Round 4, Day 2

Characters: Kanaya and YOU
Format: starting [action] will match commenter
This log is: Open!
Location: EVERYWHERE
Summary: I want all the CR Kanaya is looking around
Warnings: None?

[Kanaya is wandering around the school grounds, wearing her new uniform. This place was so different from Alternia, and although she's seen Earth before, it's only been from behind a computer screen. The sun was different here and she wondered if the other trolls would enjoy it's rays. On the other hand, she didn't want them to experience it, that would be taking them away from their important mission.]

[She didn't sleep last night, or even spend last night in her dorm. Instead she spent the night reading the rulebook, it wasn't nearly as wordy as Rose's gameFAQ and she got through it easily. If she could collect 5 weapons she'd win the round, but besides memories and upgrades there didn't seem to be much gained for winning. No discernible way to get back.]

[For now she's just trying to familiar herself with her new surroundings, perhaps collect a few weapons along the way]

[[Ah hah! So Theta had seen an ashen-skinned horned person, her eyes were not, in fact, deceiving her. How truly, truly strange. She limps straight up to the other person, a bright and cheery grin on her face. There's a cane in her left hand, her left leg doesn't seem to take her weight well at all. Her trousers also have an odd cut to them, flaring out around the knees before tucking back in to tall boots.]]

Good day!

[[She offers her hand out, palm up to take the other's hand and kiss it if it's given.]]

Are you new here as well?

I think I might have seen you on the tram. If you don't mind, just off of sight I think, I wanted to speak with you.

[[She moves to take Kanaya's hand, but as soon as the touch connects, she yelps in pain from the warning, drawing her hand back quickly.]]

Ah...that's...

I had hoped to learn, yes. I take it you know about humans already, then?  I feel ignorant, will you humour me? You seem like a very intelligent person, I wouldn't mind exchanging knowledge, whatever I know that might interest you.

[[Her words are earnest, though there's an undercurrent of arrogance. She doesn't like not knowing things, and she'll only admit to it for the chance at filling in the gaps and learning more.]]
ergaleomancer: ([surprise] Really now?)

[personal profile] ergaleomancer 2011-04-09 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Mm, it would be nice if there was a species out there where intelligence was a constant. I wonder...why I seem different? Is it a personality difference, do you think? Or am I outright strange compared to the others?

Oh ho~! You really are devilishly clever~. But once a certain level of intelligence is reached amongst the population, those that are too stupid can always be eliminated~. We've replaced all the servants in my house with clockworks. It can be done on the national scale~.

I am, I'm nineteen, I'm an adult, while thirteen is still just a child. And you? Where in your species' life cycle are you?

Unfortunately, there's other things holding us back from that even though it's the next logical step. I doubt the changes necessary to get us to that point will come in my lifetime, but perhaps in the next few generations the gears will turn far enough to carry out such work.

Human lifespans vary greatly, those from the upper class tend to live to between eighty and ninety, while those of the lower class pass on between forty and sixty on average.

We pass on knowledge by teaching, and those of the upper class are educated well, taking in lessons from their predecessors and expanding upon it, while those in the lower class... Well, I have no idea, really, some of them can't even read, but they at least have useful trades, some of them...

[[They're not her problem and she could care less about them. Guess who Theta wants to replace with clockworks.]]
