Meet and Greet [intro #1]

As you all crowd onto the platform with your bizarre mix of faces, expressions, clothing and wild theories, you are met by two girls. Both are in uniforms that would match if not for the colour differences - skirt, waistcoat, and a light summer shirt that seems totally inappropriate for the thin layer of snow coating the station platform. Both have a beret with a crest - one's shows a sword, the other's a shield.

At the first lull in the chatter, the taller girl, her uniform red and white, speaks out over the crowd.

"Hey, losers!"

She explains, in short, irritated sentences, that they're prefects, representing the two schools in Rakuen. Santana, Conquest, she says, gesturing to herself with a smile that would be smug if she didn't look so annoyed to be out here. Nanami here is Fortitude, she adds, pointing to the pale girl half-leaning on her other arm. The girl nods.

"We're here to get you sorted and back to campus. If you wanna ask stupid questions, do it on the way. It's freezing out here."

The girl introduced as Nanami interrupts. "When we say your name, please move quickly and quietly to us."

"Yeah, then we can go back to the dorms."

They separate, moving to stand several metres apart, and both pull a list from their waistcoat pocket. Alternating, they start to read out your names.

[she applauds sarcastically] Yay, finally a good question. If you want to get out of here you'll get good at fighting these battles. Play along with the system where you can, that will help you in the long run. Battling can hurt you but it's not that bad unless your weapon is broken. You can die, but you can't really. You just wake up the next day.

[Koharu bites her tongue but wow you are giving her a terrible impression of this place] I see. Does losing mean you die or something else?

Losing what? A battle? You won't die if you lose a battle, you're fine. It just means that you lost your Weapon.

...I see...How am I supposed to find my weapon? Is it provided?

[straightupzorra]

There are two types of weapons. The person who is the Weapon, capital W, and the weapon that is drawn from their body, lower case W. When you lose a battle you lose the person-Weapon and the battle-weapon you fought with.

Your weapon is in your body.

[shootingforpeace]

I...I see. I-um...how do you come to ...get Weapons?

[straightupzorra]

You need to vow to protect them and then they're yours. It's some magical shit or whatever.

Or you get a link charm.

Magical?...Maybe I'll do well then; I'm quite used to magical things.

[straightupzorra]

Wait, really? What can you do?

[shootingforpeace]

Well...I don't think I can do them now, but I was a magical girl. I fought witches and such.

[straightupzorra]

...You were a magical girl who fought witches. [to herself] I've been here so long that that seems like a valid lifestyle. [to Koharu] How did you fight them?

[shootingforpeace]

Me? Guns and rifles. Every magical girl uses something different though. I know that must seem strange though!

[straightupzorra]

Guns huh, most people won't have a gun for a weapon, and if your weapon is a gun most Players won't know how to use it, or they'll be against using it. Still, guns are pretty sweet weapons around here. What do the other magical girls have? [and how can she get them into her school]

[shootingforpeace]

...Well I know someone who does crossbows and...[She pauses]...I can't remember what Yuki does...That's strange.

[straightupzorra]

Yeah, you'll find that you have a few gaps in memories, you can buy them back later. But word from the wise, get your upgrades first, I can't stand people who buy memory charms before upgrades just so they can relearn how to tie their shoes.

...You can forget how to tie your shoes? I thought it was just important things

It can be something important or something dumb. I forgot song lyrics for one of my memories.
