Battle, last day of round -1!
Weapons: Euphemia li Britannia and Gino Weinberg Suzaku Kururugi vs. Mei Chang
Location: At the docks
Time of day: High Noon
Unfortunately Suzaku had agreed to this battle with Mei before he had fought Tsuki and lost Lelouch. That meant that since Kotarou was still recovering not that he would use the kid anyways after what happened last time and he had promised Lelouch not to use Nunnally in battle he had to use Euphemia's weapon. He didn't want to, he didn't want to hurt her; he didn't want to hurt anyone. But no one had been rendered unconscious in the last battle, so he was hoping that that was something rare. As long as they were careful.
Suzaku looked at Euphemia, "Are you sure this is alright, we can still forfeit if it's not..."

"...ah... I can fly!"
Way to notice that, Mei. Good job.
She was about ready to shake her ankle free and zoom off, but then Gino had to go and say something to make her wary of it all over again. "What." The general 'rawr rawr rage' had faded. "I so have the hang of this! I figured it out in like ten seconds!" Yes. Ten seconds exactly.

As soon as he'd gotten to his feet - and Mei was several metres higher than she had been before - he tugged. Grabbed the back of her blazer collar. Hefted.
"Heads up, Seven!"
New technique learned: Mei Missile. Meissile.

Soon though she seemed ready and Suzaku had to duck once again as Gino threw Mei towards him. Trying to suppress the laughter he turned and waited for his opponent to fly back towards him.
The fact that people weren’t supposed to be able to fly… well that was sort of put to the side as Suzaku readied himself to continue the battle.

She swung herself back upright in the air and dug her heels in... uh, well, into the air, much like someone would dig their heels into the dirt or what have you to stop. This was how she decided flying people used braking. It worked. Mei spun back around and instead of charging Suzaku head on, she zoomed around him again, coming in low behind to grab at the coattails of his uniform, and then continue flying around him.
Re: the keywords of this icon are now relevant
He tried to side step out of the way, and managed to avoid Mei, but she still managed to grab his coat tails, he tried to turn but as she flew around him he found himself off balance and then on the floor.
He frowned; he had to think; think of a way to fight a flying person unarmed without hurting them. He could jump... could he kick that high.
He could try, running after her he jumped as high as he could, spinning round in an attempt to kick her out of the air.

Okay! Mei had him knocked down. All that was left was to pin him and, who knows, twist his arm until he cried uncle or something. She didn't exactly have plans on beating him into unconsciousness, that was for sure. The girl pulled another hard turn in the air to reverse directions again and...
Got a spinkick to the gut. OOF. See Mei get kicked out of the air. See Mei hit the ground. See Mei bounce. It was just like kicking a soccer ball! The girl caught herself before she could hit the ground again, floating up.
Urrgh that huuurt, but this wasn't the time to whine about that. She didn't hang around floating, she immediately threw herself into a high speed charge. If the timing worked out, the tiny girl would be tackling Suzaku just after he's landed from his kick.

He didn't even manage to get out the way as she tackled into him; he landed awkwardly but was more relieved that he had not seriously hurt Mei than worried that he had once again been knocked to the floor.

With Suzaku now down, Mei wasted no time putting that strength boost from Tristan to use. She hopped off of his chest and, any second now, he was going to find himself being flipped over. After that? The plan was to grab an arm and twist it around to his back, to immobilize him.
It's a pretty basic hold, but effective; she could easily break an arm with it, but she doesn't go that far! Even so, all that extra strength is still something she's getting used to. She might end up twisting that arm a little too hard.

His arm was hurting a lot, it was burning but he gritted his teeth, Mei had strength but she was still only ten, and very light. So closing his eyes he rolled over towards the arm that was pinned and tried to sit up.
It hurt, but it might get her off him.

And then he gets a child on his back. Look out, the tiny princess is aiming to put Suzaku in a headlock. If that could be called a headlock. Maybe it's better off classified as a headcling...

He reached up and grabbed her arms, her grip was strong and so Suzaku wasn't too sure if trying to prise her off while spinning sharply to the side was going to work.
But it was either that or fall backwards to trap her, and he couldn't do that, because he wasn't going to hurt her.
no subject
See, she couldn't leave them around his neck, because then she might strangle him when she zoomed up into the air.

It was ridiculous and though his laugh was brittle and bitter sounding it was genuine. He tried attacking her hands again, putting his hands behind him and trying to prise her fingers off him. Hoping that she would let go of his uniform.
no subject
So Suzaku's laughter might be bitter, but Mei's? Yeah, hers was so cheerful. She was having fun with this.
"This is so great! I wonder how far out we can get!"
no subject
"Uh Mei," Suzaku stopped wriggling, stopped attacking her hands. He could swim... but that didn't mean he wanted to.
So he just hung there, there was nothing else he could do. This battle was already lost; Suzaku tried not to think of the fact the person who had beaten him was ten years old.
"Alright Mei... You win, I lose, now let's go ba..."
Then he was falling, "Mei!" Had she dropped him?
no subject
So did the upgrades that came with them!
Which meant Mei could no longer fly.
"Aaaa!" No, she hadn't dropped him. The girl was falling right after him. It was a good thing she'd brought them down so close to the surface, so the fall into the water wasn't going to be too bad...
So, SPLASH. Hello, water.
no subject
"Mei?! Mei?" Could she even swim, he swallowed some water as he shouted. "Mei!"
no subject
Stupid, stupid, stuuuupid, she scolded herself. It looked like she could swim, though, so that was good. The girl pouted and looked back towards shore.
"...oooh no, why did I fly out this far..." She turned back towards Suzaku. "S-sorry. I got carried away!"
no subject
"I'm sorry Mei," He swam until he was level with her, "I forgot..."
He was an idiot.

Mei would seriously have to beat up Suzaku (again) if she knew what was on his mind. Mei, drowning? She wouldn't die so easily! What a doof. She drifted over to where he was and treaded water.
"We should start back!" Despite the abrupt and terribly wet outcome of the fight, she was smiling again. "This is cake compared to crossing a desert!"
See? Mei, Built

He surfaced a few seconds later, treading water about a metre away from Mei.
"Did we win?"
No, it hadn't been too clear what had happened from shore.
no subject
Swimming out, she goes to Suzaku. "Are you okay?"
no subject
Just to be met by Gino and Euphemia who had decided to jump in the water as well. He treaded water and gave Euphemia a small smile. "I'm alright," he stayed close, he didn't know how good a swimmer Euphemia was, he looked over to Gino. "Yes you won," he sounded slightly embarrassed about that.
no subject
When they met the other two on the swim back in, Mei threw her arms up and joyously answered Gino's question. "We did!" Aaand she sinks a little, because she stopped treading water. Uh. Flail, splash. There. Back above water again.
"Um, why did you two jump in, too? Now we're all wet!"
no subject
"Well do-- ah, don't drown, okay? That'd look bad on the tape." He swam over to Mei, in case she wanted to grab onto something for further celebrating - flailing was serious business, after all - and flicked water at her.
"Because it looked like fun!"
