Monday: Art class

Summary: ART CLASS. Tag Roxie, or thread around amongst yourselves.
Warnings: art class
Being told she was supposed to teach art hadn't bothered Roxie. She didn't have a teaching license or anything, but whatever -- she knew art, she could teach art. She had better things to do, but she might as well help enrich the next generation's minds while she was at it. Or something.

Or so she thought until she sat down on Sunday night to come up with a lesson plan and found that she had no idea what she was doing.

Anyone coming into the art classroom on Monday morning will find Roxie sitting grumpily behind a desk. On the whiteboard behind her, she's scrawled the words, "DRAW SOMETHING."

It had been at least half an hour and Shion was coming on with his drawing. Or rather there were lines on the page, they were not good though. It was meant to be a person, he'd gotten the idea from the boy who had sat beside him. Specifically it was meant to be Nezumi but looking at the drawing you could only really tell it was supposed to be human.

He would need a lot more practice. The teacher didn't seem that interested in teaching the class or didn't know how to teach so Shion was a little stuck. He looked around and saw Becca sat at the back. He got up and went over to sit next to her, because she looked upset.

"Hello Becca!"

She looked away from him, over at the wall. She didn't want him to see the tears streaming down her cheeks. "Hi, Shion," she answered, her voice giving away that she'd been crying. "How's your drawing coming?" she asked, not wanting to look over at it herself.

Shion reached out to touch her shoulder, "What's wrong Becca?" Because it was obvious she was crying.

Becca flinched away from the touch on instinct, but she couldn't get very far given the way they were sitting. The warning penalty tore through Becca's head and she yelped in pain, scooting further away from him to break the contact.

"Don't touch me!"

Suddenly a threadjack

The lead on his pencil breaks. He pressed down too hard, but it wasn't on purpose. He felt his head throb. It was faint, and it didn't even really bother him too much.

He casually got to his feet and made his way over to Shion and Becca though. His expression was unreadable as ever and he taps Shion's shoulder before folding his arms and glancing at Becca. At least, it looks like he glanced at her. Who knows. Honestly, he didn't even know why she was freaking out, since Shion didn't seem to be doing anything out of the ordinary. But hey, if it'll get his Weapon to stop freaking out, he'll deal.

The pain hit Shion the same time as it did Becca and he clutched his head. "I'm sorry!" He vaguely remembered something about not being allowed to touch other people's weapons, in the handbook.

When he looked up at the touch on his shoulder he paled a bit at the kid with sunglasses, who even though was a few years younger than Shion, looked angry.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to hurt her!"

Becca whimpered and wrapped her arms around herself. She had more of a headache now, but that was because she was trying to remember why she was so touchy about being touched. It had something to do with the scars on her arms, but she couldn't for the life of her remember how she'd gotten them. She looked up at Dave and forced a smile, even though it was painfully obvious she wasn't feeling it.

"I'm okay... I'm okay..."

He waved his hand in a dismissive manner at Shion. He didn't think the other was trying to hurt Becca. He seemed like a legit guy. He dug around his pocket until he extracted his PDA, quickly typing into it and showed the screen to him.

He didn't know why thought. Dave looked back at her before folding his arms again. He didn't look convinced yet that she was just okay.

Shion was a bit worried at the lack of talking but he read the PDA, realising that maybe Dave couldn't talk. He nodded slowly, he hadn't even thought of that, that someone might be uncomfortable with even friendly gestures that involved touching. Also that it had caused her pain, because of the Warning Penalty. He felt guilty for hurting her.

"I am sorry Becca, I didn't mean to scare you. I was just worried." He looked back at Dave, he was good to come to Becca's rescue, and Shion was glad she had found a friend already.

Becca nodded weakly, grateful that Dave had come over to take attention off of her. She fidgeted nervously, still weakly trying to smile. "I'm okay, really. I just... I don't like being touched," she explained evasively. "It's all cool now, you're not touching me any more, everything's happy."

Because Dave honestly never did this with people before. He always kind of had his own agenda. And he couldn't really make his shitty, ironic comics with other people. Especially since they sometimes got...well they weren't usually school appropriate.

Shion read the PDA and then nodded, "I have never drawn before," he told the boy truthfully, "Art is banned where I come from so I definitely am no master drawer." Was that a thing people did? Shion had no idea, but if Becca and this boy were up to it so was he.

"I'm Shion by the way."

"I'm an amazing artist...and that's one of the memories they took from me... If I touch the paper I'm gonna get a hideous headache," Becca sighed, putting her head down on the desk. "So you two draw... I'll take a nap or something."

Gosh. All this Debbie Downer bullshit was going to piss him off one day. But, he's already seen that anything physical would freak her out. How do you kindly tell someone to suck it up? Probably will just shrug it off and head back to his seat so he can stare at blank paper again.
