Battle (Monday after school)

Suzaku Kururugi vs.Dahlia Hawthorne

Weapons: Feferi Peixes and Lelouch vi Britannia
Location: Grassy area in town
Time of day: Directly after school

Suzaku and Feferi were waiting at the place they had agreed to meet Dahlia and Lelouch, although Suzaku was confident that he could win this he was nervous, as a trident was a weapon he had only used in practice. He looked to Feferi to check she was okay, and waited quietly for the others.

At the appointed time, Dahlia arrived at the meeting place with Lelouch. She hated the idea of losing on purpose, but at least it meant the fight would be short, and she'd still get three raks for it anyway.

She looked a bit nervous, though, as though she'd never fought even once in her life. She glanced at Feferi -- another one of those weird grey people? What was with them? -- and bit her lip.

Feferi gave Suzaku a comforting pat on the shoulder. "It's going to be all right. You got some practice in earlier, and I think you'll be fine."

She stepped back, waiting for him to withdraw the trident.

Suzaku nodded at her and then at Lelouch and Dahlia. Dahlia looked nervous, Suzaku noted as he turned back to Feferi. Steadying her with one hand he pulled the trident out with the other. Stepping back he held it as she had shown him and nodded. Ready.

Lelouch looked bored, as usual. Like this was a completely average event, not at all unusual. He came up and stood beside Dahlia, Upgrade rings on his fingers. Undead. Cute. And a mild boost to his player's dexterity, which now made this a fight between a lion and a slightly faster mouse.

"I'm ready when you are, Miss Player," he said coolly.

Dahlia nodded again. She pulled out her glove controller and slipped it daintily onto her right hand, then turned to Lelouch.

"I beg your pardon," she said, then reached out to take his weapon. A sword -- and no matter how much she pulled it seemed there was still more to pull out. Finally, once it was all out, she lost her grip with a gasp and it clattered to the ground.

She flinched, and quickly knelt down to pick it up and brush it off. "I'm sorry! It's just so heavy..."

Suzaku watched carefully, not that he thought the young girl could actually hurt Lelouch. He winced when she dropped the sword, "Careful," he told her firmly angry that she had hurt Lelouch even by accident., and then sighed, "Do you know how to use it?"

"Are you all right?" Feferi called out to Lelouch from across the battlefield. Player or Weapon didn't matter to Feferi, though she had tried her hardest not to hurt her Weapons when she was on the other side. It wasn't as if she didn't feel sympathy for the girl, though. She looked so delicate that a gust of wind might break her.

The dropping of his sword made for a twinge of pain, but nothing that made him break that bored look. But he smiled a bit for Dahlia's sake. "I'm alright. I don't know why it's like that..." Indeed he'd never seen the designs of this sword before aside from that dream he'd had before he woke up on the train. And it was named after Shinkiro.

He looked back to the other two. "It's fine. I guess my weapon is larger than I thought it would be."

Dahlia struggled to hold the weapon up, and in the end settled for just holding the handle, the tip still on the ground. But she forced a smile back at Lelouch. What a stupid sword. Who could ever use something this impractical? "That's quite all right. You have no control over it, after all..."

She looked over at Suzaku. "I suppose I should just... say that I surrender, correct? That was the plan..."

It was the emperors sword, which did not surprise Suzaku at all, but the fact that Lelouch showed no recognition whatsoever did. At her words he blinked, plan? The trident in his hand disappeared as did the sword in hers.

He had won? He looked confused and looked over to Feferi before turning back to Dahlia and Lelouch, "Plan?" This was Lelouch's plan?

Feferi merely looked between Suzaku, Lelouch, and Dahlia. What in the world had just happened? She couldn't say she understood. Wasn't the point to fight? She wouldn't complain if it didn't end in bloodshed - she was glad for that, even. But...was it really so simple?

"I don't get it, either..."

Lelouch just smirked back at the others. "Suzaku, do you honestly think I was going to ask you to actually fight a girl like this?" He looked a bit amused, actually. "She's younger than Nunnally." As he spoke, he began to cross the gap between the two Players.

Dahlia relaxed and let out a sigh as the sword vanished from her grip. She didn't appreciate Lelouch patronizing her like that, but at least it meant he didn't see any sort of threat in her.

She followed close behind Lelouch, in case Suzaku wanted to shake hands or something. "I'm very sorry. I simply assumed that you were aware of the arrangement..."

Suzaku blinked and then nodded, he supposed she wasn't a fighter, this way she wouldn't get hurt. He nodded to her politely, "Don't worry Dahlia, Lelouch often forgets to tell others his plans."

"I'm just glad that this was settled with no one getting hurt. Are you all right, Miss Dahlia? I hope it wasn't a strain on you, either." Feferi didn't see any clear injuries or anything, but the girl did look delicate.

Then she turned to Lelouch, giving him a warm smile.

He turned to Feferi. "I don't believe we've met before. I'm Lelouch. Suzaku and I have been friends since we were children." Some would say they still were. Some would be wrong.

[traces]

"I'm quite all right, thank you," Dahlia replied, smiling at Feferi shyly, as though the other girl's appearance made her nervous. "I'm just glad we were able to settle that without any violence. I wouldn't want to hurt anybody."

"I am glad you are alright," he nodded at her and then fell silent, allowing Feferi to introduce herself.

Feferi made a light curtsy to both of them, then extended a hand to Lelouch. "My name is Feferi Peixes. I know I look, well..." She took the moment to point to her horns and fins.

"Weird. But I'm friendly, I promise. Suzaku's been a really good friend, and I hope I can be friends with all of you, opposite sides or not."

He took her hand and gave it an amiable shake. "I don't hold the actions of an individual against all those that look like him. If Suzaku trusts you, then that's enough for me." Not really, but it sounded appropriate. "Yes, we're all prisoners here, all the same."

[traces]

"Yes, it's what's inside that really matters," Dahlia added. "I'm very sorry, Miss Feferi. I didn't mean to prejudge you."

Suzaku nodded, he trusted Feferi, despite having only known her just over a week now. It hadn't even crossed his mind to blame Feferi for what Gamzee had done, despite them both being trolls.

But then again Suzaku was both good at not being prejudice against groups of people for the actions of individuals, and knew what such things felt like. He kept quiet though, glad that he had won no matter how underhand it has been.
