Meet and Greet [intro #1]

As you all crowd onto the platform with your bizarre mix of faces, expressions, clothing and wild theories, you are met by two girls. Both are in uniforms that would match if not for the colour differences - skirt, waistcoat, and a light summer shirt that seems totally inappropriate for the thin layer of snow coating the station platform. Both have a beret with a crest - one's shows a sword, the other's a shield.

At the first lull in the chatter, the taller girl, her uniform red and white, speaks out over the crowd.

"Hey, losers!"

She explains, in short, irritated sentences, that they're prefects, representing the two schools in Rakuen. Santana, Conquest, she says, gesturing to herself with a smile that would be smug if she didn't look so annoyed to be out here. Nanami here is Fortitude, she adds, pointing to the pale girl half-leaning on her other arm. The girl nods.

"We're here to get you sorted and back to campus. If you wanna ask stupid questions, do it on the way. It's freezing out here."

The girl introduced as Nanami interrupts. "When we say your name, please move quickly and quietly to us."

"Yeah, then we can go back to the dorms."

They separate, moving to stand several metres apart, and both pull a list from their waistcoat pocket. Alternating, they start to read out your names.

When he sees she's looking at him, he'll look right back at her and smile. Him? He's as innocent as a flower. snort]

[What? Check out how disarmingly composed he looks amongst all these grumbling people. That's got to count for something, right?]

[ it counts for that fact that he's obviously going to be difficult. So she looks rather cold as she walks over to him. ]

Yuri. [Nooo hesitation.]

I see. Is there a reason you did not answer to your name before, Yuri?

[mrdickery]

I don't remember signing up for school.

[effortless]

Neither do I, but then, I was dead at the time. I am not certain when consent could have been given, but I remember giving it. Is this worrying you?

[mrdickery]

You- whoa, wait- what? Slow down a second, you were dead?

[effortless]

Ah, was I not supposed to say that? Well, it doesn't matter. Yes, I was killed by my brother before I arrived here. It must have made the process rather difficult, but I don't remember most of it.

[mrdickery]

So- what, you're a ghost now? [This... this just went far beyond his zone of comfortable conversation.]

[effortless]

Well... I am 'undead', as far as the battle system is concerned, but that has no bearing on my physical condition. I am essentially alive. Don't misunderstand.

[mrdickery]

And how exactly did that happen? People don't just get up again after they've been killed. [Otherwise, Yuri would have a lot of people haunting his ass.]

Who knows? I wouldn't be a particularly useful sword if I was dead.
