Event start: On the train

The clothes Dunleavy had mentioned were simple light trousers, three plain t shirts in school colours, a warm jumper; again in school colours and a pair of walking boots. There was also a small rucksack so spare clothes and other belongings could be packed.

On the platform NPCs were loading what seemed to be tents, cooking stoves and sleeping bags into the hold. Those chosen were ushered onto the train and told to sit wherever they liked.

Once everyone had arrived the whistle sounded and for the first time in fourteen weeks the train set off in the opposite direction. Smoke whistled happily past the window as they began to go faster past meadows and trees.

Then, quite suddenly everyone began to feel very sleepy. "There is a story everyone knows..." It was that old dream again, lulling you in and you find your eyes dropping against your will...

When you wake up the train is slowing and the countryside looks different, mountainous, rougher; a little more wild.

"Attention everyone, the train is approaching it's final destination. Please be ready to leave the train in half an hour." As people shake off the last of the sleep this message continues.

Then it changes, "You will notice that some of your now possess a coloured exaclan glove on your chair, others will notice a coloured ring. Please put them on now. Your first task is to find your Player if you are a Weapon, or your Weapon if you are a Player. Find the person whose colour matches yours."

"I see!" Well, no, she didn't see at all! Years to wake up? She couldn't possibly mean that literally, right?

"Nice to meet you! So then I'm the Weapon, huh..." Sora didn't get this business with the accessories either. "Well, I'm actually pretty good at fighting, so as long as we get something resembling a spear we should be fine!"

"That's not usually how it works, but why not? You can take the first one. If I do end up being your Weapon later though, I have a scythe."

"I'm not a scary person though," she adds, almost as an afterthought.

"It isn't? Huh. That's how it worked where I'm from. Players fighting... sounds kind of weird." Not that it hadn't happened, but as far as she knew there'd only been a couple other people with the combination of flags that let them do it.

Sora blinked. "Scary?"

"Oh, I just said that because of the scythe. I guess without seeing it you wouldn't have thought that."

[knightofwhat]

"Ohhh..." Sora shrugged. She'd seen some dangerous-looking weapons back at home, but she hadn't found any reason to be scared of them. It was what the wielder did with them that mattered.

Well, there was one exception.

"I can't imagine it's as bad as that... -thing- my friend Tsuki's weapon turned into once..."

"Hmmm... I want to know more but at the same time it doesn't seem like you want to talk about it." And the last time someone didn't want to talk about something things got super awk.

[knightofwhat]

"Eh? No, it's not really like that." Actually, something good had been happening then! But even so... "It just would have been really scary if she'd actually fought anyone with it like that."

"Oh, tell me then. It's good nothing bad happened from it."

[knightofwhat]

"Well, Tsuki's weapon with herself is normally a spear, just like mine." She'd never actually gotten a straight answer as to whether or not that was actually a coincidence. "But then she kept going around to her other Players and pulling out more weapons, and sort of smashing them into it. When she was done it looked almost like she'd caught a lightning bolt and compressed it into the shape of a spear..."
