Meet and Greet [intro #1]

As you all crowd onto the platform with your bizarre mix of faces, expressions, clothing and wild theories, you are met by two girls. Both are in uniforms that would match if not for the colour differences - skirt, waistcoat, and a light summer shirt that seems totally inappropriate for the thin layer of snow coating the station platform. Both have a beret with a crest - one's shows a sword, the other's a shield.

At the first lull in the chatter, the taller girl, her uniform red and white, speaks out over the crowd.

"Hey, losers!"

She explains, in short, irritated sentences, that they're prefects, representing the two schools in Rakuen. Santana, Conquest, she says, gesturing to herself with a smile that would be smug if she didn't look so annoyed to be out here. Nanami here is Fortitude, she adds, pointing to the pale girl half-leaning on her other arm. The girl nods.

"We're here to get you sorted and back to campus. If you wanna ask stupid questions, do it on the way. It's freezing out here."

The girl introduced as Nanami interrupts. "When we say your name, please move quickly and quietly to us."

"Yeah, then we can go back to the dorms."

They separate, moving to stand several metres apart, and both pull a list from their waistcoat pocket. Alternating, they start to read out your names.

[She says this as if she's answering some sort of trivia question.]

[Still completely baffled by the situation (in fact, more baffled, as he has just found out that a train looks nothing like he imagined on the outside and has no horses, and therefore might move by magic), Lithuania pads over to the girl who called his name.]

Why are we going to two different places?

I guess I'm over here.... [Nope he doesn't look cold at all, in fact he's busily rolling up his sleeves of his dress shirt and he's a little sweaty.]

[Red hangs back near the train until he hears someone say his name. Looking up, he sees the girl who said it. He hesitates for a moment, then walks over to the small crowd forming around her, hunched over a little at the back of the group.]

Before any of us go anywhere with you, I have some questions.

[Santana has now acquired a bouncy troll girl.]

Yo, Gino here. [ he heard some of the others talking whilst throwing Lelouch over to the other side, so he's not as confused, but... ]

You gonna explain a few things when we get to this conquest place?

[Koharu steps up, hands clasped in front of her. She looks like she's straight out of a cartoon with her frills and ribbons and the elaborately set jewel at her waist. She bobs her head in greeting and smiles]

I'm Koharu...I'm afraid I'm a little confused. If it's the afterlife, why are we being separated?

Campus? So you're saying you brought everyone here to go to school? Because Aisha already graduated a long time ago.

[And she's cold for some reason. The fact that she's just wearing a green cloak and nearly-destroyed clothes underneath isn't helping.]

Conquest... [She repeats.

"Control". She likes it.

Smiling!] Road Kamelot he~re.

[There's a slight, tentative look coming from a girly-looking guy wearing golden earrings. Okay, well maybe not that girly, since the rest of his outfit is biker stuff, save for the funky metal wristbands.]

...right. [Raises his hand as he hears his name.] I'm here, I'm here. Say, why didn't we get a heads-up about the weather? Couldn't you have, I don't know...give us a scarf, at least?

You called my name, but I can't be in this one. I'm going over to Fortitude.

[This whole situation is disconcerting, to say the least. Aqua is under the impression that she somehow landed in this strange world on her way to Radiant Garden, so while she isn't as concerned as the others are in that sense, she is very wary about the fact that she is almost powerless here.

How is it possible that the powers of light could be taken from me...? Whoever brought us here has to be someone incredibly powerful-- but what sort of person are they to do this?

Amidst these troubled thoughts, she heard the sound of her name being called. She glances up and nods in answer, though here is a small furrow in her brow.]

"I'm Becca," admits the slender girl, stepping forward. She's surprised to be called first, but whatever. "What's going on?" She didn't want to leave Lithuania alone, but there was obviously some sort of plan for them. Best to split up.

[Why are they naming off countries? ...Nope, better ask.]

Several of you share names with countries in your worlds. [ hmm ] I suppose it is more complicated, but an explanation like that can wait.

[Sollux doesn't actually get as far as hearing his own name called out before he's distracted by Feferi's, and cooperating with these people immediately takes a back seat to finding her. She's dead, after all; he wasn't expecting to be able to see her again any time soon.]

[or, well, ever, if we're going to be pedantic about it. He's going to have to make more of an effort to dispense with the vision-based turns of phrase.]

Wait – [he raises his voice a little] FF? Are you here?

[That's a voice Feferi didn't expect to hear. It was good to have a familiar face around here, at least.]

[The fact that he can't actually see her is lost on her. She's on her tiptoes waving.]

[They stand side by side as all of the new students pile out of the train, some in groups, some alone. Santana has her arms crossed and Nanami leans on her lightly for support]

[Santana scoffs]

These are our new students, huh?

[ her hands are curled around Santana's upper arm as she watches the new arrivals. She seems as bored as ever, but there's a hint of an exhale when she sees no one she recognises. ]

It seems so.
