and then they fell. [rakuen revolution opening post]

You're falling, and you can't remember why. It's a sickening feeling that makes your insides lurch; the darkness and the vertigo combine, and all you can think of is a story you heard once, somewhere.

Ah, I remember now. It's... a simple story that everyone knows. A legend of a Princess, the Demon Lord who kidnapped her, and the Knight who fought to save her. The Demon Lord had kidnapped the Princess countless times, but every time the Knight bested his challenges and rescued the Princess. No matter what tricks and ploys the Demon Lord used, the Knight would always triumph in the end. This was because--

The world tilts on its axis one last time, and the dream slips from your mind as easily as it arrived. A new voice intrudes on your sleep. Mechanical, monotonous.

"Next stop: Rakuen City. This train terminates here. The next stop is Rakuen. All change." The train rocks steadily as it winds its way through white drifts of now. Sunlight streams through the window, heating the air and making the seats almost uncomfortably warm. A puff of steam from the train winds its way lazily past the windows when the wind is right.

It's strangely difficult to shake off the sleep; the rhythm of the train seems to lull you back into slumber and the air is warm and heavy, making it hard to keep hold of a thought. Finally, though, the nausea settles, the last of the dream fades and you can take in your surroundings. And, perhaps more importantly, those around you in a similar state.

"We have arrived at Rakuen City. All passengers must leave the train. This train is terminating here. This is Rakuen."

[Lithuania yawns, curled up on a seat and looking not entirely willing to leave. It's so warm, much more comfortable than it should be in January. Even when others might be getting up, he lingers. It's not until the train lurches to a stop he really wakes up, because the whole ground has moved beneath him and that shouldn't be happening.

He ends up falling off the seat in confusion.]

Good luck waking her up.]

[Red wakes with a jolt in the train's path, eyes opening quickly. It takes a moment to come back to the world; he's curled in on himself in his seat, hunched over with his chin resting on his chest. He looks around for a moment before moving at all, cautiously straightening up, and then moving to stretch, which jostles the person next to him. Oops.]

[Rakuen City. That's not a city he's ever heard of. How did he get here, and... could that city be...?]

[Ramona wakes up, unsure of what just happened. Though she has the oddest feeling she was supposed to be doing something else... hell if she could remember that. First order of business was... finding out why they were all going to this city. It wasn't a question that had been answered, and it was nagging at the back of her mind all this time. She sat up, looking around at who might be next to her. Maybe they'd know something.]

Dare you disturb them? (Yes go ahead.)]

Suzaku was used to weird dreams, they were usually more brutal than the one he had just had though. It was fading fast and he blinked, worrying about why it was so hard to throw off the sleepiness.

He looked to the side and pulled up, he had been leaning on someone... on...

"Zero!"

Suzaku reacted quickly, grabbing Zero by the throat and pushing him against the seat.

Rakuen...

( Weird, she feels as though she has other things to address but goodness if she can remember right now. A glance around tells her that there doesn't seem to be anyone familiar in the immediate area but that didn't mean there wasn't someone she knew nearby.

Oh, well, Madoka had to get up anyway. A look around wouldn't hurt.

[Sollux sits up with a start; he stares around him in brief, empty-socketed confusion before he remembers that, oh, right. He's blind.]

[It's a recent development. There's still blood on his shirt, although if you're accustomed to blood being, say, red, you could pretty easily take it for mustard or something.]

[he fumbles his hand along the edge of the chair, trying to work out where the hell he could possibly be, but he has no idea. Maybe it's a dream bubble? But it's definitely not his memory...]

It was the strangest feeling, falling underwater. Feferi couldn't say she had ever felt anything like it. Not an undertow, not a current, this was a free-fall from a frightening height, and the ground was rushing toward her fast, fast, fast --

-- she started, waking up and feeling the world tilt and spin. She clapped a hand over her mouth to try and keep the bile from coming up, the burning at the back of her throat almost too much. The story echoed through her head just as Feferi felt like things were past the point where they could be called overwheming. A princess, a demon lord, her knight. Of course she knew the story (no she didn't; it wasn't part of her horrorterror dreams, her unique brand of nightmares), and the last words faded to black as the world followed suit.

How long was it until she woke again? Feferi couldn't say. She hadn't dreamt when she fell asleep the second time, an experience she counted as strange in and of itself. It was tempting to stay asleep, fold it around her like a blanket and rest, if it was going to be that deep and dreamless. Her eyes were heavy as she blinked them open, the mechanical voice grating on her nerves.

"Rakuen City?" The word was foreign on her tongue, which still felt too thick for her, as if her words were still thick with sleep.

Becca was curled in on herself as she slept, her arms folded in her lap and crossed in front of her chest, trying to make herself as small as possible. She was sitting up straight as she slept, definitely a feat, but she managed it. She opened her eyes and pushed her glasses up, looking around in confusion. Today was...was... Oh man, she could feel a fog in her brain when she tried to think of it. Wasn't it somehow important? But being on a train was something she'd never expected.

"Uhm...does anyone remember what day it is?"

[He's slow to wake, which is a new one to him. Granted, while he's not all that fond of mornings, he's never had an issue waking up once he's decided to, so this morning apathy is... really concerning. Bringing up his hand to his head and dragging it over his face, he blinks his eyes rapidly against the bright light and looks up-

... and around-

What the...?

[Latvia starts to walk down the aisle as soon as he feels awake enough and looks at everyone that he can find - this does not seem to be a train to Siberia, it is much too pleasant for that, so it must be that Russia took a trip and dragged him along. This means that he needs to find Russia as fast as possible, else his absence from the larger nation's immediate surroundings might be interpreted as an attempt to run away.

He checks on every person to see if they are someone that he knows, so expect a shaking blond 15-year-old boy to shyly look at your face before he tries to hastily move on.

Someone talking a little too loudly in the next car snaps him back to the waking world, and he opens is eyes and sits straight up, frantically trying to remember how he got here.]

After waking into the dull white light of the hospital, Utena was relieved. She'd come up from the dream and now it was fading away in whisps behind her eyes. Such a confusion and riot of symbolism, and she could barely believe it had been real. And yet how inevitable it had all seemed at the time.

That night though, she felt something pulling her down, spreading sticky cotton over her eyelids. She fought for consciousness but she was a leaf in the archetypal stream. Revolutions, roses, apocalypses, princes, brides...knights, princesses. The transition is almost seemless. Someone spliced in a new reel and the movie was continuing. A sequel?

She woke up on a train, standing, clutching the strap. She touched her uniform where the wound should have been. Nothing but a patch in the cloth and the slight tightness indicating an old scar. It was the same on the other side.

"Rakuen city huh..." Evidently she was not (ever?) done. She gathered her natural optimism around her. There was more to do in this new place.

[ Ruka wakes up, and she's immediately scared. The last thing she remembers is pressing the send button on the phone. And now, as though by magic, she is here. Of course her first thought is going to be: did the past change? But her body is the same. It's totally the same, and that coupled with the fact that she woke up in a place that is totally unfamiliar makes her cry. She hides her face and sobs. ]

[Her eyes opened slowly. Oh this had to be the strangest afterlife ever. Koharu had never imagined it would be on a train. She felt the frills at her neck and the gloves on her hands. Still in her magical girl outfit--that was the strangest part. She had imagined she'd be in normal clothes. A part of her seized up, Sora was probably dead--but it was too warm and comfortable and the train lulled the thought away. Sora was loud, she'd have heard her in the afterlife by now.

She closed her eyes against the sun, letting her mind drift until the train finally lurched to a stop
]

Oh! [She stumbled to her feet, ever obedient to the train voices, and looked around again.] Shouldn't there be more of us...people die everyday.

Dave didn't say anything. He couldn't. But he just looked around for a minute before adjusting his glasses. The story was so typical fairytale-esque that it all really just sounded like any other fairytale story he's heard.

Still. He knew he shouldn't be here. But he can't remember where he was last. Who he was with last. It was a strange feeling. He made no indication that he was lost or confused, the usual nonchalant expression on his face. He dug through his pockets quickly. No phone.

Huh...

Guess he's woken up to worst scenarios. And he hasn't died yet. That's a start.

Vriska was pissed when she awoke the second time. Her memory was foggy as she tried to concentrate on the last things that happened before she had woken up on the train. She chalked the fogginess up to sleep, which only succeeded in annoying her more. Why had she fallen asleep? She was in the middle of a fight, there's no way she would have just- No, she wasn't in a fight. The fight was over. She'd fallen because she was dying. Right. Her mind was blank from watching the coin flip to waking up here and the vague traces of some fairytale hanging at the edge of her memory. Had she been killed before the flip was even finished? She wasn't sure, she couldn't recall the death. She just knew, without a doubt, that she was dead.

Her fist clenched and she punched the seat of whoever was sitting in front of her as she tried to recall how it happened, but couldn't. She was dead with no recollection of how and she couldn't recall if it was justified or if she would wake up. Which brought her back to the place at hand. She turned to the window, peering through it. Dream bubble? This place seemed different from any dream bubble she had been in. She looked around. There were too many people, people that weren't in the game and shouldn't be in a dream bubble - asleep, dead, or otherwise.

It didn't make sense and she hated it, and she sank further into her seat, wings twitching feebly in the confined space of it. She shifted uncomfortably and glared in no particular direction. She should get up, check out what was going on and get some answers, but she didn't. No, she could do that later- if she was dead she had plenty of time to spare now. Right now she would really rather think about how much she wanted to punch Terezi in the face.

[As if being he had been smacked in the back of the head by a baseball bat, Scott sat up with lightning quick speed, waking up to his new surroundings.

Looking back and forth frantically, his heart began to race at the unfamiliar surroundings of the train. There were many passengers, none of which he immediately recognized. Perhaps he hadn't made it to the bus after his trip back from visiting Kim? But why was he on a train?

Scott stood up from his seat and began to move down the train, calling out without any proper concern for the other passengers.]

"KNIVES?! KIM?! STEPHEN STILLS?! . . . Wallace?"
