave the knight a brief nod by way of apology on his lack of manners.

Suzaku looked over and ticked off Yosuke's name, at least he seemed calm. Then again; no one had hit Suzaku this week, or cried, so far so good.

"You are in Rakuen City, you have been brought here to fight; as have the rest of us. Once we manage to solve the puzzle of the city we can go home or so we have been told."

The name Rakuen wasn't ringing any bells with Yosuke. Then again, he wasn't exactly a genius when it came to geography anyway so that wasn't really surprising. (Although any place that could kidnap people like this and get away with it probably wasn't on a normal map.)

"So this is basically a video game but in real life." He summarized feeling a familiar sinking feeling. Boy did that sound familiar. Shaking his head in exasperation, when he was finally able to swallow his irritation and move on, he met Suzaku's gaze straight on shrugged.

"Alright, where do I sign on to help beat this thing?"

Suzaku frowned, he hadn't thought of it that way, but he hadn't played video games since he was a child and playing racing games was different than fighting like this.

"You already have," he nodded at him. "I'm Suzaku Kururugi, it is nice to meet you."

[distractedfighting]

For a moment Yosuke regarded Suzaku with a searching glance, before grinning stupidly and offering him a hand. "You too, Kururugi."

Suzaku nodded in response, "I can answer questions you have, we will be going to the dorms soon."

At first Sora was confused. This wasn't Utopia Academy - but people were wearing uniforms that looked a lot like that school's. She didn't recognize any of the people, and she wasn't sure what to think of the girl who had wings.

And then someone said the word "Exaclan" and it all came together.

She'd done such a good job helping get Exaclan shut down at that school, that they'd called her here to help shut down *their* Exaclan system!

It probably should have bothered her that she didn't remember how she'd done that. Or, for that matter, that it didn't make sense for anyplace else to even *have* an Exaclan system. But it didn't!

"Hiii! I'm Sora!"

Seeing Sora greet him so enthusiastically like that without the faintest hint of recognition in her eyes... it was like Spain all over again. The only difference this time was that he was positive the Sora Himoto he knew was still in the city. So... more copies?

'Man...'

"Yuri Lowell, welcome to Fortitude."

"Thank you!" Sora smiled. Then a moment later, "So..."

... and trailed off. She'd just realized that "So, what's wrong with this place" wasn't really a good thing to ask someone you'd just met!

"... um..."

Sensing her uneasiness, Yuri's lips curved upwards into a wry smile as he resisted the urge to grin outright.

"Hey c'mon, being tongue-tied isn't like you." He remarked, voice cheerful as he adopted a more casual position. "If you've got a question, ask it. Last time I checked, I don't bite."

Ah! He'd caught on!

Luckily for Sora, he'd also provided her with an out.

"... Uh, do you know me?"

It wasn't entirely an evasion either. It sounded like Yuri knew her... but she didn't remember anybody named that, and she had a good memory for names. Back home, she had developed quite a reputation, so it wouldn't be that surprising, but she'd just got here!
