As classes continue on Friday the weather gets continuously worse until teachers announce that the last class will be cancelled. Screens display the message that all students must report to their dorms but power outages and flickers render them mostly ineffectual. Prefects are instead sent out, armed with waterproofs to make sure all students make it back to their dorms.

Thunder crashes and lightning lights up the sky as the lights flicker and the wind gets steadily louder. Students are required to remain inside, prefects are sent round with snacks and all prepare themselves for a long, wet and windy afternoon.

Merlin is hurrying up towards Pale dorm, water trickling down his neck. He had gotten a bit delayed, not lost. Of course not lost, it was just that things looked different in the rain.

Oh you wanted to go to the pale dorm? Well, about that. You see, the thing is, the king requires your services. What services are those, you may be asking, as it is raining very hard and there is little that you could possibly be doing. But it is one of the most important things you could be doing, Merlin. Amusing the king.

Yes. Arthur is bored out of his mind and it's not exactly weather he can work out in or anything, so he did the next best thing. Find Merlin. He wants to call Merlin's name and see him stumble as it makes him black out (they really should take care of that) but instead he jogs up behind him, claps him on the shoulder.

"Where are you headed?"

What was the king doing here? This wasn't even his school. "Pale dorm." He told him with a frown, "The prefects said to go to our dorm rooms, why are you here?"

He puts an arm around Merlin's shoulders, "Well let's get you checked in and then you can come back to Conquest with me."

What? Why? "It's raining," He pointed at the sky, because Arthur was really so dumb he probably hadn't noticed. "You're not even supposed to be here, and the prefects said we had to go inside and stay there."

Arthur noticed the rain, thank you very much.

"Very good, and that's the sky," he points up, "and that's the ground," he points down.

"I can be wherever I please, there is no one here who rules over me, I am King after all. And as I remember it I'm your King so are you going to do what I say or what they say?"

Merlin frowned, and ignored Arthur but he supposed he had a point. Though he wasn't king here and Merlin wasn't convinced they should annoy those in charge. It was usually a bad idea. "Where are we going?"

Just because he wasn't King here doesn't mean that he's not a King still. He can use his powers. Or run away. Either one.

"We'll check you in at your dorm so they know you're not dead, then we'll decide from there."

Merlin followed him though he was pretty certain they would struggle to get him out the dorm again once the prefects had him inside.
