Characters: Kevin Smith and Inui Sadaharu
Format: prose
This log is: closed
Location: Tennis courts in town.
Summary: It's the reunion of a couple of tennis lunatics players!
Warnings: tba
It was cold this morning which meant he'd have to do more than his usual warm-ups, Kevin noted. As he set his bag on the bench and looked out over at the empty tennis courts in the center of town, he figured he had enough time to get a few good rallies in before he'd have to shower and head to Golbez's class. Normally at this time of day he'd be (forcibly) at Gino's fashion class but since that teacher was currently out cold with a coma, Kevin had chosen to spend his time here instead.

As Kevin began to loosen his shoulders with a few basic stretches, he quickly did a few rotations of his ankles as well before starting on a light jog around the court, checking for any debris that could have blown onto the lines during the night. All the while forcing himself to clear his mind and not think about what could have put Gino into that coma. Thinking about stuff like that just made him tense up, lose focus and get angry. Especially considering what had happened to him last week.

'This entire place is a friggin' nightmare.' He thought softly as he completed on circuit and began a second, his breath coming out in tiny white clouds that dispersed quickly. Rounding a corner, the youth quickly shook his head free of those thoughts.

'Focus!' He chided himself, 'Think of your new move and forget about him! You can't do anything right now.' Which, of course, only made him more angry. With a slow curse, Kevin picked up the pace and started a full out run to get the tension out of his body.

Inui had gone for his habitual early morning run before heading to town. He'd woken even earlier than usual, which was saying something--when he left, the sun was barely breaking the horizon. It had risen fully, however, by the time he finished the two hour regimen, and he could still see his breath as he routed back away from the school towards town. He'd acquired a map of the island on the day of his arrival, but had only recently found the time to look at it. Once he'd had the time to study it in depth, however, he'd located the tennis court immediately--surprisingly, it wasn't on school grounds; town, as he understood it, was neutral territory.

Hopefully, he wouldn't find any trouble.

As he approached the courts, however, Inui did find something--or rather, someone.

He squinted, slowing down slightly as he got closer.

Who else would be occupying the courts at this kind of hour?
