You're falling, and you can't remember why. It's a sickening feeling that makes your insides lurch; the darkness and the vertigo combine, and all you can think of is a story you heard once, somewhere.

Ah, I remember now. It's... a simple story that everyone knows. A legend of a Princess, the Demon Lord who kidnapped her, and the Knight who fought to save her. The Demon Lord had kidnapped the Princess countless times, but every time the Knight bested his challenges and rescued the Princess. No matter what tricks and ploys the Demon Lord used, the Knight would always triumph in the end. This was because--

The world tilts on its axis one last time, and the dream slips from your mind as easily as it arrived. A new voice intrudes on your sleep. Mechanical, monotonous.

"Next stop: Rakuen City. This train terminates here. The next stop is Rakuen. All change." The train rocks steadily as it winds its way through white drifts of now. Sunlight streams through the window, heating the air and making the seats almost uncomfortably warm. A puff of steam from the train winds its way lazily past the windows when the wind is right.

It's strangely difficult to shake off the sleep; the rhythm of the train seems to lull you back into slumber and the air is warm and heavy, making it hard to keep hold of a thought. Finally, though, the nausea settles, the last of the dream fades and you can take in your surroundings. And, perhaps more importantly, those around you in a similar state.

"We have arrived at Rakuen City. All passengers must leave the train. This train is terminating here. This is Rakuen."

[He's done so many worse things then breaking laws, but in this case he wasn't trying to attack Spain. He blinked at the person, who was definitely not who he thought it was.]

I am sorry [He bowed his head in apology] I thought you were someone else.

I would hate to be that person. ( When he's let go, Spain touches his neck carefully. He sounds grumpy but you can't exactly blame him after an awakening like that. However, once he's sure he's okay, his mood improves some. ) . . . Apology accepted.

Rakuen? Is that in Britannia?

[What was happening? Why would he be here, hadn't he been fighting? He didn't seem to be a prisoner...]

It could be! I'm afraid I don't know where either is though unless you mean Inglaterra's house. . . and I still don't know.

( Because why on earth would Spain care about British geography other than: Island. Rocky shores. Avoid in storms. )

[He blinked] The Holy Empire of Britannia. [How does anyone not know where that was.]

[koyo]

Hm? Is that where you're from?

[swordofzero]

I am from Japan. [He shrugs] But I am an honorary Britannian.

[koyo]

Ah, I see. ( he's totally assuming Suzaku just moved and has dual citizenship somewhere else too? ) Do you miss home?

[swordofzero]

[What an odd question, Suzaku blinked for a few minutes before shrugging. His feelings for Japan, and what he had done, though trying to think on specifics brought headaches he soon realised, and what he was trying to achieve with Lelouch's Zero Requiem were all far too complicated to be answered with a yes or no question of whether he missed Japan. But the man didn't seem like he was trying to cause hurt so Suzaku tried.]

I suppose I miss the past, what things used to be like before the war. [Before he had turned traitor, but he doesn't say that out loud. He had done much bad but it would be paid for, well when he wasn't on a train going somewhere strange...]

It does not matter, I am not welcome there...

[This was very touchy ground and he sought to change the subject.] Where are you from?

The war? ( What. . . war. Though confused, Spain is more sad. War is unfortunate and it sounds like this person has a complicated story. ) I'm sorry, I didn't know.

I'm-- ( Spain opens his mouth to answer but there's a pause. He knows where he's from. Of course he knows! But the name escapes him right now. ) from. . . a place. . . ?

[Suzaku's frown got deeper but by the time the man had failed to remember where he came from Suzaku was worried. Had he hit his head? Was this some kind of trauma?

Can you remember your name? [He is peering into Spain's eyes, not that he knows much about head trauma]

( No, he can't really. At least, not the one everyone knows. As unnerving as that is though, it isn't all lost. He was, after all, just waking up and probably recovering from shock or something or another. )

. . . You can call me Antonio. ( Staring back, smiling. ) Ay, what's that look for?

Nice to meet you Antonia. [He continued checking him] You seem to have some lost memories, can you remember hitting your head?

[koyo]

It doesn't feel like I hit anything.( But that really doesn't seem like the important thing, ) But do you think there's really a problem wrong with my memory? I'm old but not that old!

[swordofzero]

You seem to have forgotten some major world events... It might be the result of some kind of head trauma.

[He frowns, the man was definitely older than him but not someone Suzaku would call old.]

( Give Spain a moment to think. It doesn't seem like he's forgotten anything particularly important. )

Such as? ( Wait, major world events. That just sounds ominous. What is he talking about? ) Ay, did something happen?

Yes [Suzaku is very worried now, what was wrong with this man? He knew you had to be careful with memory loss victims though... and he didn't know where this man was from...]

You seem to have forgotten Britannia, it is a large empire.

[koyo]

Bretaña? ( Wow, Britain, really? Like, the British Empire? Is this guy stuck in the past or something? ) Of course I know him but he hasn't been an empire for a very long time.

[Blink blink] The Holy Empire of Britannia yes. What do you mean hasn't been an empire for a very long time?

Bretaña fell after the last World War. ( Everyone knows this. Even America teaches this in his schools. ) And was never a Holy Empire. You must be confusing him with someone else.

( Holy Roman Empire, perhaps? )

Well... the world is at war right now... We are working on taking down Britannia but... we are still fighting...

[This was very very strange]

Huh? I wonder. . . I'm sorry, I think we're talking about different things.
