rakuen | Round Two start: Conquest School

Just like last Sunday; when characters wake up the next morning there will be an announcement on all the screens. "Please report to the lobby at 12 noon for important information about this round." Any who fail, refuse or get lost are found by Santana and taken swiftly to the lobby.

Day is stood on the small raised podium again, this time eating a plum. Santana sits next to her. "So it's been an exciting week," she starts with a grin, she looks like she is in a good mood. Still her face turns stern for a moment as she speaks. "Because I would much rather focus on positive things I am going to get the negative out of the way first." She fixes them with a level stare. "Rules." As she begins speaking some members of the audience will begin to get a headache. Suzaku, Golbez, Homura and others who have broken the rules this week. The headache intensifies as Day continues speaking.

"Rules are on page nine of the player handbook which you all have been given. Any one who cannot read may request a copy be sent to their PDA, an advanced PDA will read the rules to you. there is no excuse for breaking them they are there for a reason!" She smiled, the pain went away from the affected character's minds.

"Now we have put those unpleasantries aside. I would like to congratulate you on what was a truly wonderful round!" She grinned looking like an excited kid, "As you may have guessed from the extra raks you received Conquest won this round and you may all be incredibly proud of yourselves!"

On the screen behind her the Battle records for Conquest and the Interschool battles that they had fought were shown. She read the conquest battle records first.

"Aqua vs Golbez, congratulations Aqua. Homura Akemi vs Lithuania, congratulations Lithuania, Aisha Clan Clan vs Feferi Piexes, congratulations Aisha." She smiled at the crowd.

"Also in fighting Fortitude you all did brilliantly, congratulations to Lithuania, who fought Shion and won, Homura Akemi who fought Shion and won, Feferi Peixes who fought Kotarou and won, Aisha Clanclan who fought Dave Strider and won, Homura Akemi who fought Dave Strider and won and to Lithuania who fought Spain and won." She is positively beaming by now.

"Finally I would like us all to offer our congratulations to Lithuania for being the only Round Winner of last round. A round of applause please!" She waited until the clapping died down before adding, "I hope those who are players this next round follow his example and fight as hard as he did."

The battle records disappear. "Next I welcome our new students who joined us yesterday, I am sure you are pleased to know that you truly joined the superior school. Now I have here the list of those chosen to be Players this round, for those who have just joined us this means these students and teachers are the only persons with rights this week. The rest of you have no rights, you may be granted rights by being owned by a Player." She smiled at them again, this time her smile was a little less than friendly.

"To own a weapon you must vow to them, you know the vow has worked when they receive a sword mark on their hand," she held her own hand up to show to new ones what it looked like. She took another bite of plum. "Players may give their Weapons permission to access the school facilities, and to eat from the full cafeteria menu among other things. If you haven't got a Player then you are a Discard, make sure you know all the rules and do exactly what Santana tells you to. There is no school today but I suggest you use the time to vow to Weapons if you are a Player or find a Player if you are a Weapon. School is Monday to Friday starting 8am sharp. All this is in your manual; please read it."

Nephenee had been standing to the side, some earpieces in, listening to the manual as the announcement came on. Pulling them out, she listened intently to the woman talking, before she heard her name called. So...she was a Player? Welp, the manual and the lady said she needed a weapon, so...but how to get one?

Looking up from the gibberish on the screen, she spotted the tiny buy she had made friends with the day before, and, walking over, gave him a wave. "Hi, Kotaro. You understand what they were talking about?" She looked confused on her own, that was for sure.

"Hello Nephenee!" He shrugged, "I think that the people whose names got called have to fight everyone else who has to fight, and everyone else has to be their weapon." He was a little confused himself.

"So...you weren't called. Does that make you a weapon?" The idea of the tiny boy being a weapon worried her. What did it mean, anyway? How could he be a weapon...

"Yes. I think so," and his face fell a little as he remembered the little that he had read, "The book says that means I can't have nice food or go outside, I don't think that's very nice of them!"

"No, it sure ain't..." her mouth twisted into a frown, before she thought of something. "Well...do ya wanna vow with me? That way ya can get nice food and all..."

"Ee!" Kotaro brightened at once and was almost bouncing as he nodded, "That would be fun!"

"I bet so!" She flipped on her pda and spoke into it, "How ta join with a weapon?" The section pulled up, and she listened intently through the headphones. "Well, it says I gotta say I vow to own and protect you, and you gotta agree to be owned and such. Don't seem too hard." She looked down at him, and smiled, "Ya sure you're okay with fightin'?"

"Uhh okay," he nodded and grinned, "My brother and me fight all the time!" Alright so his brother fought, and Kotaro watched, and waited to be rescued. But it was almost the same thing.

"well...awright." She took a deep breath, and took his hand in hers, "I vow ta own an' protect ya."

He took her hand happily, bouncing on the spot a little. "Yay! I'll be a really good weapon okay!"

...Okay so nothing special happened. But she did notice a mark appear on one of his hands, "well...I guess since that showed up, it worked?" She tilted her head in a bit of confusion. "I wonder what ya are..."

Kotaro brought his hand up so he could examine the mark better. "Well a sword is a weapon so I think it worked!" He shrugged. "I don't know, how do we find out?"

"Well..." She thought for a moment, "Maybe we should train or somethin?"

"Train yes!" Kotaro grinned, "My brother says that to be good at a weapon you have to train every day, he was always training with Crow!"

"Your brother trained witha crow?"

No Neph.
Just no.

Kotaro blinked and then shook his head. "No just a person named Crow, he was the Princess's guardian."

"Oooh." She nodded understandingly, "Sorry, we got a race back home called Laguz, and some of them are Crows. They don't guard her Majesty, though."

"Do they talk? I never heard of them before! Who looks after her majesty?"

"Her retainers, Lucia and Geoffrey, look after her. And they don't talk in their Crow forms but when the make themselves look like Beorc -that's humans like you and me-, they can."
Her voice dropped to a whisper, "Not a lotta people like Laguz, call em mean names. I like em though. Think everyone should be treated proper, not like slaves or nothin'."

Kotaro nodded, he had never heard of these Laguz but he agreed with her, "Everyone should be treated the same and be nice to everyone! No one likes Black Bloods either so me and my brother had to hide a lot but some people like Mimiko are nice and don't care about stuff like that, she's a good person like you!" He grinned showing fangs.

Nephenee tilted her head to the side, "Yeah, everyone should be treated right...whatsa Black Blood?"

Kotaro blinked, "Black Blood is what humans call vampires, least in Japan that's what they call them." He smiled again.

"...Vampires?" The look on her face made it clear she'd never heard of them. "What's that?"

"You don't know what vampires are?" But everyone had heard of vampires, even the ones that hated them and thought they were all dead.

"They are like humans, but have powers, like some can turn into wolves and some like my brother are really strong and can throw people or things around by just moving his fingers. We can all fly, I can only fly and nothing else. Things like sun and water hurt us, and some old bloodlines can't enter places without being invited." Kotaro and his brother were like that.

"Some used to be humans, and drank vampires blood to become vampires, theres some bad vampires called Kolween children, they are really bad and my brother beat them all in Hong Kong, but some survived." He frowned to think of more information.

"Oh and vampires need blood as well as food to survive, so they need to drink blood from humans."

"Those sound real scary," she said, grimacing, "So...you're one of the good ones, though, right?"

"B-blood? How do ya get it?"
