A Shirt Full of Apples (Open)

Summary: Romeo finds some apples and is handing them out, come share!
Warnings:

The forest was a little bit scary, he had always been told not to wander off into the woods because wolves might eat him. So he had not explored very far into the trees around the school but earlier that day he had found an apple tree not too far from the edge of the woods.

A lot of the apples had fallen so Romeo had gathered them in his shirt and was now sat in the corner of the courtyard with a lap full of apples. He was eating one; it was very delicious! He looked around at the people in the courtyard, a lot of them were adults but there were some children in the school. Like Fletcher! Still even if they were adults none of the adults had hurt Romeo at this school. He should share the delicious apples.

"Would you like an apple?" His voice was quiet but enthusiastic.

"A tower?" She lived in a tower? Romeo had never met anyone who lived in a tower before.

"I've only been to Milano, I was a chimney sweep there last year. It was so big!" He spread his arms out to show how big it was. "It had lots of people but was pretty, especially on the rooftops, the sky was so blue and the light reflected off the roofs. It was beautiful!"

"What is it like, living in a tower?"

Rapunzel imagined the light glittering off roofs, shining and sparkling, but it was only the vaguest of imaginings. She'd never seen it, it was impossible to really picture.

"Milano? What a pretty name. It was...fine living in a tower. I guess you can't really be afraid of heights you know?"

Romeo smiled and nodded. "Was it a very high tower? I bet the chimneys are so hard to clean!" Romeo was not scared of heights, when he had been in Milano the rooftops had been his favourite place. "Do you miss it?" It must have been strange going from being in a tower to being at school.

"Oh it was really really tall. As tall as my hair is long." She spread her arms wide and grinned, "It was nice too, for a tower I guess, but not nearly as nice as the buildings here. I don't miss it at all."

Then a pang of guilt hit and her face crumpled, "W-Well I miss Mother and all and I shouldn't really be here."

"That tall!" Repunzel's hair was really really long Romeo tried to imagine a tower that hall. It sounded like something from a story, something that Angeletta would read to him. He tilted his head as she continued, she looked sad and Romeo didn't want her to be sad.

He smiled at her, "Why shouldn't you be here?" It was a school after all and Romeo thought that everybody had been sent here. "I miss my mother too, but you will get to see her soon right?"

Surely this school had holidays; they were bound to be able to go home soon.
