On Sunday morning, a day that dawned bright if a bit crisp and cold the screens on the campus' instructed everyone to go to their foyers at twelve as normal. The Conquest students would see Day stood on stage with Santana, Cirno, Yuka and Suzaku. The Fortitude kids would see Dolorosa stood with Becca, Alex and Yuri.

However the two headmistress' were not the one who spoke, instead the screens flickered to life and it was Dunleavy's face that smiled down on them. "Hello students and teachers of Conquest and Fortitude, welcome to those who are new and I hope that those who went on the school trip last week had a fulfilling time. You all did well and the winners of our competition will be announced when they are compiled."

She smiled at them again, "I hope you are all ready to get back to work, and study hard this week. I will leave you to your studies with the list of those who are Players this week." With another smile she disappeared from the screen and the list came up.

Wow. That must be nice, if a bit boring. Even if she doesn't have responsibilities surely there are things she could do besides sleep?

Well, she's usually bored when she's awake, too. But sometimes she comes out and fights a little. She usually holds back by a lot.

She's actually crazy powerful. In a straight-up fight she'd flatten just about anyone, but Spell Card dueling is more about skill.

Yeah, someone set up this whole system of non-lethal duels. Basically the first person to run out of spells loses, but there are also rules for making your spells look good. I had a few cards, but they're not here and I can't remember the names of any of them.

You fight using magic? [Non lethaly? So like they fought here... Every time Merlin had fought using magic it was because someone was trying to kill him or the king. So the idea was novel.]

Yep! And from that expression I take it you know a little about magic yourself.

[He opens his mouth to deny it, but the king already knows and so... there's no point in keeping it a secret any longer...] A little yes.
