Round Two start: Conquest School

Just like last Sunday; when characters wake up the next morning there will be an announcement on all the screens. "Please report to the lobby at 12 noon for important information about this round." Any who fail, refuse or get lost are found by Santana and taken swiftly to the lobby.

Day is stood on the small raised podium again, this time eating a plum. Santana sits next to her. "So it's been an exciting week," she starts with a grin, she looks like she is in a good mood. Still her face turns stern for a moment as she speaks. "Because I would much rather focus on positive things I am going to get the negative out of the way first." She fixes them with a level stare. "Rules." As she begins speaking some members of the audience will begin to get a headache. Suzaku, Golbez, Homura and others who have broken the rules this week. The headache intensifies as Day continues speaking.

"Rules are on page nine of the player handbook which you all have been given. Any one who cannot read may request a copy be sent to their PDA, an advanced PDA will read the rules to you. there is no excuse for breaking them they are there for a reason!" She smiled, the pain went away from the affected character's minds.

"Now we have put those unpleasantries aside. I would like to congratulate you on what was a truly wonderful round!" She grinned looking like an excited kid, "As you may have guessed from the extra raks you received Conquest won this round and you may all be incredibly proud of yourselves!"

On the screen behind her the Battle records for Conquest and the Interschool battles that they had fought were shown. She read the conquest battle records first.

"Aqua vs Golbez, congratulations Aqua. Homura Akemi vs Lithuania, congratulations Lithuania, Aisha Clan Clan vs Feferi Piexes, congratulations Aisha." She smiled at the crowd.

"Also in fighting Fortitude you all did brilliantly, congratulations to Lithuania, who fought Shion and won, Homura Akemi who fought Shion and won, Feferi Peixes who fought Kotarou and won, Aisha Clanclan who fought Dave Strider and won, Homura Akemi who fought Dave Strider and won and to Lithuania who fought Spain and won." She is positively beaming by now.

"Finally I would like us all to offer our congratulations to Lithuania for being the only Round Winner of last round. A round of applause please!" She waited until the clapping died down before adding, "I hope those who are players this next round follow his example and fight as hard as he did."

The battle records disappear. "Next I welcome our new students who joined us yesterday, I am sure you are pleased to know that you truly joined the superior school. Now I have here the list of those chosen to be Players this round, for those who have just joined us this means these students and teachers are the only persons with rights this week. The rest of you have no rights, you may be granted rights by being owned by a Player." She smiled at them again, this time her smile was a little less than friendly.

"To own a weapon you must vow to them, you know the vow has worked when they receive a sword mark on their hand," she held her own hand up to show to new ones what it looked like. She took another bite of plum. "Players may give their Weapons permission to access the school facilities, and to eat from the full cafeteria menu among other things. If you haven't got a Player then you are a Discard, make sure you know all the rules and do exactly what Santana tells you to. There is no school today but I suggest you use the time to vow to Weapons if you are a Player or find a Player if you are a Weapon. School is Monday to Friday starting 8am sharp. All this is in your manual; please read it."

Her excited grin was back, "So those chosen to continue winning this week are:

Suzaku nodded, "Thank you Feferi." He watched the sword appear on her hand and then stood. "Obviously you can do whatever you wish to," he took a notepad and a pen from his rucksack and wrote a note in small neat handwriting so that she had proof of that.

"You're very welcome, Suzaku." She smiled, watching him stand up. "Just remember that if you need me, all you need do is contact me. Do you have a PDA?"

She fished hers out of her purse, then found her wallet, tucking the note safely inside.

"They're handy for things like this." A moment later, she paused.

"I guess, since I don't really know what I am, we should test it?"

"I do." He pulled his own PDA out, before nodding. "If that is alright with you?"

Feferi nods, getting to her own feet. "I'm ready when you are." She was a touch nervous, but she trusts him. It's going to be okay.

[ooc: her weapon is a trident.]

Suzaku nodded and took the glove out of his bag. Her chest started to glow and he steadied her before reaching in to pull out the weapon. He knew how it felt from the last round.

He pulled out the trident and stepped backwards.

Feferi braced for that feeling, but hadn't quite been prepared. It was a good thing Suzaku had steadied her beforehand.

She gasped at the sight of the trident, both in amazement and a little awe. It was a mix of being surprised that something that big came out of her chest and at the look and design of it. "...it's beautiful."

Suzaku nodded, it was beautiful; if any weapon could ever be called such. He had never fought with a trident before though, "Do you know how to use it?"

"I'm more used to a double-ended one, but I do. If I had to compare it to something, it's kind of like combining a staff with a set of short knives. Better at a bit of a range, or to keep an opponent at a distance." It was a bit odd for Feferi to explain her own strife specibus, but that was part of it.

"It's one of the traditional weapons of royalty, back at home. As the heiress apparent to the throne - not that I intended to rule things the way the Empress does - learning it was just as much a part of training as dance lessons and the rest."

Suzaku had only ever used a staff in practice as a child, but he nodded. With practice he should be able to work out the best way to fight with it, if he was to use Feferi to win Lelouch.

He blinked in surprise to hear that she was the heiress to the throne but nodded, "Could you show me how to use it?"

"I don't make a big deal of the whole Empress thing. I don't want any special treatment or things like that. I want to live as much of a normal life as I can."

She nodded at Suzaku's question. "I think we're done here. Let's head out to the courtyard, and I'll give you a lesson."

"I guess that must be hard, if you are next in line to the throne, to live a normal life." He nodded and began to make his way out to the courtyard. "Thank you Feferi."

"It's difficult, but I do what I can. Letting it get me down isn't my style." She grinned and managed a laugh.

Once they were outside, Feferi took the trident in hand. "Okay. The first thing is how to hold it. It's a two-handed weapon, and you want to keep your left hand nearest to the prongs. That way, you can use both ends."

She began to move, then, demonstrating as she did. First one end up, the blunt end, then a turn, pointing the prongs forward. "The advantage is that you can parry with one end, and it gives you a solid chance of disarming them in the process, if their weapon gets caught in the prongs. And it leaves the other end open to strike at them. The length is the other advantage; you can turn it prongs-out to get some distance."

Feferi handed it back over. "Okay. Now you try it."

Suzaku nodded and followed her outside. He watched as she demonstrated how to use the trident. It was a little like a naginata, sort of... Not that Suzaku had ever used one, but he had seen Tohdou use one when he was younger.

He took the trident off Feferi and held it as he had been shown, before moving it experimentally, parry with one end, strike with the other.

"Good! Just like that. Tighten your grip a little with your left hand, but you've got the knack of moving it."

Feferi's voice was bright, encouraging, happy. Happy? That was strange. But she figured it out a moment later - it meant she was protecting someone again.

He did so, adjusting his hands so it felt comfortable. It had been an incredibly long time since he had learnt a new weapon, he moved it again, "Do I move my hands, when I wish to parry or strike with the other end, or do they stay in one place?"
