Meet and Greet [Intro #2]

You are brought to your campus and shown to your dorm rooms before you are given permission to wander the campus and the town. Meaning Fortitude students can mingle with Conquest students, they can go visit the shop (shop post will be up later today), or speak to the headmistresses and mayor. Each student now has the Exaclan manuals, a uniform, a school bag with either a shield or a sword on it, and the glove used to pull weapons.

But make sure to come to the battle area later to see the exhibition match!

Take advantage of the free day, the freedom won't last long. Sooner rather than the later the round will start, Players will be named, Weapons will lose their privileges, and the battles will begin. So you might as well go out and make friend or start rivalries, anything to help you along later in the round.

"That's why I'm saying it's impossible. There is no way the royal family would allow Lelouch to come out of nowhere and take the throne. Not unless it was a coup d'etat and he murdered both Charles and all those in front of him in the succession line." And, okay, so he'd managed to survive and hide himself for all these years, but she had a hard time imagining that such a spoiled child could possibly compare to the rest of his family. Especially when the men and women in question had been trained to look for threats in every shadow, most especially from those whom they shared blood with.

"Unless he managed to get a powerful ace up his sleeve, there's just no way any of it could have happened."

Suzaku frowned, "It happened." Apparently everyone had forgotten things, something that had been done to them by this place. "It was a coup d'etat Charles is dead, so is Marianne," he frowned, "Schneizel has joined with the Black Knights, we are fighting him at the moment."

For a moment longer she seemed to think about all of this, before sighing and shaking her head. Yes, she'd known Spain was missing some key memories, but was it possible she too had lost some time thanks to this place? If so, that was pretty troubling. After all, this was her empire they were talking about. If anyone had to know about these things, it should be her.

Right, so with that decided, she looped her arm through Suzaku's and grinned. "Tell me everything later, okay? Right now I'm kind of hungry."

Suzaku stiffened when Britannia grabbed his arm and he tried to pull away. Unfortunately she was as large as Gino so he doubted it was going to work. It didn't stop him trying though.

As Suzaku gave a pointed yank on his arm, her grip tightened around the pilot's wrist and she turned to look at him, blinking. At that moment, Suzaku should have probably counted his lucky stars that all unnatural abilities were taken away upon entry. Otherwise he might very well be sporting a very large bruise tomorrow. As it was, her grip was still fairly strong for someone of her deceptively slender build.

"What?"

Suzaku didn't show any sign that he the grip was hurting at all. He met the woman's eyes and didn't try and pull away again. "Where are we going?"

"To go find a restaurant." She explained casually enough, still wondering why he seemed to be so against that. "Aren't you hungry too?" She knew she was, probably because she hadn't eaten anything for a while before the train ride and after... well, who knew how long they had been asleep on that thing?

Suzaku blinked but when he thought about it, he was quite hungry. The last thing he could remember before the train was being in the Lancelot, so he hadn't eaten for a while.

Britannia still hadn't let go of him though. "I guess..." He pulled at his arm again.

"Then that settles it!" And, heedless of Suzaku's bid for freedom, she began tugging him down the street towards the mercantile area, quite determined to find a place with some good tea and food. Given their height differences, it was obvious there was going to be some difficulty in the pace she set and how eagerly she walked, but she didn't seem to notice as she plodded right along, looking all about for a place to go.

"What do you feel like?"

What was it with tall, blonde, Britannian's and dragging Suzaku around like a rag doll. He hurried to keep up with the nation.

"I..." He looked around and shrugged, "We don't even know if the food here is the same, do we have any money?"

"Oh, that's true." Britannia remarked as she started digging into her pocket on her free side, coming away with the two coins she had found in the bag with her uniform. "And I found this with the uniform." As she held up the coins for Suzaku to examine, she gave a shrug.

"Apparently this place is called Rakuen."

"Oh." Suzaku hadn't even touched his uniform, or the bag that came with it so had no money.

"Rakuen, that's not in Britannia is it?"

"I don't think so." She replied as they reached the mercantile area, causing her to look around for a suitable store. "It sounds Eleven-ish though, so maybe. I'll ask Kiku later when I see him again."

"Japanese," Suzaku corrected. The change was relatively new, and sometimes even he still got mixed up and still called the areas by number so he didn't say it in annoyance, just as a reminder, since Britannia had obviously forgot.

"Yes it is a Japanese word it means..." Suzaku frowned, was it a Japanese word? It sounded so familiar and yet...

He tried to bring Japanese to mind, any Japanese even the simplest greeting and all it got him was a headache. He paled.

"It means what?" Britannia prodded when Suzaku trailed off and fell silent. When a few seconds passed without answer, she glanced back at him and slowed her steps at the look on his face. Like he had just walked through a ghost.

"Suzaku? You okay?"

Suzaku blinked at Britannia, "I... can't remember..." He looked down and frowned at the headache which was building as he tried to think of just one word of Japanese, any word.

"I can't remember any of it..."

"You can't remember what?" She prodded, slowing to a stop as she turned to face the brunette with a raised eyebrow.

"Japanese..." He met Britannia's eyes for a moment. "I can't..." How could he have forgotten his language, an entire language, his first language...

"You mean the language?" She clarified, blinking at this little revelation. How far did this memory loss go exactly, she wondered. Names, events, entire chunks of their lives and now even whole languages. More importantly, what was the point of taking away such knowledge to begin with...?

Suzaku nodded numbly, what else had he forgotten? If they could take away a whole language, that he had spoken before he could even remember... they could take anything...

"Hmm... that's kind of scary." Came the mild remark as she assumed his horror was over how powerful the people had kidnapped them could be. "Well at least it was only that." She added after a moment, giving him an encouraging smile.

Suzaku nodded, it was scary, how could they have such power? Was it some sort of Geass like Charles'?

"It is a large thing to be taken..." He said softly.

"Well it's not like you need it anymore." Britannia pointed out, trying in her own unique way to be comforting. (Save for the fact that this wasn't the least bit comforting in any shape or form.)

"And if it really bugs you, you can just learn it again. I'll even get Kiku to help!"

Suzaku's eyes flashed at the first comment but Suzaku remembered that if she was to be believed this woman was Britannia herself, and not going to care whether Suzaku could speak Japanese. In fact she probably considered it a victory.

He guessed Kiku was Britannia's name for Japan, the person who was Japan. Or it was their name, did Britannia have another name as well?

Either way the idea of asking Japan for help with Japanese, after everything Suzaku had done, made him feel sick so he just shrugged. "I doubt he would wish to help me."

She did, a "human name" so to speak. Why it existed? Probably for the same purpose as everyone else's. To help them connect with the people of their country, to keep them from feeling too aloof. To help them blend in when people weren't supposed to know who they really were. Any of the above answers, really.

"Well that doesn't really matter, does it?"
